impressive and brave mate well done big up congratulation on another great adventure. now this is how ya tick boxes , living the best life def worth it Massive thanks for inspirational video log post .
This was an amazing adventure in a stunning landscape, skillfully undertaken, beautifully filmed. You deserve way more than your current 5K subscribers. Thank you so much for posting.
I've been following and watching your content for a little over a year now, I loved this video! I flew this summer in Interlaken and I'm going back to Flims this winter can't wait! Swiss landscape and views are so addictively stunning! Question, sorry if you've answered this already, but what earbuds are you sporting when I see you hiking?
Ah thanks very much mate! Yeah what a place to fly eh? I have the Sony WI-C100, they're fine. I like having the wired Bluetooth ones because I can tie them around my neck so I don't loose them whilst flying!
@@BenjaminKellett yes, I completely agree. Companies have abandoned tethered Bluetooth earbuds, which is a shame. I have a pair of Tarah Pro's that I love but are slowly falling apart, and looking at alternatives. I absolutely never use them flying, but always have them on when biking and paddling. Can sometimes see them pop up on Ebay. Thanks!
You can really see how much experience it takes to fly in these mountains ... A labyrnth of valleys and passes :D . Makes me appreciate the valley wind map you can easily find nowadays and studying it like a bible. Mapped out the rough path. 82km. Challenging.
Yeah it can be, takes a bit of experience to go out and figure it out by yourself. Sticking to known sites with a good briefing from experience local pilots is a good start!
This is awesome!!! I’m a PG pilot from South Africa…you must come down some time and fly here it’s beautiful…only the long vol bivs are hard because there’s a lot of unforgiving desert. But beautiful nonetheless. Again awesome video please keep them coming❤️
@@BenjaminKellett unfortunately the weather in the 'berg is not very consistent in terms of flying. That said it is an awesome spot when it does work. Here is a short vid from an overnight vol-biv last year in the low lands (i.e. off the main escarpment) ruclips.net/video/X9A10_nSrNg/видео.html and there is a vid on my channel (my only vid 😅) of flying along the escarpment of the southern 'berg if you're interested. If you need any info feel free to drop me a message and I'll help where I can.
Oh, thank you so much for having done that fly-hike in my homecountry. As soon as my children will have grown up, I will follow you and reach the skies. And, just one little favour I'd like to ask you: Please call it "Fi'ësch" [fɪəʃ] and not "fish" [fɪʃ] ... 😉 But that's a minor issue. Thank you so much for the report! ❤
Awesome flights! I was flying in Fiesch about a month ago, to the Grimsel pass and back. The grimsel is known to be flooded by the valley wind from the other valley, which is why I turned just before that. I am relieved to see that you noticed it really early and made the right decision to switch sides! Did you just notice it in flight or were you aware of it beforehand?
Ah I could feel the wind pushing me so I switched! If I was to do this again I would swap to the south side much earlier, I think if I did this I could’ve connected with the higher clouds more to the south! Next time!!
@@BenjaminKellett Impressive, I probably would have had much longer to make that decision... But sounds like you had fun, did you have the chance to see the Aletsch Glacier or is that also for next time (or would it potentially spoil the next video, so you dont have to reply ^^)
🎉 excellent videos. Im learning from them. Im in France with a sprinter like van and it is March so im wanting a little for the Pyrenees soon after a month possibly then back home grenoble and annecy 🎉
great vid. what size is the GT ? you fly it without all the vol gear too eh. i,m just chewing over sizes, and what makes is your cup! MSR? cheers, keep doing!
Thanks mate! I have the ML, with all the gear I sit about 103-105 depending on how much food/water I have. This is right at the top which means without the gear I can still fly it, nearer the bottom of the range. I actually find the handling is still super nice even at the lower end of the range!
Yeah it's harder than when you have not kit, the glider is flying faster and with the extra weight on you back the landing is harder. Easier to roll an ankle etc
Haha! What's an airbender??? Sounds like something that my mates would call me if I was still in high school, or in an episode of the Inbetweeners!! 🤣🤣🤣
This guy shows how to do it. He doesnt get greedy, takes the safe choice, chills out. Guys like this never crash.
😬 never say never 😉
@@BenjaminKellett fingers crossed never!

What a trip! Thank’s for sharing this journey with those amazing images. 👍🏻
Great video lad! Can't wait to reach the level where i can risk myself in such adventure! thx for the inspiration!
No worries! Fly safe!
Absolutely breathtaking scenery my friend, this looks amazing! Mountains and overall atmosphere are brilliantly presented here.
Thanks very much! Stunning place for flying eh!
Made me chuckle 9 min in when you said been hiking for an hour and looked like you been hiking for days.
I think you fly the lee more than the windward side!
Haha sometimes the Lee side is the best pace to be!
17:31 How I "love" these moments!!!
😎
Always love your adventures man. You fly with so much style and grace. Almost like it's just as easy as walking when i see you fly😉 Amazing pilot👌
Ahh thanks mate! Appreciate it!
Amazing video as usual Ben, keep them coming!!!
Thanks! Will do!
Great video, and happy you enjoyed Switzerland. Be careful, flying near airport is forbidden, you need min 5km circle. Be safe.
😬 will do! Thanks!
This is literally what i was searching for! Keep up the great work
Thanks, will do! 😁
What an epic adventure! Thanks!
Glad you enjoyed it! You're welcome!
Amazing video!!! Pleas, Can you make a video about the camping and eletronics equipment, and show how you pack inside the harness during the flight???
Yeah it's firmly on the to do list!
So awesome your adventure...congratulations and thank you for sharing

Hi Benjamin, beautiful impressions. I cant wait for my first vol-biv in the alps. Your Video gives me so much motivation to just go out and try.. 🤟😀
Amazing!! Enjoy!
Great video! I love seeing you kicking around in the Alps! A vid in the Jura would be even greater, it's where I use to fly most of the time ¡-)
Awesome thanks mate!! Yeah I’ll do one in the jura, It’ll be after the follow up to this one 😎
Thank you for this good video. I learned a lot. Always good flights! Tommy
Cheers Tommy! If theres anything you want to know, don't hesitate to ask in the comments!

Cool trip man! Can you tell me what sort are your sun glasses!!? They seems to be nice!
Thanks flo
Thanks! They're Julbo Sheilds, they do a reasonably good job of keeping the wind out my eyes!

Good job Ben! When was that adventure?
Thanks mate! That was in July of this year!
Great video. Excellent production quality. May I ask what solar panel u are using?
It’s the Anker 21W, there’s a link in the description 🤓
@@BenjaminKellett thank you
Not enough heat for lift from that Sun Simulator
I know eh 😅
your video editing is impressive, what editor do you use?
Thanks mate, I use Adobe.
What tent do you use?
Hey Ben! Curious to know what rucksack that is? Thanks Man!
It's the Advance Lightpack 3, I like it but it is falling apart a wee bit. It's had a lot of repairs. Will try something else for the next one.
Ya, well let us know what you find. I am finding it tough to find reviews on rucksacks that are vol-biv specific.
@@JetStream2001 Will do!
Awesome Video 🪂
Thanks mate!
Epic!😮

Hi Ben. What app do you use for navigation/thermals?
I use FlySkyHy, I found it super helpful in Switzerland because it has all the cables on there too!!
Which vario did u use ? Does it have integrated solar panel?
Yeah it's an XC tracer mini GPS but now I have the Max II
is it hard to land (especially top landing) with all those extra kilos?
Yeah it's harder than when you have not kit, the glider is flying faster and with the extra weight on you back the landing is harder. Easier to roll an ankle etc
What’s the story with that cap chap?
Haha yeah it’s pretty shagged, now in the bin 😂
How do you stay stationary in mid air?
haha sometimes it feels like I'm stationary!
How was the weight 20kg?!? In your list you only used ultralight gear… is it the cameras that make the difference?
Yeah the camera stuff on this trip was pretty huge tbh, with all the power banks, poles and clamp mounts
I love this sh🎉t ben
😎🙌 thanks!!
What in the airbender s#€t is this🎉
