- The young School of Saberfighting student makes she first steps on the Jedi way.
School of Saberfighting is one of the first teams in the world that specialises in public performance of duels inspired by Star Wars, and also provides training for those who wish to learn this form of stage fencing.
Many of our trainees have won the highest stage fencing athletic titles in various Europe championships, and acted in fencing combat scenes in theatre and films. They also collaborated with a Combat Choreographer from Hollywood, and performed during the World Fencing Championship 2015.

Saber fights need to be an Olympic sport.
Fencing is olympic sport . Ever since 1896. But proper fencing, where points are scored by hitting opponent with weapon, so attack and defense matters. Here is just pointless swirl with a painted stick.

@@SchoolofSaberfighting Well, this thing you call light-saber "fighting" may well be a sport in Russia. But it certainly is not part of olympic fencing. Last time I checked IOC did not even know that light-sabers exist...

The fella with one hand, that was Makashi, Dooku’s style. The young lady looked like Soresu, Obi-Wan’s second and Mastery style.

All sabers are from local Moscow-based saber producers. One producer(Warsabers) however is selling abroad(although lt was back in 2021).

I'm writing all this because I love Star Wars itself and I used to do Kendo with a regular metal sword, now I do Kendo with bamboo.

Why not learn real sword fighting
Why bother learning real sword fighting though. Both hobbies have no practical application in modern world, so pick one you're inclined to, and have fun with your newfound hobby

@@GannerTheKnight beneficial exercise? Yes. Enhancing your core, arm and leg strength, your hand-eye coordination, proprioception, becoming nimble and quick is beneficial to you. Useful skill? Don't think so; it's not like any of us are getting into swordfights out in the street anytime soon. Semantics, I guess.
@@whitecoffee8090 this is exactly what I meant. Why do people always constantly argue about what is useful and what isn't? Commenting on some youtube video that the art displayed in the video is useless is probably the most useless thing one can do.
@@GannerTheKnight There is an important distinction that must be drawn between the words useful, applicable and beneficial. Both hobbies are beneficial and fun; neither is useful and applicable. Not everything has to be useful and applicable; being fun is enough, being beneficial is a plus. What I'm saying is 'instead of x, do y' has no meaning if both have more or less the same set of pros and cons.
