I feel a big part of the hate comes down to the fact that the fight itself does not match up to anything, not even the facts stated in the episode itself. The biggest example being the fact that they repeatedly mentioned howl the omnitrix can automatically transform Ben into the alien he needs when he's in danger. So... why exactly did this not only never come up in the fight itself, but get actively ignored so Hal can deal the final blow? It just makes the whole fight feel cheap and anticlimactic.
It didn’t exactly get ignored. Hal just moved WAY faster than the failsafe could even begin to activate.
I feel that people wouldn't have complained so much if the killing blow was from Hal's Spear. Like, maybe damaging the Omnitrix symbol, killing Alien X and leaving the 10 year old corpse behind.

@@zacharyfrierson6972 How though, they mentioned the failsafe was fast enough to catch the big bang, I'm pretty sure Hal was moving nowhere near as fast as the big bang to out speed the failsafe, and even if it did they ignored the fact that Ben had his arm cut off and left in another dimension but the Omnitrix still returned to him, so cutting off Ben's arm won't stop him from using the Omnitrix. Also why didn't Alien X go back in time with Hal Jordan if Alien X could also manipulate time? Ben really got shafted in this fight, many people agree that Has would win but the way he did win in the video made it seem like the just solely wanted Half to win so they ignored Ben's counters of being separated from his Omnitrix.
So for the emotions it goes like this:
Green= Willpower
Yellow=Fear
Red=Rage
Violet= Love
Blue=Hope
Orange=Greed
Indigo=Compassion
And theres 2 special ones
Black=Death/ the lack of any emotion (you have to be dead and resurrected as a zombie to be a Black Lantern)
White=Life/ the embodiment of all emotion(OP AS HELL)
Theres also technically the Ultraviolet corp of the invisible emotional spectrum.
A person can use different rings at once, I believe Guy Gardner used a Green and Red ring at once and Kyle Raynor used all of the different rings at once before becoming a White Lantern

See I’m fine with Ben losing, but the problem is the way they did it. They didn’t need to downplay all of his aliens, they didn’t need to have alien x, who can control time, lose to time travel. It’s just dumb

I’m not sure if someone pointed this out yet, but the dislike to like ratio is the most even it has ever been in Death Battle History. Not even the amount of sodium from the original Goku vs Superman was this bad. That is not to say this episode didn’t deserve it for some stuff. The I don’t really care about the winner of this one, I was disappointed on how they presented Ben in the animation, from the attire to the selection of Aliens. I mean, I get that they went for the iconic look. But people who don’t know Ben 10 won’t care what Ben 10 wears, and I believe that the majority of the fans would want him to be portrayed accurately.
It’s just a Sprite choice, it doesn’t really affect the animation quality in any way. It’s kinda like how they chose to use New All Might design instead of Prime All Night’s design, it doesn’t really affect the animation quality
Rippen_Crippen I get it, and I know what you mean. However when you have Ben as a 10 year old transform into something that he couldn’t until he was 16 and his appearance was completely different, it is really jarring to fans. It is like seeing child Bruce Wayne be in the Bat Suit and beat the living pulp out some thugs.

The reason this is everyone most hated Death Battle isn't just that Ben lost, but he was nerfed, misunderstood, and alot of the research in this episode is either wrong or missing. I won't rant too much, mainly because I don't know much about Green Lantern (I do have a diehard DC friend to turn to and even he thinks Ben should have won). I recommend Ink Tanks video on the subject, but here's my quick takes about Ben, I'll try not to repeat every point Ink Tank makes, just 1 I think is really important.
1st) The creators of the show wanted to stick to the original 10 aliens as much as possible for this Death Battle because they thought it would be more nostalgic for Ben 10 fans. This ticked off a lot of fans because later aliens completely blow the original 10 out of the water.
2nd) Alien X is aware of Time Travel happening (In the Ben 10 universe this is called the Sotobro Effect). He would follow Green Lantern through time to the start of the battle.
3rd) The Green Lantern ring, it's technology. One of Bens original aliens "Upgrade" could theoretically go inside the ring and hack it, taking it and Green Lanterns powers away.
The reason I say theoretically is because Death Battle did a Q&A video talking about it, they think that because Dr. Manhattan (basically Blue Naked God, a decent stand in for Alien X sure, but not Upgrade) said he couldn't understand the workings of the ring, WHILE HE WAS DESTROYING IT, completely contradicting an earlier question they answer in the video of "Couldn't Alien X just destroy the ring?".
I'll stop there because I said I wouldn't make this too long and as you can see from that last paragraph my fanboy is showing.
and there research of other battles is like this:
a cockroach can survive a nuke and a regular person can crush a cockroach meaning the persons attack is stronger then a nuke
There is definetley some feats regarding Green Lantern that make this outcome make sense. But yes, this Death Battle just didnt represent Ben 10 well at all. Personally, i think the actual outcome of this Death Battle could be either Ben 10 or Green Lantern... but i can also understand why they ultimatley decided on Green Lantern (DC Comics can get very insane and wild at points, and Green Lantern in particular is one of the more insane and wild ones to be honest). Although, even if the outcome is potentially correct, it definetley does not change the fact that they misrepresented Ben 10 heavily in this fight.

@@e.bthischannelisnowabandon9570 Like said, i do think they didnt represent Ben 10's abilities well at all in the actual battle. There are reasons for why Green Lantern could win this match up, but they just didnt explore or explain those really that well at all, and they really just misrepresented Ben 10. As said, personally, i can see arguments to be made why either of them could wind, this Death Battle just did not at all show it well.
12:59 - A retcon is "retroactive continuity"; basically, negating previous canon and rewriting the history to suit a new future canon. You hear about it fairly often with sequels and reboots of movies/shows/games. "This character was clever and funny? Well, that doesn't fit how we want the story to go now. BAM! Retconned! Now they're dumb and obnoxious!"

There was a discussion about this in one of their post videos. One feat I feel they should have mentioned is in the comics; Hal found himself alone in a universe and made three satellite probes to explore the universe and look for other green lanterns. It took one second for his probes to explore the entire universe which would have put Megaman exes speed record to shame.

Ben 10 fanboys are FAAAR worse honestly. Goku fanboys mostly calmed down after seeing Superman's feats, MOST OF THEM, but the point still stands. Ben 10 fanboys literally are incapable of scaling and literally pull shit out of their asses
Just for reference
Ben turned into Alien X before the Annihilargh went off, survived the universe wipe without flinching, and then recreated the entire universe with very minimal errors. This means he had to recreate every individual sentient being with their memories, that he himself was not aware of. He later jumped into the void of non existence in the far future to catch a second Annihilarg, contain the Big Bang itself, and fire it at some other dude with minimal repercussions to Ben himself.
My biggest gripe with this fight is something that involves Death Battle itself.
When Death Battle pits characters against each other, they usually compile a character’s various feats and versions into one averaged out version that can use the full potential off all incarnations.
Ben Prime, the main one, has 3 significant forms within the timeline. Kid Ben who is probably 10 to 11 years old, Alien Force/Ultimate Alien Ben who is 16-17, and Omniverse Ben who is roughly 17-20
Not counting the potential adult Bens (which changes depending on the events of the past) Ben should be more in his 16-20’s in this fight. He really started learning close combat and martial art techniques at this time and was much more experienced in general. But then they for some reason used Kid Ben, who is more headstrong and reckless, to fight an adult man with light manipulation and can allegedly blow up planets.
Generally Death Battle also gives the characters access to any tools they’ve had in the past. In this case Ben would have access to the Sword of Ascalon and the accompanying armour. A sword that can cut through metal, shoot energy, open transport portals, create whirlwinds, make force fields, and absorb the powers of any enemies. Ben would also have access to Skurd the Slimebiote, a blob creature that can apply various parts of other aliens onto Ben’s current alien. So, giving Four Arms flaming fists from Heat Blast or making a Sound Cannon from Echo Echo.
If we really want to stretch it Ben could have also been given Ben 10K’s ability to perfectly fuse any two of his aliens into a perfect combo, or even Reboot Ben’s abilities to apply mechanical armour on his aliens to boost their innate skills. This stuff isn’t directly connected to main canon Ben Prime however so that’s fine.
In short, I don’t like how they used Kid Ben instead of Older Ben as the fight template and I feel like they just skipped over various things unlike how they normally do. Would Ben have still lost? Maybe. Perhaps even probably, but it feels like a poor representation of the character as a whole in favour of nostalgia.
I can’t say if they passed up anything on Green Lanterns side of things, but it felt like an overwhelming disadvantage on Ben’s side. If Green Lantern does have any other feats or items of note, please tell me, I like learning.
Still waiting for Goro vs Machamp though as that’s my favourite fight. Won’t be for a while though.
They didn't composite Green Lantern since Green Lantern survived the crisis on infinite earth's so he was always the same all the way till Flashpoint but that doesn't matter since Convergence and Dark Nights Death Metal made everything canon and a real composite of Green Lantern would have had the Specter and Paralax the same can be said for Ben since one of the rules for Death Battle is to use there most iconic look but still use them at there peak in Ben's case it was his classic look but he still got all his aliens and experience from later season's and unlike Green Lantern a lot of his power ups were one offs and Death Battle only uses other stuff for characters when it's consistent with the character in question the reason you don't know a lot of this is because all this is addressed in the Death Battle Cast.

I’ve watched Ben 10 all the way up to the first episode of Omniverse. Not because I didn’t like it, it’s just that it was around the time where I stopped watching TV in general! Oh & this episode was pretty good. My only complaint is that they didn’t explain well enough how Green Lantern won, & that really brings the episode down for me (& a lot of people). Still, this was a good 7/10! Also; watch the bloopers for this episode, it’s great!

Yeah, I disagree with this one. Even the voice actor for Boomstick was very confused. They also left out a lot of information. Like they were saying Xlr8 was one of Ben's fastest, which isn't actually true. They also left out that Alien X wasn't even Ben's strongest alien. It just been said that there are more aliens stronger than X in the Omnitrix.
Also you got a little confused. Alien X didn't hold back the big bang. Feedback did, an alien much weaker than X.
I’m sorry to say, but Hal 100% beats Ben 10. They explain in their Q&A why Hal is just stronger, faster, and just way more versatile than Alien X. Alien X’s feats just don’t compare to the sheer power and toughness of the DC top tiers. Hal is also one of the strongest members of the Justice League, so he compares to characters that can erase entire multiverses
@@Rippen_Crippen I know the video you're talking about and there's MANY errors. See here's the thing though, they used a composite Hal Jordan with a variety of feats that he realistically didn't have access to anymore (at the time). Hal, for example, can't time travel on a whim and just retcon a fight. Also, so long as Ben is in Alien X form, he would be strong enough to ignore a time paradox acting on himself and restore the timeline. In fact, at least 1 of his other time related Aliens has the same power.
Now if this was White Lantern Hal Jordan or Ion, I could see Hal putting up a fight. But not regular old Green Lantern Hal.

@@lucariomew365 Riding off Ink Tank huh, well funnily enough they don’t composite both characters, they just scale Hal to past Hal since he scales to pre crisis feats and powers, he never lost them or got weaker after the reboot. And it doesn’t matter post crisis still slaps Ben 10, he is just too fast

To be honest, I do legitimately enjoy the fight animation itself, and I'm not gonna argue with how they came to the conclusion of who would win. Where I take issue is how they depicted the killing blow. If the Omnitrix can transform Ben into the ideal form to protect him from harm, fast enough to CATCH THE BIG BANG, then what kind of sense does it make for his arm to be so easily severed? The Omnitrix should've been able to detect the danger, instantly transform Ben into a highly durable form (like, say, Diamondhead) fast enough to block Green Lantern's attack.
That's really the only issue that I have with this fight.
even if Ben couldn't block the scissors, due to the Sotobro effect, Alien X would be alerted and follow Hal back to the start of the fight and stop him from killing past Ben
His arm actually does get severed in the show.
The Omnitrix operates his arm, which was like dimensionally severed so it's not a bleeding stump, it's weird just roll with it, and his arm wanders around using the Omnitrix AI to navigate and think and eventually get back to Ben. It even turns him into aliens when necessary so Ben himself isn't defenseless. WHILE BEN IS IN ANOTHER DIMENSION.
So, yeah.... that wouldn't work. Also, time travel doesn't work on him anyway, cause Alien X can do that too, and he can also CANCEL Hal's time travel due to something called the sotobro effect.
The only reason the show keeps going after Ben gets full control of Alien X...... is because they want it to, so they just DON'T use him. Ben doesn't like anyone, including himself, to have unlimited power or control over anything, so it makes sense he'd just refuse to use Alien X even though it could solve whatever problem there was. He uses it like ONE time, and it's basically to distract people while some other people go and solve a problem. A problem Alien X COULD solve with a thought, but he just doesn't because Ben doesn't want to rely on this power. Also some writers were super anal about fanboying the original run, even ignoring new aliens. This writer actually openly hated Jetray, so he just didn't include Jetray in his run of the show despite that alien being really useful.

There's a youtuber named The Ink Tank, he made a video explaining why this battle was inaccurate and the reasons the research was a bit iffy. That said the fight was really fun overall

the omnitrix is confirmed to have problems with technology from other dimensions and has repeatedly failed to catch MUCH slower attacks, like billy billion's time ray
Personally, I don't have a problem with the outcome as I like both characters.
I do however have a problem with two things:
1. As soon as Alien X came out, it should have been game over. He could have easily followed GL, sever the chemical bonds holding his molecules together, stopped him from traveling back in time etc. So since they gave the win to GL, I would have preferred it if they did it before Alien X appeared.
2. and tbf, that's not specific to this episode: I hate it when they attribute the feats of others to a character. Especially when the reason is something like "because he defeated them/fought on equal footing with them" or "because they are 'the greatest'...". The former because this implies that the character they fought was going all out which is simply not true most of the time (otherwise people like Superman would have a massive body count by now) and the latter because it just does not make any sense as it ignores the fact that people are different and tend to have an individual set of skills *unique to them.*
Tl;dr: I don't dislike the outcome, just the reasoning and the scenes once Alien X was unleashed.

1) no he can't. a time traveller used this SPECIFIC technique to disable him in the ben 1o series. and NONE of that would work on green lantern. he's survived MUCH worse, and part of his basic training was deliberately erasing himself from existence and willing himself back. and if the FUNDAMENTAL NATURE OF TIME changing across the entrie multiverse couldn't stop him time travelling, what makes you think alien x could? he's even existed in a plane where life itself is a reality breaking error.
2) he is given the powers of other green lanterns because that is the literal description of how green lantern powers work. that's like complaining that you assumed a gun shot bullets just because all the other guns shot bullets. and i notice that you're assuming alien x can erase him from existence despite x never showing that power.... we only assume he can because the other celestialsapiens can.
Daniel's right. It's called power scaling. Hal could scale to other Green Lanterns particularly since he draws from the same power source, just like Alien X could theoretically scale to other celestialsapiens. (Admittedly that is a bit sketchy).

I'm honestly a big fan of Death Battle, I've re-watched a number of my favorite episodes over and over when bored or wanting something to play in the background, this one I watched once and never looked at it ever ever again.... until now.... uuuuggggghhhhhh....

U should react to the debunk from Ink Tank. It explains the Ben 10 side a lot better. Although I don’t completely disagree with the outcome ( it’s a 50/50 imo) the way they made Hal win was just wrong and contradictory
The way how they made Hal win doesn't reflect the actual research for why he wins. Which is the issue I have with Kuro's video, he tries to debunk the episode without actually debunking or looking into Hals feats/haxs/resistances. And tries to debunk the animation when it has nothing too do with the research anyways.

Taking the given feats for Hal Jordan and Ben 10, and the sheer absurdity of the Omnitrix into account, and this being a battle to the Death, there is no way for Green Lantern to kill Ben Tennyson without overriding the Omnitrix, and considering it has a quantum AI made by the smartest being in 12 galaxies (Azmuth), that ain't gonna happen. The Omnitrix isn't just a dumb watch. It will not let Ben Tennyson die or take an attack that could lead to a lethal wpund under ANY circumstances

So... one thing that I remember in Ben 10 that wasn’t used in the battle is in the opportunity Ben ever loses his arm the Omnitrix would find another version of Ben to be a replacement. Omniverse had a lot of multiverse time travel stuff.
In general I feel that regardless of if green lantern's win is deserved or not the victory in the animation should make sense that it can defeat the loser, due to alien X's time manipulation this one doesn't, that's my biggest problem with it, and if you can't think of a victory that makes sense, maybe they're not the winner
Personally i have zero issue with GL winning. If the feats support the statements they use then great. But the problem is they used a composite GL while only using one timeline version of Ben. That's not necessarily fair in any regard as there are versions of Ben who are leagues more power than what they portrayed in the battle itself. It's inconsistent to have Ben simultaneously stop a Big Bang, but also get his arm cut off by giant scissors. If one thing disproves the other from working, then it shouldn't happen at all. Though both characters have been misrepresented in the video as a whole, I'm just thinking it could've been done better.
In any case, the episode is old now and people have moved on. Still leaves a bitter taste.
@@goliathxanatos706 yeah me too, i'm not even a fan of either Ben or GL and i really dislike this battle, so many thing were "off", let's take what Duck said about the fact that AlienX din't noticed the destruction of the universe and Db saying that Alien X didn't do anything to preven it, than let's just say that in that battle he didnt noticed GL going back in time to the start of the battle, its not that he goes when he just got the omnitrix or something like that, he goes back at the start of the battle with a still "full power" Ben and even if he took him by surprise, the Omnitrix would still make Ben to transform in something to prevent the wellfare of his possessor. So he still need to fight probably another Alien X and get another beatdown, maybe to death this time.

And I remember the "tine huh" kill only happened because they felt there were a little too many vaporizer kills prior in the season
The victory was fine there's a difference between reversing time and time travel and even if Alien X could follow Hal Green Lantern is so much faster Than Alien X that it wouldn't matter if he could follow or not and Hal just having overwhelming stats and to much hax meant that time travel didn't matter and the reason the crew at Death Battle choose time travel as the Death well they just wanted something different.

1. The connections between Ben Tennyson and Green Lantern are that they are both earthlings whose powers came from a mysterious device from space that they wear on their arm that gives them a huge variety of powers (Ben wields the Omnitrix which allows him to shapeshift into any alien and Hal Jordon wields a Green Lantern power ring which allows him to create constructs and more), and they're both shining green. They're also known for fighting and helping aliens. They also work with/for crime-fighting organizations that recruit a multitude of aliens, which is identified with a specific green symbol (For Ben, The Plumbers and for Hal, the Green Lantern Corps). As for Beast Boy, it was stated that he wouldn't stand a chance due to the sheer differences in their transformations. They could trim Ben Tennyson to his younger self from the original first series, but Singer wanted Ben to have all the aliens he has achieved over the years.
2a. One of Ben's rejected opponents, Danny Phantom, would eventually appear in the Season 7 episode, Danny Phantom VS American Dragon Jake Long.
2b. Despite Danny being rejected to fight against Ben, he would later fight him in Season 5 of DBX.

Most of the ire towards the episode came from the vocal Ben 10 fanbase who questioned if Green Lantern could compete with Alien X and heavily criticized the ending of the fight.
7. Several times during the fight, animation errors appear where Green Lantern can be seen with two rings equipped.

Thanks for the tip." has effectively become a meme in the Death Battle fandom, to the point where the producers themselves noticed in a couple of Death Battle Casts. It's even gotten to a point where a shirt of the meme (along with the boot that killed Ben) was made.

12. The line "Ew, I stepped in loser" has also become a meme, as both Ben and Hal said it in the fight.

TRACK
The track for this fight is "Emerald Heroes" by Werewolf Therewolf. It uses various types of synths to create a space theme. Two sets of lyrics are heard in the background that represent Ben and Hal. It also implements piano and electric guitar, with the latter sounding similar to those used in the original Ben 10 theme song.
The track's title is a reference to Ben & Hal's signature colors being green. It could also be a reference to Ben's catchphrase; "It's hero time!", as well the animated movie Green Lantern: Emerald Knights.
The cover image features the original Omnitrix in its active mode, with the Green Lantern symbol replacing the regular symbol.

When Alien X clones itself it is not fake clones like naruto it is another Alien X with the same memories and experiences as ben. And even if they were like shadow clones echo-echo can clone himself then turn into Alien X
I'm pretty sure this is the only death battle to surpass Goku vs Superman is terms of controversy. I don't personally agree with it, and they did legitimately get information about the Omnitrix wrong, like the "using it too much can mess up your DNA" part. The only thing that's ever happened similar to that is when someone used their own powers to try and absorb the abilities of all the current transformations available in it and lost control of their abilities, but that isn't something that happens to wielders of the Omnitrix. They bring up some aliens to discount them as being viable and then ignore other aliens that do it better(XLR8 for example, he's fast, but Jetray is faster, able to fly faster than light in space, and is faster in water, Four-Arms is stronger than Humongousaur casually, but Humongousaur can grow bigger up to 60 ft tall and his body gets stronger as he grows). I highly recommend a video by TheInkTank that went over the battle,"An analysis of Ben 10 vs Green Lantern" I believe it's called. This battle was huge in the Ben 10 fandom as besides the reboot, it was probably the most revelant Ben 10 had been in pop culture for years, and the fans were disappointed by a lackluster representation. Alien X is also a singular being throughout the multiverse, meaning there's only one version of him throughout all the different timelines and universes, so if two Ben's tried to become him at once, the first one to actually transform would be the one to become him, so time travel wouldn't beat him. They say the Omnitrix doesn't have a defense against his arm getting cut off, but one of the episodes of the show literally revolves around a villain trying to cut his arm off and the Omnitrix interfered. Alright, I'm done complaining, and so I don't start a comment war, I will not be responding to intentionally argumentative replies to this comment as I don't enjoy fighting in comments, especially about something a few years old that I got tied of arguing about a week after it came out. Feel free to reply if you want though, I will read them even if I don't reply.
I agree on the first part but for everything well they used those aliens because there more iconic and Alien X isn't a multiversel singularity.

1) is a fair answer, but should have addressed in the video as it's very importent detail
2) is making very bold assumptions, that time even works that way, which both source materials i believe disagree with. And that even if that timeline disappears that Alien X would go with it, since they exist outside reality
people keep being babies about this one huh. It's true that the verdict could've been worded better, but there's nothing wrong with it at all. All the popular "debunks" only really go over potential ways to get Ben higher than he was in the episode, while completely disregarding Hal and the myriad ways he too is far far stronger than shown in the episode. Also, for some reason people are especially fixated on the killshot being wrong, when acting like the Omnitrix failsafe would prevent Hal from cutting off Ben's arm is silly. The fastest thing it has ever reacted to was the Big Bang, which Hal has gone several times faster than even without scaling him to anyone. Still don't get why this one is so hard to accept
tl;dr while they could've explained the verdict even more clearly i guess, stuff like Alien X not noticing the universe around him is phrased in a silly way for example, but literally nothing is wrong with this result. Hal is significantly stronger and faster than even what was said in the video, but even with just what was in the video, he's still stronger and faster than Alien X. Not to mention he resists every single thing in Alien X's arsenal, while the opposite isn't true. They were leaving out stuff, yes, but they literally always do that. It makes zero sense to want a Death Battle that includes literally all possible information, there's no good way to pace that as a video. And none of the stuff they left out changes the result, so why does it matter? Try reading the black boxes in the verdict. That's basically all you need and more, and that's not even half the stuff from Hal they left out.

I feel like this episode highlights the issues with death battle’s format. They combined multiple versions of GL but ignored the unique weaknesses of each version
It wasn't a composite Hal has been the same characters for years.
Why would they give Hal weaknesses that he overcame throughout his stories? And this isn’t combined versions, they bring up the Green Lanterns surviving Crisis to make the point that Hal was never reset, so it’s literally the exact same Hal during the Pre-Crisis and Post-Crisis events.

Stop believing everything Kuro tells you. Hal is the same character he was from Pre-Crisis and even shown to have memories of pre-crisis events. It doesn't make sense to have a weakness to yellow anymore since Hal overcame that weakness.

Waited for a time where I was less likely for replies. I don’t hate the result of Green Lantern winning. Since Ben didn’t have a way to siphon willpower, it really was a toss up of MANY possibilities. Since the willpower could do so much that was in the wheelhouse of Ben’s actual power players. If you have willpower on par with the god of willpower, you may need to play with weaknesses and not full overpowering. I know there were MANY cases Ben would’ve taken the win. But I can’t really hold against either winning. That’s what makes it more of a toss up. Arguments go both ways for this one.

Green Lantern stomps Ben 10 with ease, people need to stop being butthurt
Much like the Goku vs Superman Death Battles the amount of hate this gets is mainly due to a fanbase who puts way too much stock in the idea their God Mode character is undefeatable and gets unreasonably mad when that's clearly not the case.
Especially compared to the outright insanity that is DC comics characters.
Also because people can't seem to wrap their brains around the idea that the animation exists purely for show and isn't supposed to show how the battle would actually go.
The animation DOES matter. It's not the be all end all, but it DOES matter. Especially this time because of how they chose to portray Ben losing, which just doesn't work. It would be like if they did a battle against 2 people, and one of them was bullet proof, and the animation showed that character losing by getting shot by a normal gun. That MATTERS.
DC Comic characters are insane, but they can't just say no to gods that can warp reality across an entire multiverse. The "gods" green lantern has faced aren't ACTUALLY gods. They're very powerful, but they're not actually GODS. And from what I could dig up, he doesn't defeat them normally either, he usually needs some kind of deus ex machina or power boost or something of that sort. Like when he beat the guy that kidnapped the emotion gods? Yeah he doesn't know how he beat that guy. His ring just suddenly for no reason shot a beam that did the job, it's described like "for some reason, the ring fired a super laser". He doesn't fight GODS GODS he fights like "local" gods. He fights gods that can really fuck up a universe. Alien X can effect an entire multiverse on a whim and when the universe he's living in gets totally annihilated, he doesn't even notice it's happening. When your reality can be BLOWN UP and you turn around AFTERWARDS and go "Oh shit" and then just make a new universe like it's nothing, you're a BIT above a Lantern's pay grade.

A green lantern is NOT only limited by their will power, their will is the SOURCE of their power and Batman's strategy to beat Green Lantern was literally stemming from this fact. A simple TRICK took Green Lantern out.
He cannot kill a god that's capable of freely altering reality on an incomprehensible scale, such as Myxzptlk. The biggest bad I can find that he's defeated solo was basically, himself but evil. He has HELPED defeat really big bads, but he's not exactly soloing deities.
Imagine a villain that has the power to stop the speed force from existing.
Can the Flash defeat this villain? No.
Similarly, a being that can shut his ring off or just eat the energy itself, like some of Ben's transformations can certainly do, he just doesn't have a recourse to win.
If it were really just a matter of Hal wanting to do something, he'd just auto win every single fight.
He doesn't. He's lost before, and he'll lose again, and he'll win again as well. Again, worst case scenario, Alien X just has to WAIT and Hal's ring will run low on power and need to recharge. Then he can just teleport the ring into another dimension and turn Hal into a turnip.

I won’t lynch ya dude, I try not to be that way. I agree that there are some Ben10 fans out there who make us look bad, but the thing is, a lot of us feel like WE’RE the ones getting lynched, ya know? I personally agree with a lot of the Ink Tank’s points that they made in their videos, but I also realize that Green-Lantern and DC Heroes in general are pretty damn broken, And GL would certainly curb stomp MOST of Ben’s aliens. I’m actually a big DC fan myself. One of my Favorite Heroes Ever is Wally West Flash, so yeah, I’ve kinda been on both sides of this “Death Battle DC Bias” argument, and I can understand them both. With all that said however, I’d LOVE to see a rematch between Green-Lantern and 5YL Ben10!!!

Honestly, my biggest problem with this death battle is that alien x is completely indestructible. We've literally never seen anything hurt him. So it makes absolutely no sense for anything Hal did to work on him. I also hate how the way it green lantern ended up winning was cutting off Ben's arm when they literally say earlier in the video that the watch creates an energy blast to keep it from being removed. And then there's the fact that his arm was cut off in the series but the omnitrix controlled the severed arm or something like that
They do make note that Hal has shown that he can harm higher dimensional beings. Even if he isn't able to kill X, he has shown that he can harm him.

I greatly disagree with this death battle, not that I care about the victor, but I feel that the information to their point feels poorly explained and seems to contradict information given without going too into why things would go as they said. Like a lot of stuff mentioned in the predebate amounts to nothing. It sorta shows the flaws in how the death battles are made more than anything else to me, because it feels as if a level of nuance and creative thinking is ignored for a straight comparison of power, speed, and endurance. In the case of nuance, how an individual uses power can be important, like if I'm torching a tree vs waving fire in the air. Both be fire, but used very differently. (This is something I have more of a problem with later, with scaling cloud to one of the Bahamut's top speeds. Some speed takes building up, a bit of a difference from more agility based speed)

I actually did some research on Ben 10 after this and while I don't think they explained it right, I still agree with the outcome. The battle also didn't help the explanation, because the fight didn't end in a logical way.
How was that not logical? Cut off the weapon and Ben 10 is powerless. Green lantern could have been defeated the exact same way, Ive seen people snatch his ring off multiple times. They had the same weakness but Hal was smart/strong enough to make it happen, Ben wasn't.

Most of the Ben 10 fans were complaining about "Alien X should have know what Hal was doing and be able to follow him!" which, to be fair to them, could work theoretically with a thing in the Ben universe, where beings with powerful time abilities can detect changes to the timeline. However, it's never confirmed if Alien X's time powers are strong enough to grant him that sense, since he's only shown one time power(rewind) and it's not all that powerful.

Just letting you know, ðis battle was actually completely correct. Hal Jordan survived ðe Crisis, and oðer Green Lanterns such as Kilowog even mentioned remembering it. Ðe Crisis on Infintie Earþs was ðe event ðat destroyed ðe entire DC multiverse and created a singular universe wiþ new versions of almost every DC character. Ðe Green Lantern Corps was unaffected. Also, Hal is even faster ðan ðe Omnitrix's failsafe.

As a casual ben 10 fan, I was never that bummed out by the results. I kinda just shrugged and told myself that, yeah, alien x wouldn't be that far removed from anything the green lanterns have fought before. Sometimes you just have to accept that the DC universe is just that ridiculously overpowered.

Yellow/Fear: Can make constructs and illusions, there more fear the make there victims feel the more powerful they can get, are weak against blue Lanterns
Red/Anger: Sadly compare to other lanterns they can not make constructs but on the other hand do they compensate this by having the ability to make there blood into a plasma like energy witch they can shot from there mouths, there usually cant think things with clarity and there plasma energy attacks don't have effect over blue Lanterns
Orange/Greed: Can make an army of constructs made out of death victims, can steal and consume energy from other Lanterns ( expect from blue and indigo)
Blue/Hope: Can make constructs but acts more like a support to the other lanterns since if there near a green lantern they can bust there power by a lot and vice versa
Violet/Love: Can make crystal like constructs and if they have a strong love bond can generate more power
Indigo/Compassion: Compare to other Lanterns the don't channel there power from a ring but from a staff, they can teleport and can copy any other Lantern power (except for White and Black)
White/Life: Can use the powers of all the other Lanterns and can revive the dead, has access the positive side of the life equation
Black/Death: Can revive the dead, has access to the negative side of the life equation

I highly recommend watching InkTank’s debunking video of this Death Battle. You may be a little lost, but it’ll explain a lot of things that are wrong about how this played out.
They definitely got it right but to say Hal wins is a massive understatement. He just blitzes Ben before he can even use the Omnitrix. Hal also wouldn't be effected by the Alien X's time hax. There are plenty of people who think Ben wins for whatever reasons. But really the issue was execution. Hal wouldn't need to resort to cutting off his arm. But people HAVE to realize Death Battle primary objective is ENTERTAINMENT. Their researchers have also said this on multiple occasions.
I know people on the research team and they obviously don't always agree with one another. And they can be pretty dogmatic too.
In conclusion, result was fine but some of execution and downplay are what rubbed people the wrong way.

Mainly because the Omnitrix protects Ben from ALL kinds of attacks! 5 biggest mistakes from this Death Battle, 1. They didn't use the modern version of Ben 10 via being Omniverse Ben, 2. The didn't show the reaction timing of the Omnitrix, 3. Ben has a way of nulifying the ring with Feedback which can absorb the ring's willpower energy (Conductoids like Feedback can absorb all types of energy even the Anihilarg which can destroy a universe, the ring is just a battery for Feedback), 4. Alien X can do anything since it's a Multiverse + level being, and 5. Death Battle didn't use all of the knowledge from Ben 10 cause they thought Green Lantern can just win this with ease.

Nah, I'd say this fight was accurate. People give GL too much shit for being a jobber in most fights but considering the scale and upper levels of power DC cosmology has, this was more than reasonable. The biggest complaints of the fight was that the ending felt lackluster and disrespectful because at the time EVERYONE was complaining about an explosion death, and the analysis wasn't through enough for the results.

This death battle is accurate, DB just didn’t explain it very well. And yes, time travel would work. Sotoboro effect would only show you there’s disturbance in the time stream, not anything exact, and Hal is so fast he can change time before Alien X can react

Ok, so, this is a controversial episode for a couple reason. But honestly, I do think the outcome is correct. THAT SAID this is not a good episode. This episode did an absolutely awful job of making thier argument about why Ben loses. In thier podcast, death battle cast, they did go more in depth to explain why green lantern wins, and it does make sense. The problem is they didn't use those important arguments 8n the episode itself. It didnt help that the episode used young Ben in the animation and only used the original aliens, aside from alien x, making it seem like they didnt understand Ben or his fandom at all.
Long story short, while I think the outcome is correct, the episode is just... so bad in every way.
There's more to an episode than its analysis.

When has Ben ever used his own aliens to time travel though? We've only seen him use his aliens to dilate time, not move through it.
Not only that, DC and Ben 10 work on Time Travel Multiverse theory, so Hal time traveling to kill Ben means he created an Alternate Timeline, thus not killing the Ben he was fighting.
This is my attempt to add to the post-analysis to better explain the result
1-The Big Bang was theorized to had been moving at the speed of light, so Ben's Omnitrix wouldn't be able to react to Green Lantern, who they stated to be capable of moving several hundred times faster than Ben's Alien X
2-Ben's Omnitrix has failed before as the result of a special axe. A common misconception is that the Omnitrix protected him resulting in him being sent to the Null Void, but it was stated that it was the axe that sent him there. While the Omnitrix was able to move his hand with its AI, it wasn't able to prevent the axe from cutting his hand off
3-In the Ben 10 Universe, the Sottobro effect is a special effect that allows time manipulators to recognize and sense when time is altered. While Alien X was never shown to be capable of time travel, it's theorically possible that he can. But if Death Battle just accepts everything theoretical about the characters, then they have too much freedom to do what they want with who they want. They keep it to the official abilities and leave the theoretical to the scenarios. Even so, the Sottobro Effect wouldn't change the verdict. Green Lantern was calculated to be hundreds of times faster than Alien X after all. And in both universes, characters travel through the time stream like a road or a path, not as an instant portal. So Green Lantern would still outpace Alien X and reach Ben before Alien X can stop him.
4-While the spear thing really didn't show either of their full abilities, it is possible for Green Lantern to harm and possibly kill Alien X. The Ben 10 Universe never gives an official size of its universe, and thus it's considered to be the same size of ours, as arguing that it's bigger for the sake of arguing that it's biggereans you can argue that it's smaller for the sake of it. However, the DC universe is stated to be around a billion times bigger, and Green Lanterns who have the same abilities as Hal can survive the destruction of that universe, and have even held back similar forces. So Hal Jordan would be capable of dishing out a force Alien X has never withstood before. Especially since Celestial Sapiens are capable of being defeated by beings of similar power, aka Celestial Sapiens, thus proving that they are not infallible and unbeatable.
So those were four arguments I make against some of the more popular debunking statements. Hopefully it makes some people a little more understanding as to why Death Battle made Green Lantern win

@@painvillegaming4119 Well Death Battle's Calculation put Green Lantern at speeds faster than Alien X. In a popup box, they say that he's at minimum 750 times faster. My statement was based off of that. And while we don't know the exact limit of the Omnitrix AI's reaction, this is it's best speed feat. A character can be assumed to be able to move at a speed faster than what they've shown, but unless they outright see proof, Death Battle isn't going to calculate that speed unless they have a clear multiplier. Otherwise people can make up numbers all they want. For example: Izuku can beat Goku because we don't know his highest speed.
And the reason why I talked about the axe is because people bring it up when discussing a way that the Omnitrix protects Ben despite the fact that, like you said, it was the damaged prototype.

Personally I Despise and Disagree with this Death Battle, I’m aware that Many of my Favorite Characters would either win or lose, however this one felt more personal as Death Battle explores how Broken Green Lantern is but Not Ben, either if it’s a Animated Limitations or not having more Time Ben has a Arsenal Full of Different Types of Aliens that their Research isn’t well established or explained, the Ring might be more advanced than the Omnitrix however it’s system isn’t Easily Hackable and there’s More OP Aliens than just Alien X, not to mention Death Battle also hasn’t shown Hal defeats from Superman, Darkseid, Doomsday, or other Lanterns and while the Ring is Powered by Willpower, Ben has a Larger Imagination and IQ from a Young Age than even Hal, I Love the Music but this will remain as One of if Not my Less Favorite Death Battle that’s less from Bias and more from a Passion Perspective.

I don't think its correct since well first off allot of their math just doesn't pan out, other people have more spefics on that, but also Hal had a complex power thats hard to understand, but lets be real this should have been: Brainstorm figures out how to beat him, Alien X executes. I mean you have a Planet buster vs a cosmic being, Alien-X was 5x faster just on death battles math and despite how much they wanna say he can "Hang with the big boys like Superman" the truth is he almost always is holding out until Superman stops fighting him for something else. Congrats his plan to hold out was just as effective as Batman. Also saying he out willed the being of all will isnt that new, the lantern power BORROWS from that Deity, if necessary ALL OF IT can be channeled, on top of that Hal had his own willpower too which was already strong. Somewhere it was said beings didn't have Willpower without the Deities and i forget what it is, but something changed that so its not nearly as impressive as it sounds, seeing how you could just use their own power against them. I really don't have a leg in this race for a favorite, but when something is way more durable, way stronger, quite a bit faster, and has more intelligence than probably any creature. This looks like the easiest one sided match to call, and they somehow still called it like this?

this is the easiest one-sided match to call, it's just that you got everything wrong. it's one sided in HAL'S favor. among other things, ion was trying to STEAL hal's will and energy when he overpowered it. and already had for most lanterns in the universe.
If Green Lantern really wanted to, he could've probably just killed base Ben 10 before he even transformed, but he didn't because I mean, would you kill a literal ten year old who doesn't stand a chance? Also, people say Alien X can just go back in time along with Green Lantern to beat him, actually, no. Since Green Lantern killed Ben so quickly, the Ben he was fighting would have died before he could travel back. Even if he did, Green Lantern would just go back in time again and it would just keep repeating. Edit: Green Lantern is also 750x faster than Alien X so he can travel back in time faster than him so Alien X wouldn't be able to comprehend that and by the time he does realize he went back in time, the past Ben would already be spilt strawberry jam on the street, thus killing Alien X due to time laws and whatnot.

Yes, that CG Green Lantern was a cartoon, pretty sure it was on Cartoon Network. It was actually pretty good, too! There was a strong theme of dealing with consequences, identifying flaws in yourself and your mentors, admitting mistakes, and sticking to your own moral code. There was also a great slow burn romance between two of the cast that built into the finale in an unexpected way.
I love Ben 10. At least until the reboot. I definitely prefer him over any Green Lantern except Alan Scott(the original Green Lantern).

As a fan of both DC and Ben 10, the fight made me legitimately sick to watch >.> And I have some serious problems with it, as well as a couple from the Q&A, which I'll list below:
They attempted to say that Alien X can't access the Sotobro Effect because Ben 10k was only talking about Clockwork at the time. Clockwork may be able to manipulate time, but he still ultimately can't break the fundamental laws of it. Serena, one of the personalities of Alien X, in the form's debut episode, said that they can change the very nature of space and time. So, I'm expected to believe that a being who can change the fundamental laws of how time itself works can't see the Sotobro Effect, but a form that's weaker than him can? Yeah, how about no.
They tried to use Hal's inexperience as a defense when claiming that Batman stealing the ring shouldn't count, but then tried to use Ben's inexperience AGAINST him when giving Hal the means to win (cutting off his arm). They claimed that Vilgax tried to cut it off, so Hal should be able to as well. First of all, Vilgax had extensive knowledge of how the Omnitrix prototype worked, and the device he had Ben locked in was specifically designed to contain the Omnitrix. Hal doesn't possess this knowledge, so he wouldn't be able to easily bypass the defenses. Secondly, Vilgax never even got the chance to try, because Max intercepted him. After that, the only other person I can recall trying to cut off Ben's arm was Sunder in Alien Force, and he failed miserably (even using an axe that has an edge made out of hard-light, AKA the very same type of energy Hal's constructs are made of).
I've also had people telling me that because cutting off his arm isn't an instant kill move, the anti-death failsafe wouldn't activate. Neither is Zs'Skayr attempting to possess Ben's body in the original series (episode title Ghostfreaked Out), but the AI deemed it a sufficient enough threat to trigger the failsafe regardless , 6:15 where the hell did they get this information? i agree that the wearer of the omnitrix will have a cool down normally when changing

I wouldn't say I'm "in touch" with the Death Battle community, but I don't think it's necessarily nthe result of this battle that people disagree with, it's the way Ben 10 was represented. Death Battle generally gives the combatants their optimized abilities, gadgets, and skills across all mediums so long as the primary version of the character can theoretically accomplish the same feats. But they kinda screwed up with Ben. The version the used was his kid version, they ignored the fact that he started putting effort into training in martial arts in the later series, the Omnitrix upgrades he got in later shows, and he also has used weapons, tech, and gadgets as well. Personally, I don't think any of this would actually change the outcome, but it still means that Death Battle undersold what Ben could actually do.
Using his most popular look didn't really change anything other than his dialogue like how botw link was pulling out masks and ocarinas

@@SufferingSuccotash These aren't my complaints, they're other people's. I've got no issues with this stuff being left out because it wouldn't change anything IMO. But these are the reasons I've seen people complain about this DB and I've even seen these same complaints in THIS comment section. As I said, I don't think anything that DB left out for Ben 10 like his Ultimate Alien transformations, martial arts, use of armor in either his human or alien states, etc. would change the outcome at all since it all pales in comparison to Alien X. And I also recognize that choosing his child form was just an aesthetic choice so that he would be more recognizable in the thumbnail and in video clips, but again, I've seen people complaint about that even here. What I was saying is that they left out a lot of information on Ben, and chose a version of him that doesn't visually represent him at his strongest, and that's what I suspect created the controversy, even though I don't see how it could change the outcome. This battle ultimately come down to "can/would Ben be able to use Alien X to win before Hal has a chance to kill him?" and I agree with DB's assessment that he couldn't, largely thanks to Hal's time travel and the fact that Ben is a vulnerable human when he isn't transformed.
They used Classic Ben because he's his most iconic look but he still got his skill and experience and a lot of his gadgets were one offs.

There's a distinct difference in power between someone who CAN survive a universal destruction, and someone who can get hit by it and not even notice. He then recreates the entire universe, which is ILLEGAL so we know it's a thing Celestialsapiens can just do on a whim. On a whim Celestialsapiens can alter any aspect of reality they want across the entire multiverse, that's literally how art style discrepancies are explained in the show itself.

According to the writers as well, Alien X COULD become Omnipotent if he chose to, however other Celestialsapiens are likely to intervene. So he's not truly omnipotent, but he is as close as a being can get. Think Living Tribunal vs One Above All. While BEN is not all knowing, we know he can acquire any information he desires as he recreated the ENTIRE universe from memories HE DID NOT HAVE. The entire universe was exactly the same, the only differences were in things BEN who is a human, personally remembered, but remembered incorrectly or some other reason impulsed him to make changes, which Celestialsapiens are known to do all the time anyway.

The omnitrix chose Feedback because he worked, and Alien X has the drawback of not being able to act without a vote. Feedback was the better option because while he's weaker, he's strong enough to protect Ben and get the job done efficiently. Also, Ben doesn't like using Alien X in general. He prefers to not go OP if he can help it. Alien X BARELY shows up in the ENTIRE history of the show, and for a big chunk of that screen time he's doing nothing. When Ben gets control of him he still uses him like ONCE and it was because his FRIENDS were being like mind controlled I think and he wanted to be 100% sure he could handle them without hurting them. He could've done anything and he only used Alien X to restrain them. Ben is KNOWN for getting vast cosmic power, and just not using it. He doesn't want it. Even if it could solve all the problems in the universe, he doesn't want one person having unlimited power. Including himself.
Reason why people think Ben should have won
1. The omnitrix would have transformed Ben into some to protect him from lossing his am
2. Alien X has the abillity to feel time travel and could have followed Hal back in time
both of which are confirmed and shown to be false.
Not true literally many times where Ben could have easily killed the omnitrix turned him into an alien like when Ben caught the Big Bang
@@langdonledwig3734 and other times it's done nothing, like when he outright died onscreen, the entire episode where microscopic people were attacking gravvatack's core, many times he's almost suffocated, etc. and any time when he's attacked with mana.

This episode, poor explanation within it aside (which their Q & A generally addresses well enough), actually picked the correct winner, to the point where when I was also looking into both characters I couldn't even truly find a reason why Ben 10 would win because Hal either matched his best feats or exceeded them, often by a significant margin. People can try to say until they're blue in the face why Ben 10 wins, but he just doesn't, Hal always has something about him than can be said to combat that (or what they're saying isn't true, frankly). Just shows how fanboyism can cloud judgment when other episodes like Carnage vs. Lucy are as crazy inaccurate as Ben 10 fans say this episode was and the other episode's barely ever talked about as being inaccurate. The only way the show could've said Ben 10 wins was if they treated this like they did Carnage vs. Lucy and big-upped Ben 10 in a way which isn't normal for him and whiff much of Hal's comic history.

Guess I'll give my thought on this one.
The result was wrong *in my opinion* but not nearly as stupid as a lot of people claim.
Hal was definitely faster than the omnitrix, he could definitely kill Ben before he goes alien x. They actually say it up that box at 22:16, the fact they don't say it is really dumb though imo.
The problem is that, while he *could,* i doubt he *would.* hal so frequently gets caught of guard by so many characters massively slower than himself. Its a matter of "would hal kill ben before he goes alien x" and Personally, I think alien x would happen first.
As for alien x vs hal himself, my personal take is both of their hax probably wouldn't work on each other, so it'd come down to who is stronger, and I'm sorry, but you cannot convince me of universal hal at all. So in my opinion, it'd be a long, drawn out fight before alien x physically kills hal.
Also, seeing as I've seen people argue it, no ben does not have any options of killing hal without alien x, none of them are even close to being fast or strong enough.
Also, the fight itself was honestly great. I genuinely think the the fight did ben justice and emerald heroes is honestly one of my favourite episode scores.

Since both can travel in time , they cancel each other, But an alien capable of altering time in the ben 10 Universe can sense time alterations (Sotobro Effect) So X has advantage nullifying Hal's time travel while Hal doesn't have a counter.
Btw Alien X only needs a thought and that would be All , Hal would be gone in an instant.

Eh. My reason for being ok with the winner is because I don’t think Ben had much to hold back Hal’s willpower and even if he did, he’d have to know the yellow fear weakness IMMEDIATELY. And that’s the ONLY reason I leaned towards Hal in this battle. This one was just a strange battle that could go either way depending what happened in it. This was one where there were just TOO many possibilities. Plus Ben preferred regular brawlers most of the time.
@@Kaempfdog Alien X can freely alter any detail of the entire multiverse with a single thought. Ben 10, as the series progressed, went through a number of visual changes, art styles shift and different animators and such.
These changes, actually have a canon explanation in universe. It's the Celestialsapiens. They do it. They just desire things to be different across all realities, and it happens. They can create entire universes SO EASILY as a society they've actually agreed to make it ILLEGAL. Ben had to go on TRIAL for breaking their laws when he recreated his universe. That trial was a trial by combat, and Ben won it by taking full control of Alien X so he could move about normally without having to debate. HE BEAT A LITERAL GOD WARRIOR, WHO JUST COULDN'T HURT HIM! Another Celestialsapien was literally wailing on Alien X while Ben berated the 2 personalities, and he just couldn't hurt him at all. Not even the godly version of a bruise. Alien X is THAT much stronger than what you would assume is their best warrior.
Alien X can do LITERALLY anything Hal can do, and easier, with NO energy limits which Hal has. The WORST case scenario in this battle is Hal attacks Alien X over and over and over until he runs out of power and Alien X just slaps him out of existence.
There's actually a character in DC that has powers pretty similar to Alien X, his name is Mr Myxzptlk. He can basically alter the 3rd dimensional universe anyway he wants, because he's from a HIGHER dimension, just like Celestialsapiens. Green Lantern, any of them, can do NOTHING about this guy. NOTHING. He can do whatever the hell he wants to the entire universe and Hal just has to accept it and hope Superman wins the game Myxzptlk likes to play with him.
The Joker actually gets Myxzptlk's powers in one comic, and Green lantern can't do ANYTHING about it. All his powers are worthless in the face of his vast reality warping abilities.
In fact, Deus Ex Machina seems to occur A LOT in Green Lantern. That scene where he's firing a super laser at the guy who stole the emotion gods?
Yeah the way that was described in my own research, is he doesn't know what even happened. That beam just HAPPENED and it beat the bad guy and Hal doesn't know where it came from. It's a literal deus ex machina beam. The power rings are WILDLY inconsistent in whether they'll protect their wearer from the end of the multiverse itself, or will block like..... some dude's punch.
Hal is 100% universal, DC has hundreds of Universal feats that Hal can scale too, hell Universal is seen as a LOW BALL! Multiversal Hal makes more sense since he scales to Kilowag who survived the erasure of the DC multiverse

But I've read the issue and, truth be told, considering he is an immortal planet eater, it was still pretty ballsy.
I don't enjoy this fight they got both characters personality wrong, didn't utilize both of their powers like the actual characters would, the stats are questionable for both, bad art and they got the wrong winner but that last one is really just me but still
I won't disagree on most of what you said since that's personal preference but the stats were fine.

Alien x wins and only looses because THEY PREFER DRAGON BALL TYPES OF FIGHTS AND NOT CREARIVE FIGHTS. The omnitrix has multiple defenses against being detached they just didn't use them and most of them weren't revealed. For the alien x one, IT TOOK ANOTHER ALIEN X TO BEAT HIM. Ben has an alien named jetray, it can cross the universe in under an hour, we saw him do it
Non of the failsafe's would protect Ben from Hal and Jetray crossed a galaxy not the universe and even if he did the DC universe is much bigger.
