Steelheart is the actual band who wrote most of these songs. Steel Dragon is a fictional band made up of pro musicians Zack Wilde and Jason Bonham for the movie representation. They did create a few songs and actually played these songs live for the filming of the movie. Mark Wahlberg was not singing in the movie. His voice was overdubbed by the original singer Miljenko Matijevic.
Quit saying Zakk Wylde as Zack Wilde, rookies man.
In the movie the album was called Lubricator

The greatest metal group of all time
I used to have this burnt to CD back in the day. One of my all time favorite "Albums". I wish they would've actually released under Steel Dragon. At least for this 1 project. Still great songs!

The film ROCK STAR brings us another really great thing, and those are good rock songs (made for this film). Among the singers who participated in the recording of those songs is the famous Miljenko Matijevic (from the band Steel Hearth), who is considered one of the best vocalists ever, but not so well known in the world. Miljenko lends her voice to Mark Wahlberg during the singing scenes, which is best reflected in the already famous song "We all die young".
Miljenko Matijevic is from steelheart, he is not a her & his voice was mixed with jeff scott sotos voice for the rockstar soundtrack

LOVE this. Rockstar is one of my favorites and the music is stellar. The only original tune though was "Crown of Falsehood" which is why it wasn't in the movie. So glad I found this.

I don't think that a lot of the songs were actually written by them. Reckless for example actually was released in 1999 by a band called Phoenix Down.

Thanks for posting. When I look for these songs I gotta listen to the ones that aren't steel dragon. I wish this was a real band that released a lot of albums. I love the singer's voice (the one on we all die young) and I don't really care for ozzy or zakk wyldes voices so to be able to listen to a song where Zakk plays guitar and actually like the singing instead of patiently waiting for it to be over is a real treat!!!!!! Thanks for uploading.

The singer has insane voice! I reckon another great singer would be Adam Lambert on something like this. I play We all die young on guitar. Such a good tune. Zakk Wiylde with all the squeals is awesome!

agree its a “fake” band, but its great nonetheless 👍🏻 another fave of mine of fake bands is “Citizen Dick” from the very underrated movie “singles” from the 90s. that fake band was mostly made up of pearl jam members along with matt dillon. movie & soundtrack are great too! ❤️
