When the brother said he want his young sister to go to university, I can't help crying. He is a good brother, although life is not easy, but everything is possible with family.

My God, they speak Korean like a native. I get why the younger one is fluent and accent free, but the brother that came over when he was 14 ... wow, really impressed that he has no accent.

Why is it surprising? Especially at that age, it's should be as surprising as an African American speaking English.

@@Cxs1a3 I expect fluency from younger ones. But one that came over when he was 14 speaking accent free is little surprising. It's easy to obtain fluency. But it's nearly impossible to be accent free after the age of 10, 11, or 12.

Depends on the environment, if it's a multicultural, multiethnic place like NA/EU, then maybe. But keep in mind Korea is extremely monoethnic, monocultural, monolingual.

true, but school in korea is way more intensive and competitive. i know shes like in elementary school so the hours are basically like 0800 - 1300 sometimes later for extracurricular stuff, but if we are talking about high school, thats a whole new ballpark lol. school is basically from 0900 - 2200, sometimes later, due to evening self-studies (its the kids choice to do this, but college is super competitive so they gotta do all this extra stuff
