I do miss the aviators, but there is a cool glitch where if you equip the placeholder for it while in fba, then switch back to the bean body you’ll get completely black stunt runner shades
I like that you are so nuanced on it vs other rectubers who just lap it up like they can't possibly conceive any possible faults with it's implementation
I mean, I'm sure everyone is just trying to look on the bright side. I did too on my first video! After a few days in FBA though I definitely see some major flaws. Regardless, a team spent a long time making this I'm sure, so I don't want to be too insulting to the people behind that effort, you know?
@@Tarapeutic Yeah I know whatcha mean I just think it comes across as less authentic when you only have nice things to say or even worse defensively joke the people who don't like them- because all we need is another tele vs walker type division in RR lol q: I certainly have my own reservations but I'll admit that I'm more open to it after seeing your videos exploring it without the lens of "this is great and everyone else who disagrees are haters" type vibes I've seen elsewhere. But I didn't really mean to dunk on anyone else by that that, what I mean to say is you do a nice job of balancing both sides of how players feel about it rather than taking a staunch one-sided approach.
And yet, they seem less expressive. The "superior" expression breaks immersion. It's a bit of an eye opener for me as far as game design goes, realizing that a model with objectively superior movement can look so bad in motion compared to a simpler model without legs.
I like them both! But I'll be using them depending on the situation. For quests and other intense things, I'll use the bean avatar, if I'm doing a more causal, relaxing, talking to friends thing, I'll use the full body avatar!

I am honestly in love with Full body! I thought it would be bad and janky (it is) but you can make solid avatars and the hitboxes don't really affect the hitbox TOO much but sometimes in paintball I get hit from a paintball that is 5 feet away, once they fix all of the gloves I will probably not use bean avatars anymore to be honest.
before full body avatars were made i was a hater but now i want full body avatars maybe when there fixed but i already thing that rec room has made it look so good i want it although if u dont have sleeves it looks like ur as skinny as a pencil :)
I really wish you had made a segment about movement. It's amazing how much worse movement is with legs, and I can't explain why it's so much worse. Seeing people hop over a banister in the Rec Center is so natural with the bean bodies, but it's so jittery and weird with legs. Bean bodies will always be objectively superior when flying too. I'm surprised that you didn't cite any comments about this, since this is one of the worst and most jarring issues that breaks immersion, while also being the least likely to ever be fixed (it would basically require letting people have a setting to only view bean body versions of people).
I noticed a couple of times even recording this, my avatar was glitching a little on the footage. I need to go play more with FBA. Admittedly, most of my time has been standing still.
From my experience, the stretching arm issue is fixed. I also had an issue with the spiky punk bracelets, they would stretch whenever I would flex my wrists, resulting in sort of pseudo-wolverine claws. No idea if this’ll be fixed at all. Hockey shirts also look horrible in FBA. Other than a few minor gripes I have with them I think they’re fine.
I think that the walking vs teleporting situation is gonna happen all over again when everyone gets access to it like FBA’s are gonna say that the beans are cheating because their hitbox is smaller

I think they need to add a variety of pants and shoes, none of them match my outfit in full body. The sleeves on the S rank outfits for Isle and Jumbo don't match, on my original outfit, S+ Crescendo outfit, the shades are off as well, the sleeves and pants are a little brighter than what they're suppose to be, so I was disappointed with that. I hate the nose, every time I switch to full body, I always to get rid of the nose, it looks ridiculous with it. The legs are part of the hit detection in PVPs, such as paintball and laser tag, don't play them in full body, that's what I have about full body avatars
The part that I've realized bugs me the most are the noses. I can't explain why, but RecRoom faces look WAY better without noses. The worst part though is that the brand has been intentionally eroded. The RecRoom bean bodies brought a superior level of immersion that models with legs can't bring to VR, and it's probably too late for that realization to become relevant to the development roadmap (most people, likely including RecRoom's own UX design team, don't think or care enough about UX design as I do and I understand why, don't get me wrong).

That veteran players part is true not really sure if this is what you mean by veteran players but I have A level 36 or 37 account that was made in November of 2019 and it does not have the full body avatars
It's out for SOME Level 50s. So, you'll know if you have it by going into Customize in your dorm and then if you can change body types, you've got FBA.
Personally I think FBA might divide the community and create a lot of toxicity as if there wasn't enough of that already. I don't think that's the fault of RecRoom but the fault of the players that can't respect other people's personal preference.
I think that the rezone that its so unpolished is because they wanted to get feedback early so they can make it the best before they are fully released so that they wouldn't have to work on them with no feed back and release it fully with a tone of dislikes and bugs and then have to work on them even more witch would make them take way longer to be done.

Don’t forget the fact you can get shot In the leg and the arm which only makes it harder

I was on the fence about the FBAs, but I'm starting to really like them! They express a lot more body language than the old bean bodies do.

I was one of the lucky ones to get them, and I thought I would hate them, but they’re not too bad, and I can see myself using them sometimes

Legs should have hit boxs but bc of the beans itd be an disadvantage so no arms and legs shouldn't count
they need to add socks, I don't know why but seeing the full body avatars ankles on some of the shoe options are so strange to me lol
