I like what Springfield did here with some modern upgrades while keeping to the original spirit of the Highpower. It intrigues me more than the new one that FN released at Shot Show. Taking original mags is another plus over the FN.
And, Springfield brought this to market for $699. How much does FN's new "High Power" run? $1500... Yeah... I'll take the one that I can buy two of, and has a 99% compatibility with the original.
I love the original high power too, but I’d rather buy the SA35 than the new F. The SA35 is about the same price as a CZ75 b. Which would all of you rather have - CZ75 or SA35?
Another improvement is that the Browning High Power uses a 2 piece braised barrel while the SA35 uses a one piece cold hammer forged barrel. I have not heard of any problems with a 2 piece barrel, but I don't see why they would use 2 piece barrels. The SA35 does not have a firing pin block that is part of the BHP Mark III.
I got one of these recently I like it alot. With mine the only thing I would change is I would prefer a parkarized finish and more resistance to move the safety off. Don't care for the sights.
Yet another reason why Springfield Armory is my favorite manufacturer... They produce classics like the milspec 1911, also the Ronin 1911, Operator, etc., and the loaded M1A rifle, a faithful semiauto copy of the M14. Add this SA-35 to the party and it's all good!
Opps, the clone Springfield SA-35 has be been _trumped_ by the real all new FN High Power. See Shot Show 2022. Springfield Armory - 2nd Amendment traitors got what they deserve.
love mine so far but to be fair I haven't shot that many rounds through it yet to get a proper assessment of the firearm. I also do not like the sharp trigger guard towards the front of the firearm. I may polish that sharp edge off myself. thanks as always for your excellent review Sir.
Which is why I'd stick with the SA-35. The original doesn't need a complete rework, and Springfield didn't completely rework it, they just made a few changes that a lot of people have wanted for the design for a long time... and they did it without making it unreasonably expensive. FN basically made a new pistol and thought they could cash in on the name and charge custom pistol prices for it.
@@richty3845 shucks, why not both? I have seen a few videos on the new FN product. At first I was disappointed, but now I get that it’s a modernization not a copy.
I have shot and carried BHPs sense 1975 when I was Issued one. I acquired a SA35 and got what I expected from Springfield. Not much. I have not had the extraction problems I have heard some have but the barrel is junk. At 25 yards it won't shot shotgun patterns. A Brownells drop in BHP barrel cut group size in half. I have a Cylinder and Slide barrel coming. Sent from my wife's phone.
Good video sir, have one on order. Ran across one of my holy grail guns earlier today. The cz 97B but it was priced at $815, if it was priced lower or it was the bd version I would have jumped on it. When I held it it felt like I was holding my shadow 2.
Are the mags compatible between the original Hi-Power and other clones? I am in a certain state where I can't order additional high capacity mags. I bought my original Browning in '92 and it's blue and stainless an love the look. The 2 - 13 round mags are working well but I would like a few more mags. Thanks for the content!
Yes. Magazines interchange. In fact almost all parts interchange. I have a Browning HP that was tuned by Terry Tussey and when I got thr SA35, I swapped the sear and hammer so I coukd get a tuned trigger on ghe new HP. I also swapped the ambi safety from the Browning to the SA35 but it wqs quite stiff and the Browning safery does bot have a shelf for positive application of force so I re swapped the SA35s safety back in. So the internals interchange.
There seems to be more than a few reports of the Springfield sa35 having quality issues and failures. I like the hi power and plan to get one in the future. Thinking maybe a clone of the original and the new FN version which is just a silhouette of the original.

The new FN High Power just doesn’t look like a High Power.
@@keithv3767 100% agree. And I’m betting it’ll be north of $1200

@@keithv3767 Both... especially if I could get a CZ-75SA... at least I think that is what the single action version was/is called.
I always wanted a Browning Hi Power, I am still lucky to have a SA35 which is exactly a Browning Hi Power Clone
I have one it is lights out accurate and runs flawlessly. I carry it daily
The Hi-Power WAS designed to be thin, that's why it still carries so well for edc. It was LESS than 1 1/2 in. in width. Your facts are wrong.

Bought one in May and I love it. Can’t tell any difference between my Browning hi-power and this SA-35
Thank you for the video. I'm still waiting for one to show up locally. Cheers!
An excellent review. Thanks.
A very nice explanation, thank you!
Man, I got to buy one of this SA-35,to check it out. looks it's a great pistol.

Yes a comparison between the new SA-35 High power and the old, and why not trow in the 1911 as well, that is making for a great video.
Do a comparison between this model, the new FN High Power modernization, and an older High Power. Thanks. I love your videos.
So nice. Dream pistol.
I definitely do like the new improvements they made I would love to see comparison between all three guns
Instead of the clones... How about the new "real" FN High Power? See Shot Show 2022.
Great video. I would love to see a comparion to the original High Power and the 1911. Thank you.

Can we double your work and see a comparison with all three? The OG High Power and the 1911? Great video and thanks for your work!
FN's also making an updated Browning Hi Power, but a 17+1 rounder, go from what I hear it's about twice the money of the Springfield SA-35.

@@BU1Lander Nicely Said. I'll take the Springfield over the FN. The FN is Not a Hi Power at all, it's a whole different gun.

Old hi powers did not have an ambi safety. Not until the mk3.

I just heard they discontinued that model. If you want one you better hurry.
I would love to see a comparison with the original hi power and the 1911
Most people prefer black back sight. You don’t need a ledge to rack slide either.
Compare the Soringfield vs the Fn vs the Original both features & shooting. Thx
Early FN or other brand HPs did not have ambi safeties , only later FN made versions like mk3.
FN made ALL Brownings. Browning was not a manufacture.
I would like to see it compared to a 1911 and I also would not mind seeing it compared to a Browning hi power

Would like to se the new FN compared to this SA 35 and the original.
Like to compare this to the FN new version. I must say FN version looks very nice a modern.
IT IS PROBABLY IMPOSSIBLE TO ORDER ONE OF THESE BECAUSE THEY ONLY CAME OUT IN OCTOBER LAST YEAR.
Special ordered mine in November at LGS I just got it 3/10/22
The manual recommends not to carry half cocked
Where is it made? There are rumors that these are Turkish guns from tissas
Made in USA 🇺🇸

The extractor starts to fail after 700 rounds. Hope they replace the part in the future models.
The gun is all made completely in the USA or is just a Turkish made gun sell under the Springfield armory name!?
