I would love to see a Romantasy video from you! Even if it's just the stand-alone/non-series books on the list. Most of the videos on Romantasy I see are from Fantasy-primary readers, so it's interesting to see someone who's primarily a romance reader talk about them
omg I'd love to see a romantasy Goodreads video! Maybe just of the non-series or start the series even if the first book is older? Obvi only if you want to/have time lol
something i was really surprised to not see was ready or not by cara bastone bc the way everyone i follow on ig read and ‘loved’ that book back in feb/march it was all i saw for months like i swear it got an insane amount of hype
tbh i totally missed that one and hadn't heard about it until TODAY! so many of my IG followers are saying it's their favorite of the year. excited to try it out
@ i loved it!!! very much giving the same vibes as that one hannah bonam young book is it out on a limb?! if the write ins were still an option i honestly think it would have my vote!
I loved the visual of the predictions / nominees at the end of the video where you highlighted the one you were talking about! Also yeah I loved Bride but Why are You Here
I was shocked that Tessa Bailey wasn’t included, not because her releases were good but because she’s a mainstay of the category. Maybe it’ll be a wake up call that she needs to shift out of this current series.
I actually really enjoyed the pairing at least in comparison to her previous books. I loved red, white, and royal blue, DNFd one last stop, and I still want to read I kissed Shara wheeler.
Maybe add in one of the romantasy nominees to your video just to add in a few more books to read. I would say only a stand alone or first book in a series kind of thing.
for what it's worth, i loved the pairing by casey mcquiston !! i totally get why it might not work for a lot of people, but i feel the need to defend it's place as not something Nobody likes. i'm not surprised to see liz tomforde on the list (and i've been really getting into her books recently!), but a little surprised ashley poston wasn't on the list.
I feel like the Romantasy section is so scewed, because osme of those are just fantasy with only some romance plots, i wouldn't put CC3 as a romantasy ngl. Also I feel like many aren't first in their series. Very impressed with your level of prediction, also I am extremely happy Bride made it to the category, because it was my fav, although I was a bit shocked it wasn't romantasy, i feel like it could have won romantasy, but in romance it's unlikely to win. Ugh we need more categories :D I was a bit surprised to see 2 Ali books, but am I really, I bought them both the moment they came out. However many great authors I know haven't made the list, so always place to improve. Maybe goodreads should also do a honorary award for just an author taking in all their work, favorite author of the year or something, so we'd see less authors with multiple books nominated all at once.
the categories are so weird, bring back graphic novels and middle grade. the argument that middle grade doesn't use GoodReads doesn't work for me, the people who buy those books do!

i was really suprised that they put Bride in the romance category. I was sure they would put it in romantasy
I think its more paranormal romance instead of romantasy

Ou yessss, I was looking forward for this video whole week!

Your predictions were pretty good!!
I voted for Not in Love even though I adored the Abby Jimenez book.

!!
Was so looking forward to this!
ok tech question, what mic are you using at 10:31 ? Because it's so clear but you're not right up in the camera. Sounds so crisp!
i use the same mic for every video, it's the rode videomic go 2
The Love of My Afterlife was very good! im so glad it got nominated. but JFTS is my favorite read of the year
I really liked _Lies and Weddings_ , but I don't remember it being a romance. I was really surprised to see it on the romance list, at least.
I actually really enjoyed the pairing at least in comparison to her previous books. I loved red, white, and royal blue, DNFd one last stop, and I still want to read I kissed Shara wheeler.
I would so rather see you dive into the Fantasy Romance category this year! 🫢
i think it would mostly just be me bitching lol. i wanna save y'all from that

I feel like the list, although predictable as always, was ok. But, like the past years, it’s kinda obvious that Funny Story will be winning it….

I think I was pleased sort of with this year and also, like, just.... feel kind of meh about them at the same time. Lol
that's kinda how i'm feeling!
I wouldn't have a clue predicting romance lol
