For one cup of my best hot chocolate, I melt about 50 grams of chocolate in a bit of milk, slowly, when it's melted into a ganache and I add cinnamon to taste, 3 tbsp of sugar, and a cup of half and half, and slowly heat up until hot. I use a foamer which helps make the half and half even smoother and creamer, then serve and top with a dusting of more cinnamon. You can use whatever blend of chocolates you enjoy best, and the sugar is to taste, so it isn't really necessary.

We know about Italian hot chocolate,😊 we just don’t need it. Hot chocolate especially for kids is made full of sugar and marshmallows and it’s the nostalgia of such an experience that has adults drinking hot chocolate mixes with the thin watery chocolate shown in the first recipe. The average adult doesn’t often drink hot chocolate, they go for coffee or tea, and when they are feeling in the mood, a mocha, so unless you don’t drink coffee there isn’t a niche for fancy drinking chocolate as there is in Europe.

Hot chocolate and hot cocoa are 2 different things fyi.
Hot chocolate is made by breaking up chocolate into small pieces than melting them in milk.
Hot cocoa is basically the same, but instead of actual hard chopped chocolate you just use cocoa powder.
Also main difference is that hot chocolate is super thiccc and you eat it with a spoon, while hot cocoa you can easily slurp up.

French hot chocolate is the best. Take a piece of chocolate you enjoy, and melt it in some cream. Once it's homogenous, pour in some warm milk and then sweeten to your taste, add a pinch of salt.
Take 20% or so and pour whip it separately. Pour in a mug and then take the whipped mixture and put on top. That way you won't burn your tongue when you take a sip.
Ratios are a matter of preference. I prefer mine to be super thick, most don't.

He called it the nano foamer but the reviews say it's pretty unreliable. Many report that it breaks within a short amount of time. It's also nearly $60 right now.

You can do all of that without the large sauce pan. Take 1 tablespoon of cocoa powder in a mug, add 1 tablespoon of sugar (or less) ,1 square of dark or milk chocolate, add a dash of milk (about 1-2 tablespoons) , microwave for 15 seconds, mix, microwave again to make syrup like and add the milk. Easy.

The best hot chocolate I'd drinking chocolate. Take milk and melt in chocolate until it's so rich you almost need a glass of water to drink with it.

Im sure those are amazing, however last night me and my best mates were chilling at 4am at one of their houses. We looked outside and saw that in only an hour 6in of snow had fallen. There were 15mph winds and it was beautiful. We weren't home till 6am, and when we did come back we made hot chocolate with Hershey syrup. It was the lowest quality hot chocolate ever but it tasted incredible. Idk, I love my homies.

I just toss a handful of M&Ms into a metal stovetop tea kettle and boil it with some milk. It works, as long as it doesn't foam over.

Best hot chocolate is a Cadbury bar melted into milk. It’s thick and rich. Any of the powder mixes don’t have the same result

But can't say I'm surprised, the Mexicans definitely knew how to treat their native ingredients
