Love this. When I was very young, I didn’t have much money and Christmas presents to buy. So, I got some little shoe boxes, cigar boxes and school boxes. Used my glue gun and adhered batting, calico material, lace and ribbon to make keepsake boxes for the ladies in my family. I like what you did here much better though. (I now have the box I made for my grandma).

Good morning, Ann! I was checking the weather to see how cold it was (46 degrees) and if I needed a coat to go run errands, when I saw your video notification. Ann first, errands second! I don’t know who gets more enjoyment from your gift giving. The process is such fun, thrifting/shopping and creating a beautiful presentation. But the thoughtfulness of receiving a gift someone lovingly puts time and thought into, is pretty special. Love the ideas, especially where to find cigar boxes. Ann I just love your style ! Everything you make I can see actually having and using in my home. A lot of diys on RUclips may be pretty but they wouldn’t fit in my home. They’re often too glam or too rustic and primitive or too something. lol. But your classic vintage style is just perfect. I’m look forward to the home tour. This is exactly what I do with silver pieces. I have several pieces that were wedding gifts 30 plus years ago. Some pieces have been handed down to me. I now use them everyday. I keep the sugar set out by the coffee maker. I have trays to center my olive oil set by the stove and one to hold candles on the table. I have candlesticks on the island/bar. I just take 20 minutes to polish them up once a month. It is totally worth it.

Oh, I absolutely loved your channel video this morning. The gift ideas were amazing. I’ve never seen cigar boxes used as gift cylinders. I thought that was so unique. I’m not sure! I’m traveling and don’t have one in front of me. I found these boxes at the Dollar Tree. It’s the same match box that I’ve seen all of my life. 🥰 the images in the description are sized to fit that box perfectly.
What do you do about the smell of the cigar boxes?
