Me to!!!! Once I heard the tribute tour rendition from the 90's,I was ruined for life. Radio stations Jip us from the complete solo.. The "Bah Bah Bah Bah Bah,I wanna thank you " I added that to my rendition.. One of my favorite solo's of ALL TIME!!!
This is what my wife and I danced to at our wedding I got to pick the song. Wife also had guitar picks with our pictures and wedding date decorating the grooms cake. Not sure what the grooms cake was for but we had one with guitar picks stuck all in it which was cool.
I have been sub to you're channels on two accounts for years, and I only just now watched you're last video on PT Channel and I did not realize. I have famous relation I was helping on they're fan page and trolls, drama caused me to leave social media.(People utilize social media for venting and imbecile issues)(World Championship Boxing and racism is bad as well). Trouble is there are youth and adults within the same structure mixing. Elvis is great example of forging own path and it is OUR take that causes creativity. Artists Begged Elvis to cover a song because he made them famous with his OWN creativity. We are same age,I played since I was ten. My issue is ambidextrous from birth and hand I pick with is not hand I write with (should have picked up guitar lefty) but oh well. I learned so many things from you, you're a great player. Takes me a bit longer with picking patterns using a pick With guitar are many paths to destination. Life is to short for drama, hope you are enjoying the Drama-Free channel you deserve.. Salute!!!! (Many Thanks to)
Thank you!!! Ha ha ha 😂, see what I did there? Seriously, thanks man!!! Have a Happy New year! May 2021 bring you prosperity and happiness. I subbed and rang the.🔔!
Yep, nothing gets in the way of music like a little music theory, but here goes: Progressions are counted on the notes of the major scale starting with the tonic or 'back home' note - strictly speaking. The chords in order in the song are D-C-G-D. In this case the home note is D, so that's 1. Things get weird from there cuz there's no C in the D-major scale - the closest is C# (sharp) which is the 7th note from D in the scale. C is a flat (half step) down from C#, so we call it flat7. G is the 4the note in the scale - Yay! So, in the roman numeral music symbols we call this a I-bVII-IV-I progression. This is so much easier to explain with straight 12-bar blues! :-)
“Thank you” for doing this ...great lesson as usual
I always get goosebumps from the BBC live version... that solo, so epic!
I agree it is fantastic!

Cool story. My wife picked You Light up My Life. We got divorced. Had she chosen a Zeppelin tune we would probably still be married.

woody558 To be honest, this isn’t one of my favorite Zeppelin tunes. But the outro soloing on the live ones is always stellar.

Thanks man- as always, another solid lesson! Love the channel and the J200
Sweet thx james
Ah! Knew you would do this one…..thank you!
Fantastic as usual! thanks for doing these.
I've learned so much from you over the years
Such a beautiful song.... I’m still working on a Quick While He’s away.. a stellar lesson from a few years ago. But this was a nice end to my night ..
John Paul Jones's organ is nothing short of beautiful in this song, hence it's name.
Thank you so much i really enjoy these lessons
Thanks so much JJ!
YOU SURE DO HAVE SOME BEAUTIFUL GUITARS, THEY SOUND GREAT TO!!
Thanks man! Good job!
Nice! Thumbs up..
Thanks man!
Nice one, James.
Good stuff, man.
I can't even concentrate on the lessons I am suffering from a severe case of guitar envy...lol
Not my favorite Zep tune but always loved JPJ's bass line throughout.
For the verses I think he uses a C shaped E bar chord. But I suppose open position E would be fine for a beginner
Thanks for the lesson! What kind of guitar are you playing?
That’s a Gibson J200.
tasty picking at 6:18 is best part
Sounds great - what strings are you using on your J200 ?
Definite similarities between this song and the verses of Lionel Richie's All Night Long.
Like
I think the album sounds better
What strings do you use?
is this what they call a i; iii; v ? I have no idea how those work. I just play.
