Being a 76 yr. old widow, I am about to take my first solo trip from Ga. to New England to visit family and friends. My late husband and I had RV's for years and when he passed away suddenly in 2017, I sold our Itasca 31 ft. Class C. Never dreamed I would ever have another RV. But I now have a 2022 25 ft. Class C to travel in with my dog. It is somewhat daunting to do this alone. To be part of a community is so important. I showed dogs for years, had that community. We raised and showed llamas for years and had that community. I look forward to having a new community with other women solo travelers. Your video was so heartwarming to me and know the RV community is such a great one to have. Thank you for your great family videos and the memories you are making for your family.
Best of luck on your travels! Relax and have fun, you can do this! We women are stronger than we give ourselves credit for! RV wise I knew a great deal but house wise? That was a different kettle of fish! My better half was of the opinion that you do inside, I handle outside! I had no clue how to run a snowblower or power mower! But I learned! We women can do anything we put our mind to! New adventures!
My dad help with a group a solo gal, that her class-B was stolen, and when she found it everything of value was gutted out. They got the parts she needed and got her back on her feet. Community can get you through the lows and through the highs too.
I can't believe it has been 8 years. I remember your first departure. I have watched Hensley grow up on here and then little JJ 's arrival. I watched these friendships form. I travel vicariously through your videos. Thanks for sharing.
IF anyone ever has any doubts about their immediate family and marriage while living in an RV, I can say from experience, our family is closer, our daughters relationship is strengthened and our marriage is better now than ever before.
@@LessJunkMoreJourney That is right. The many memories that you have. My husband and I we would take our 2 kids camping all summer long and we all had a blast. Now our kids are in their own family we go camping with them. They still remember the times we went camping.
Preach it Nathan and Marissa💛💙💙💜❤️🤗🤗🤗🤗 Fulltimers for 3 years....love this lifestyle...it's fun but only if you are ready for adventures of all kinds ...love what you are doing to spread the word, inform and share with our RV community 😊

These connections within the rv community is exactly like our experiences in the military. We have friends all over the country that we met at different duty stations. My first friend I made in 1984 in California is still my friend today. She lives in Alabama and we are in Connecticut. Community and those friends are forever... AWESOME VIDEO💕
WOW this was a great video. It made me realize how long I’ve been watching you. I also felt the emotion coming from talking about Team Journey. I can’t believe your having your first event in my state and I don’t have an RV. I’m 😞. Maybe could you do a LIVE show while your in Florida at Margaritaville. That would be EPIC.
If you are interested, we have a few of the cabins blocked off at a good discount if you don’t have an RV. You can check it out. www.teamjourneyhuddle.com
Love hearing about how you made all these connections throughout the years of RVing fulltime and how the connections kept coming around your way. Very inspiring. You really do have to make it happen and be courageous to reach out.
A few of the vanlifers I follow have made similar comments recently. Finding their community has made them feel like the lifestyle is sustainable long-term.
Hubby and I agreed to go full time in 10 years about 6 months ago. We are both so excited! Rn we have a few acres and a beautiful home. Our son is living with us while he goes through college and some on the job training as an electrician! We aren't sure at this point what we will do with our home, but we have time. Hearing about your travels and the friendships you have makes me look forward to our time so much more!
You two are so genuine and open. I love the fact you’re sharing your story. I will definitely help young and mature RVers understand what they may experience.
My husband and I are planning on retiring to RV life in two years. I am 54 by March of next year and he just turned 62. I hope we find the community that you have found! Still a little nervous about finding the right vehicle for us to travel the country but I am sure God will provide!
It's been a fun ride watching you guys for a few years. Keep up the great work and great content. Congratulations on achievements you have set for yourself.
My husband and I dream of the RV life full time. We are working on fixing somethings so hopefully we can in about 2 years. Fingers crossed. Love yall. Be safe. Have a great week.
We all need community (friends). God did not create us to be alone. Loneliness is too common for people everywhere no matter how they live. I'm so glad you're still on your journey, I've so enjoyed following you for years (and watching your adorable children have adventures and grow). Once again, thanks for sharing. Shelley from San Diego.
Have been following you since Hensley was little and look forward every Sunday to your post. Thanks for sharing the beautiful views since I am unable to it means alot!!👍
I don't understan why so many RUclipsr RV's have so much trouble. We were full time over 10 years and now part time. We never regreted it. Never had big problems. Of course the first year was going from rally to rally learning all we needed to maintain the RV and to establish community. It is the best of life.
We have had an amazing 8 years! Did you want her the video? We explained how we found community and how that changed our journey for the better. We love this life!
We are planning full time rv life in the every near future. I don’t think loneliness will be an issue for us because we don’t see anyone in our hometown now. We rarely go out, have no mutual friends and all of my close friends are in various states. So for me it’s a way to see people I normally don’t see. We don’t have small kids so being able to explore this beautiful country is what I’m most looking forward to and changing up my scenery.
Well done & said. I can't believe its been 7 years since you went "live". you were the first channels I followed. I had a hard time imagining how a young couple with a toddler could just take off. Now I see it. We are very long time RV-r's but weekend warriors until 3+ years ago. We now take a 3-6 day trip 1x a month plus a Winter snow bird trip for 5-6 weeks and a end of summer trip for 2-4 weeks. I do find on the long trips the "lack of community" you described. I usually end up talking to a few others at campsites. We are off grid most of the time. I'm pretty much a DIY fix guy and carry a lot of tools in my truck. It's helped me and have come to the rescue a few times for others. We live in the PNW so its a bit of a journey to see you in FL, but if one ever happens this side of the Rockies, we'll make an honest effort.
Nathan and Marrisa... here's something from back in the traveling circus days. Instead of saying, "Goodbye" or "Seeya later", they would say, "See you down the road"; knowing they would cross paths again somewhere down the road.
I've been following you guys from the very beginning and still dreaming of going full time with my kids ( and dogs) just haven't saved quite enough yet. Had a dream that we were living in a RV last night and about to hit route 66. 🙂
Great vlog, doesn't time fly. Can't believe I've been following you guys for 5 years. Glad you never gave up, your lives are so much richer for it. Lots of love to you both and your family. ❤🤗🇬🇧
My hubby and I have been on the road for a year. We are retired. Loneliness is indeed the hardest part. Thought we would meet people but that hasn’t happened. Maybe it’s different for us older people- no kids, no you tube channel.
Thank you for this post. My husband and I have RV'ed since 1993 out in the NW. Then we came back to Florida to be close to my parents and now caring for my Dad. I thought at one point we would never RV again. This post has given me hope that we will be able to RV again.
We are members of team journey and love it. My wife was in the military has friends all over the country. That is her community. Nathan and Marissa inspired us to rv to another state this summer and we reconnected. It's just the beginning for us. Thank you so much for how you inspired me. Seeing you overcome your struggles convined me I can do this and I will get thru it...thank you Mike and Laurel Nowak
I retired for a 2nd time in May and my husband and I are taking possession of our 5th wheel next Friday and dream of what you describe. We're taking our 1st trip for my birthday in October and are so excited!
Oh thank you for making this video! We don’t have small kids but I love watching you guys grow and travel with your kiddos. I agree with you about community, we tried it for 6 months and we just could not find community we are outgoing people and the loss of church community and family really made the 6 months lonely, we visited family along the way in CA, but still found it lonely. So now we go for 2 months at a time and come home for a few months and go back out so we have community at home. So thank you for making this video and giving me ideas
We don’t fulltime but the RV community has a LOT of similarities with the biker community!! Always there for each other and total understanding of the “reasons” we do it ❤️
What a great video, very eye opening. It actually made me regret not talking to you longer, or inviting you to campfire when I met you guys in Yosemite. I was thinking that I was encroaching on your personal space and time because I was so excited to see you guys, but you didn't know me from Adam. Next time, because I too believe connections continue to happen, I will make more of an effort to be part of the 'on the road' community. And if you are in Santa Cruz (or CA in general) please consider us (Robin & Derek) part of your community. Sadly, I don't think your meet up in FL is doable for us this year, but I will keep a watchful eye for others. Thanks again for ALL you guys do to make RVing that much better!
Great video! Can’t believe you’ve been doing Rv living for 7 years plus. I have been watching you both for 4 years out of the 7. I can’t believe it. It feels like it was only yesterday. I remember those issues you had with the tires in Air Stream. And your truck. That is memories there. Glad you met up people who could help you fixing the Rv. And I’m glad you are going to go out and make more memories. Happy anniversary Nathan and Marissa. I’m ready for the journey with you. It’s like I’m there. Have a great night and week and see you soon!
Funny story...May, 2020... We were looking to get rid of our Open Range Lite 5th wheel (so many slide problems) when we found this awesome, used, mid-room bunk in New York. We live in Iowa. We emailed back and forth, and really it came down to if we wanted something that long or not. Decided we would go look at it, but It had sold! Then, a week or so later, we were still deciding between that model and the shorter Solitude 310, and the one in NY was available again! There was just something in the communication that gave me an "uh-oh" feeling and we decided to go with the 310. Pretty sure the mid-bunk was the same one y'all went to get! We saw your original video about it and I told my husband then that I was sure it was the same 5th wheel! We LOVE our 310! It's just the 2 of us and we travel in it about 4-5 weeks/year, and are weekend warriors. We boondock in the mountains (like pull off the road, go through a ditch to get to a spot) a lot, so that was also part of the decision to get the shorter 5th wheel. We plan on part-timing (3-4 months/year) starting in September next year when my husband retires. Love watching your videos and watching the kiddos grow! Hope to meet up with you someday!
16 months in, I have experienced loneliness too...hubby can go out and talk to anyone so don't feel he knows I am lonely. I found the hot tub or pool area is good spot to meet up with people to have a conversations...plus we are returning to some areas we liked to see some old .new friends again...hope our community will grow too
Man, How time fly's! I was going down memory lane with you two in this video as well. Watched the kids grow up on you tube! Hope to see you guys on the road now that we are retired and traveling! take care guys!
Thank you guys so much for this inspiring video. My husband is retiring next year and we will be buying an RV to travel full time. Community part has been my only concern. Your video confirms we will need to just step out of our comfort zone. Thanks again, safe travels
This is a really good episode. I am single and do not full-time; however, my almost instant family is Airstreamers. I do not have the video channel for people to know who I am to reach out. The connection is semi-automatic so that helps me and if there is an Airstream park, it is really special. This summer in a week and a half I met some really nice people, celebrated two birthdays with them, shared stories and learned much from people who traveled much more than me.
Love your videos. You are an encouragement to new and seasoned RVers. Since there are so many new RVers out there would you consider doing a video on how to be a good camper? Some people need to know (or a reminder) that you pick up your trash and not leave it behind, you keep your kids from running wild, you watch your TV or listen to music with the volume so you can hear it but the rest of the campground can't, you respect quiet time, and so on. It shouldn't have to be said but somehow these days it does.
I will be on my way to Alaska for the 1st time in just a few days, no RV'ing but tent camping. 4 old guys that think we are still tough, I guess we will see. Enjoy the road and stay safe.
Nathan and Marissa, You're just cool dudes! I have been watching your videos for several years. Each video has something to see and something to learn. Each video has a lot of positivity and emotionality. You are great fellows. It is very cool that you always have where and to whom to return. Your family is always in touch with you. Marissa, your sister Mackenzie is the guardian angel of your family. It is present in many of your videos. I hope Mackenzie helps you as much as possible. Thank you very much for what you are doing. Happy travels and adventures.
@@LessJunkMoreJourney, Whatever you do to stop you from doing, take care of yourself, your children and your loved ones. Good luck and prosperity to you and your channel.
So agree with the community! God made us to fellowship! We did full time for a year & can’t wait to go back sometime! God bless you & thank you for what you do! ❤️
Been watching for years. Recently jumped in and went on our first journey this past weekend. Looking forward to more journeys soon and more permanently.
Awesome video. I feel like community is the key to less junk more journey even if you aren’t full timing. STUFF doesn’t make life more fun or fulfilling. Community does. It was really fun watching the replay of your last 8 years!!!!! And seeing how all the connections came together. Many blessings on this next season. Y’all make my heart happy.
We only met one couple on the road ,they started a RUclips channel it's called Duran clan 6 ,they are native to Colorado we met them at Lathrop state park . This was before they went full time.
We like RVING but not full time-We need to come home and we need to leave home -It gives us variety-And we need to see our Home Community of Friends and Family-Home base is a must 🚌🇺🇸
You two are awesome! Thanks for sharing "the inside tips" of your journey over the last 8 years with us! I felt like I was sitting right there in your RV with you! I've been watching you on and off for the last 4 or so years and enjoy each video you share with us. I think it's wonderful the way you have formed a "community" of friendships along the way!!! 🤩I'm a "wanna be" RV-ER". AT 78 I just live the RV life vicariously through you and some of the other full time RV people. I have been considering just getting something like a Toyota Sienna, gutting it, and tuning it into an small RV just for small "Trips". We shall see........ I'm so happy for your family and the adventurous life you live. How lucky for your kido's to get to learn "hands on" about life and all the wonderful places, people and "things they visit as you travel!!! I truly beleive they are getting a better, and a more rounded education as you travel than the average kid growing up that stays in "one" place! 👌💞
Community is so very important! the more the merrier. Wow 8 years flew by feels like yesterday i sent those books for Hensley!congrats on your first event!! and i seen your harvest host ad, right on thumbs up!
I so enjoyed seeing your relationship grow with Finding Your Someday. It was the neatest thing! I also enjoy seeing Marissa sister's Mackenzie! I wish she would be on the camera more! I miss seeing you do your different adventures like hiking and such. That was what drew me to your channel! I must say though, seeing your travels makes me want to get on the road that much more! I will probably never be a full-time RVer, but maybe 3 months at a time will work for me! I also love that you go back to your hometown to see your family. Those relationships should always be the most important. Can't wait to see your next season! I also think your Season 27 will be either Europe or Iceland. Am I close? :)
Wow, you guys were probably one the first RV family I started to follow, way back then. Even got your first #lessjunk #morejourney t-shirts. Every flashback you showed looked very familiar to me, even got tears in my eye again when told that you guys were pregnant. Thanks for taking us along memory lane and sharing your experiences.
Question: you guys have had a Class A, the airstream and two 5th wheels. I think I get why you moved away from the airstream…just to small for your family, but why do you prefer the 5th wheel over the Class A. Is it that the 5th wheel gives you more room? The reason I ask is because I’m just starting to look for a new rig. Many years ago I had a Class A w/o slides, but I’m leaning toward the 5th wheel as they just feel roomier, they’re more homey, and they’re floorplans are superior. I also don’t like the fact that when there’s a mechanical problem with a motor coach, you basically have no home until the issue is fixed which can take days, if not weeks to repair. I’d really like to hear your thoughts if you don’t mind as you guys have been full-time for years and have experience with the different rigs. Thank you.
Great advice. Love your family and been following along almost since the beginning. It has been fun watching your travels with your growing family. Thanks for taking us along on your journey.
Just found your channel from England! We are a young family who vlog our caravan adventures 😍 would love to do it full time! We look forward to following your adventures! Thanks for the inspiration! 😊
You know I’m way more lonely when I’m at home. Because most all my family has died in the last three years. I’m the only one that tries to eat healthy and I am fine but I get more interaction at a truck stop than I do at home. I live in a real nice neighborhood people have all they need and they don’t visit with anybody around them. So I have more fun in an RV park, visiting with my neighbors walking my dog it’s easy to share food at barbecues potlucks it’s a lot of fun. I’m staying at one right now that’s $390 for the whole month. That includes electric and all services. That’s less expensive than driving all around searching and Laundromats here. I am within walking distance to shopping and restaurants. Crescent City California. Anyway heading home soon now that most of the heat is over.
Great video! I loved all the older clips and I find I really miss the pink boots. Community is great! Stay safe and happy travels. Love from A Tennessee gal in Colorado!
What a great video to reminisce all the past journeys and friendships you've acquired. I can understand that loneliness even being in a sticks and bricks. Great job you two, sounds fantastic.
I really liked seeing the pictures of Hensley when she was younger, she certainly has grown up. What ever happened to her pink boots, they were sort of her signature for a long time. I would love to be at the huddle but the timing isn't good. Maybe another time. Keep the good stuff coming guys and give the kids a hug for me.
Great video! My wife and I are planning to go on the road within the next six months. This video has really put some things into perspective that I have been hesitant about. I am seeing that community and friendships are very important on the road.
I would concur as I lived in a van 5.5 ft months in the UK. It's a thing that a lot of RUclipsrs miss or they just give up and it applies to any area of life not just van life. God and community ❤️👍🙏
How exciting! I am still in the dreaming and planning phase. I have been dreaming and planning the whole time you have been on the road! I cannot make the inaugural event (on my birthday weekend!), but a TeamJourney Huddle is now on my bucket list.

I retired for a 2nd time in May and my husband and I are taking possession of our 5th wheel next Friday and dream of what you describe. We're taking our 1st trip for my birthday in October and are so excited!
Yah!
Always there for each other and total understanding of the “reasons” we do it ❤️
You use steel to sharpen steel, and one friend sharpens another. Proverbs 27:17 (MSG)
Thank you for posting this proverb. I had not heard it.
Thanks for being so candid. Most people wouldn't understand. You've got community back home too. Great video friends.
We love us some Cookeville Tennessee ❤️
What a wonderful video. You two are just so special.
Thank you!
Voting is very important this year.
What a Blessing.......and the review of the moment of revealing JJ, was in tears!
Wow! Great sentiment! My second favorite video of yours (Jason finding out you were gonna have another baby will always be my first)!
Wow, might have been the same one!
Thanks for sharing your journey with us. Nice to take a look at where you have been and what suited you and when.
I will be on my way to Alaska for the 1st time in just a few days, no RV'ing but tent camping. 4 old guys that think we are still tough, I guess we will see. Enjoy the road and stay safe.
Thank you for this video. I started full time recently and I am looking forward to see where this takes me.
Congrats! That’s exciting l!
Thank you so much ❤️
@@LessJunkMoreJourney, Whatever you do to stop you from doing, take care of yourself, your children and your loved ones.
You all are the best!
Y’all make my heart happy.
fantastic video!!! We retire in July 2023, and will RV most of the yr, and back home for bits of time. Love watching your videos!
Awesome! Thank you!
Loved the history of your journey! We're fixing to start our full-time RV adventure.
Trent and Siobhan.
How cool is that!! ❤️
Sounds like an epic event can't wait to see the videos from the huddle. Thanks for sharing and as always stay safe and God bless love ya Nancy
Amazing to see your adventure. 100% agree about the RV community. Everyone is so nice and welcoming.
Michigander here, glad you were able to tour our wonderful state!
We loved Michigan.
We only met one couple on the road ,they started a RUclips channel it's called Duran clan 6 ,they are native to Colorado we met them at Lathrop state park . This was before they went full time.
We like RVING but not full time-We need to come home and we need to leave home -It gives us variety-And we need to see our Home Community of Friends and Family-Home base is a must 🚌🇺🇸
Great video guys!! The event sounds like fun. Once we start traveling in December we would love to be able to go to one of your handles. Be safe guys.
Thank you so much.
Your BEST VIDEO EVER!!!!
Tx for sharing your story.
Community is so very important! the more the merrier. Wow 8 years flew by feels like yesterday i sent those books for Hensley!congrats on your first event!! and i seen your harvest host ad, right on thumbs up!
Thank you.
What a lovely video. Thank you so much for sharing it.
Am I close? :)
Thank you for sharing your wonderful story. I'm looking forward to full time and meeting a great community.
Wow, thank you!
Awesome! Thank you!
Just found your channel from England! We are a young family who vlog our caravan adventures 😍 would love to do it full time! We look forward to following your adventures! Thanks for the inspiration! 😊
Welcome to the channel.
Excellent content. Your message is spot on. Community starts with intentional engagement. Very interesting.
You two are such a darling loving couple. Thank you for sharing your life with us all.
Aww thank you! We appreciate you traveling with us!
Thank you for sharing the insight of your journey and the lessons learned. The community art of this is cool to hear about.
Glad you enjoyed it, thank you.
So true.
Great video! I loved all the older clips and I find I really miss the pink boots. Community is great! Stay safe and happy travels. Love from A Tennessee gal in Colorado!
What a great video. And congratulations on your first upcoming event I am sure it will be a huge success. 👍🏻❤️
So excited for you and your event. I am sure it will fill up quickly.
What a great video to reminisce all the past journeys and friendships you've acquired. I can understand that loneliness even being in a sticks and bricks. Great job you two, sounds fantastic.
Awesome video. Thankyou for sharing.
Thanks for watching!
Wonderful video! I am so sad that we will be in the west coast in late October, early November. I hope we can connect at the next rally!!
I hope so too!
Great video! My wife and I are planning to go on the road within the next six months. This video has really put some things into perspective that I have been hesitant about. I am seeing that community and friendships are very important on the road.
Yes they are, glad it was helpful!
I would concur as I lived in a van 5.5 ft months in the UK. It's a thing that a lot of RUclipsrs miss or they just give up and it applies to any area of life not just van life. God and community ❤️👍🙏
I loved tonight’s video. Probably my favorite.
How exciting! I am still in the dreaming and planning phase. I have been dreaming and planning the whole time you have been on the road! I cannot make the inaugural event (on my birthday weekend!), but a TeamJourney Huddle is now on my bucket list.
Happy Birthday! Next time, but I do love birthday cake so that could have been extra fun 😉
Thank you. Hubby and I are older and we struggle with loneliness. WE HAVE Seen the most amazing things but miss people share it with....
You have to be intentional. Events and rallies have been so great for us.
