Tools and Products I used:
74W FE Gearbox Oil
Liquid hand Pump
8 Allen key / Socket
Ratchet

Top tip is to always open the filler plug before you drain a gearbox nothing worse than having an empty box and finding the filler plug is seezed solid
Now that is a good tip! I can't imagine the feeling of not getting the fill plug off after you drained the oil 🤣
About to swap my half shafts, as the carrier bearing on my passenger side went bad at 100k miles. Now I know where the fill plug is 😅 thanks!
Lol glad I could help! The fill plug location is not one of the easiest places to find at first 🤣
thanks! great report, it helped a lot! but one note: the 6-speed gearbox holds 2.25 liters of oil
I wonder if there is a difference between some 6 speeds then because my service book said 1.7L if its completely empty 🤔
I'll need to do this soon. I believe the Fiesta ST uses DCT oil (in north america thats what they suggest)
I am really not sure, better to check in the service book or call ford and ask them. the last thing you want is to add the wrong oil and loose a gearbox lol :)
@@megalodononwheels this is the best reply possible. Nice!
What page did in the manual tell you the transmission fluid volumne?
Didn't I show it in the video 💔 I am currently in bed now haha. Did you come right? I can quickly look tomorrow if your still looking for it.
I wonder how well it would work if instead of using the hand pump, you just connected the tube to the input(as you did with the hand pump) and then use a funnel at the top and pour in the oil, that would probably be significantly faster. Probably still a two person job so that one pours and the other holds the tube into the input.
Yea that was my initial idea. I was thinking of getting some fish tank pipes, you can buy it in different sizes so maybe get a pretty nice size but not to big, just enough to fit in the fill plug and then use a funnel at the top. But this hand pump did take a long time lol but 1.7L was pretty quick. I had to do the same practice on my Audi and it was 7L 🤣🙆♂️
But yea you will definitely need 2 people for the funnel idea but is probably much better.
Do ya know what fiesta 1.25 5 speed gearbox oil quantity please
Unfortunately I have no idea sorry 😭
Call ford with your VIN number and ask them 👌 get the right info fro. The right people 🙌
Did u find out ? I have the same question
???litre dct oil for ford fiesta 1.6 sedan 2010..
I am not sure and don't want to lie, please call Ford rather and ask by giving them your VIN or just have a look in your manual book like I did :)
شكرا
Glad I could help 🙌
