I left SF after living there for 25 years due to degrading conditions. After the 5th car break in, I was over SF and glad that I was. On top of that, the ridiculous rent is not worth the headache. It is sad what happened to that city.

I said the same, would never return and I live 1.5 hrs away. It went down the toilet w newscum at the wheel driving it off the road.

I was in San Francisco about 20 years ago and was advised not to go into certain areas. Now it looks like all areas are out of bounds. Looters even smashed the central shopping area to bits a couple of years ago. Obviously they needed to feed their families and the best way of doing that is to steal Luis Vuitton handbags. All the freaks and weirdos living cheek by jowl with the zombies in a city that just needs one more earthquake to sort it all out.
That was 3 years ago... You can walk around the city at 3:00 AM and not have any issues, the problems we face are property crimes from the homeless, who aren;t our citizens, they come from other states that don't want to support or fix their failures, and neither do we, so they come here thinkign they can get help, find out they can't then resort to property theft, but it isn't visible, our stores have armed security, the city has been issueing CCW's for 2 years now, and our DA has jsut proven she will not charge peopel for defending themselves. I don't see how having to deal with homeless from other states is our fault.
@@hydroponichomesteader6852 No, under $900 on the first offense is a misdemeanor, most other states it is $500-600 before it is a felony, and went into effect over 10 years ago, the jump in homeless issues and theft was in the last 3-4 years, and the homeless in the city aren't illegals, they are Americans, with a large majority from Utah, Arizona, New Mexico, Georgia, Alabama, & Missouri.. not south America, so how are Democrats in San Francisco at fault?
I also use to live in California, and enjoyed the trips to San Francisco, LA etc. Sad to see how nasty and stinky it has become. It is nothing like it use to be, California has become a dump, armpit of the country. Have no desire to go back and I loved it when I lived there in 70, 80, 90 to mid 2000's, a long time.

SF always had a population of seasonal "backpackers" that would spend the summer being homeless to "figure out life" before heading to college. In the last 3-4 years we have had Thousands of homeless or near homeless from other states show up here thinking they can get jobs and help to get out of homelessness, but we can't support all those people, so they are stuck and it's somehow our responsibility and our fault. We can't afford to ship them back home, and most don't want to go back home..

I'm in San Diego, back in 1999 I visited S.F. Right outside a nice night club I almost stepped on a giant piece of human crap, I'd never seen it on a sidewalk before. The locals I was with shrugged it off with a little pride. They conveyed they were helping the homeless by tolerating it. Amazing. I was glad we didn't have that problem in San Diego. Eventually that same mentality infected my city and now we have the same problems, we're just not as far along and S.F. or L.A. . But thanks to Dems and Biden San Diego is getting wrecked with migrants since title 42 lifted.
I was born and raised in San Diego and I currently live in San Francisco. I been seriously considering going back south. It's really bad here.

I use to live in Lake Merritt...I would walk my dog late at night ..wee hours in the morning...my friends say try that stunt now and see what happens. I went back last year smh ..homeless camps on the lake ..ppl setting up vendor boths ..car side shows at night...thugs walking around ....what the hell happened?

That was a great point regarding getting to people through comedy. That is something we used to get on a nightly basis from Carson/Letterman/Leno/Conan(sorry if I left someone out) and something we don't get from any of the disgraces that are on now.

I am 67yrs and was raised in San Francisco in the 60's 70's and 80's and it was the most beautiful city I worked downtown riding the cable car to work or walking and there was these famous twins, City of paris ,Imagin,Macy Pioneer Square, the Embarcdero, Sausalito, Goldengate
bridge etc. It was once the Golden State just like America we need our true America back. Lets rise up and speak truth not lies. Democrat cities only care about lining there own pockets and being Ponzi .

I used to live in SF in the late '80s-early '90s. Back then, it was a beautiful city, and there really were very few places we didn't feel safe after dark. Really makes me sad to see what it's become. Crime, ridiculous politics, taxes, homelessness, property values...it's just not livable for the average family today. Chicago, NYC, SF, LA...these cities need God pretty quickly, or we're going to lose them forever.

I always thought that 'public property', meaning sidewalks, streets, parks, etc. meant that no one person could use or dispose of that property as if it were their own. This principle reserved such places for everyone to use properly, safely and fairly, ensuring common access. It seems a violation of this principle that certain people get to use these places for shelter (and other bodily functions) in a way that unfairly denies other, more law abiding, citizens their proper use.
I live in Southern CA. Frisco was always a dump. Never been, never will.

A big problem is other states sending their homeless to California. The main problem is who people vote for. I grew up in SF in the 80s and that was the best time of my life. I will always remember those days but left CA 23 years ago and never looking back
People not sending homeless there the homeless now that laws are in place there that they can't be moved and is a homeless sanctuary so they all leave and go there that's why 50% of all homeless in the United States are in 1 state California but this is what yall vote for don't complain

10 yrs ago I visited SF, fishermans wharf one afternoon. I need a restroom, there were these bathroom pods. I waited 45 min before the door opened & out came a woman and 7 men. I dont know what went on. I got yelled at by her "husband". I didnt care I had a full bladder. I went in & operated everything with my feet.
I see a Chappelle thumbnail and a prominent Chappelle title and am presented with zero Chappelle.
