yeah see the thing about this album is its difficult to get into if you don't know the lore of the fabulous killjoys. see the album is connected to a comic written by the singer called True Lives Of The Fabulous Killjoys, which is about colourful rebels in a nuclear wasteland fighting a megacorporation city. the non song tracks on the album are in-universe radio sections by a character called dr death defying, a lot of slang specific to the killjoys universe is used throughout the album (scarecrow, motorbaby, costa rica, getaway mile etc), and the music videos for the album provide a lot of story. i know this video is a year old but you might not know all this, and i liked the video :)
S/C/A/R/E/C/R/O/W was my favourite song on this album, and hearing it again transported me back in time, I'm definitely going to have to go and listen myself now. This wasn't my favourite album, but you're right, I saw them on this tour and it's great live.
I really like the whole apocalyptic/melancholic vibe of this album especially scarecrow and kids from yesterday
1 - Bullets is GREAT but very metal/screamo. You might like this more:
2 - Consider doing Conventional Weapons, which are a set of five (I think?) paired songs. (Like, if they were 45 singles on vinyl, one song on each side.) This is a whole album that they literally threw away before they recorded Danger Days. The songs are SO GOOD. Mixture of pop songs and punk songs. One of the best ballads they ever recorded. I think you'll like it.
3: They have a bunch of B-sides floating around on various albums/eps that are, seriously, good. Heaven Help Us. Desert Song (A lot of people's favorite song of all time.) I would have to compile the list for that ;-) , but it's definitely not "a record" because it would be songs from all over their career.
Yeah man, Summertime is one of my favorite songs they've made. It's feels almost crazy to say that based on the style of all of their other music, but that song is a masterpiece.
Also are you going to do more Coldplay? I've been looking forward to that. Hope so!

I understand where you’re coming from, but for me this is my favorite album to sit down and listen through because,unlike Bullets, Three Cheers, or even Black Parade (wich are all amazing) the story in Danger Days flows perfectly throughout the album. Listening through it feels like watching a film ,especially with the visuals and lore provided by the NaNaNa music video . Plus I really vibe with the upbeat almost manic energy
"The only hope for me is you" was a song for Gerard Ways daughter. Although you could hear the inspiration from the original "the world is ugly" for this one and "Bulletproof heart".
"Party poison" was one I think the only original song that stayed from the original plan for their fourth album as it changed through the years they took trying to write it. Based on the songs they teased playing live through the years it was being worked on. "The world is ugly" and "kiss the ring" were originally for their fourth album, but got moved to EP's.
I think "summertime" was musically written by Mikey way, or at least it originated from his portion and they all added their parts around it?
"Vampire money" was their song against twilight for either producers or just people trying to make them make a song for one of their movies.
stephanie meyer (the writer of twilight) is rumored to have based edward cullen on gerard way, and iirc she kept asking them to write a song for one of the movies (because paramore did) and as you said they were like no and wrote vampire money

I agree with your assessment. This is my least favorite album. It's got some good songs, but there's a lot of similar sounding forgettable ones. Scarecrow is probably my favorite on the album.
