Are you talking out of experience? You do realize that Open Falcon was basically BMS between BMS 2.03 and BMS 4.32? I messed a bit with Open Falcon around 2007 and can say that Falcon BMS 4.32 and upward added something new in each iteration, and compared to OF it is superior in every aspect - avionics, flight model, graphics engine, naval ops etc. Also check this out, it's pretty interesting to see Falcon versions history: upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/a/ac/Falcon-4-history.svg

how do i start from the ramp every time? some missions start me in the air and some start on runway.. some don't let me choose where i start the mission. is there a setting i'm overlooking or what?
You should take into consideration the take off time of your selected sortie (selected mission might be already in progress - check the STATUS in FRAG ORDER window - when it says Briefing it didn't started yet). For example in this video I selected a mission which take off time was scheduled for 1711 and the current time was 1606, so I still had more than 1 hour. In F4AF the ramp start begins 25 minutes before take off time, in Falcon BMS 4.32/33 ramp start begins 20 minutes before take off time.

You can however get the patch from here drive.google.com/open?id=0B0lKDHW-A6jqb0J0M1BSMV9zM3M Try this patch, probably it's a good idea to make a new clean install and apply the latest patch afterwards (it's cumulative so you don't need any previous patches). I don't remeber the default key bindings for flight controls, it was something like Shift+arrow keys (or ALT or even CTRL), you could check the assignments in the control options. I would really not recommend playing with keyboard though, you really need joystick for this game, or at least a gamepad (something with analog control).
Will Falcon 4.0 play on Windows 10? I didn't even try it. I thought for sure, it wouldn't. I couldn't even get microsoft flight sim 2004 to play. None of the combat flight sims either. I'd be surprised if Falcon can play, without a lot of jacking around.

I played the game on XP before and the sound was the same. The video you linked is from 2007, maybe they changed something in the subsequent patches. I'm using the latest official one - 1.0.13 which was released in 2008.
2d cockpit view is restricted to 4:3 by the cockpit art assets, 16:9 aspect is for any other 3d view (including 3d cockpit view). Back when the game came out 4:3 aspect ratio was the norm.
I can't get this to show full screen on windows 10. Can you please help?! lol There are bars to the left and right of the screen and it's cut off and squashed-looking.
What resolution have you set in the options? If you select wide aspect res (16:9 spect, like 1920x1080) you will still have black bars at the sides in 2D cockpit views (like here - 6:00 in my video) but you should get full wide screen in 3D cockpit and external views. If you set 4:3 aspect resolution (i.e. 1024x768) you should get black bars at the sides in all views, unless your monitor will stretch this res to fit your all screen and you will get vertically squashed looking screen if your monitor is widescreen.
For starters if you don't have any joystick I recommend a basic HOTAS setup (stick, throttle and rudder axis). I use Thrustmaster T Flight Hotas X. It's pretty cheap for what it provides. If you can spend more you can check out Thrustmaster Warthog. Ideally for Falcon you could use Thrustmaster Cougar (Falcon's HOTAS replica) but it's not in production any more, you can buy one used though.
I installed it on older machine and moved the installation folder. I didn't tried installing it directly on Windows 10, but it should work that way too. I also used official 1.0.13 patch (link in vid decription), game works fine on Windows 10.
If I remember correctly from the debriefing - yes. Although you could see a lot of led flying around. Usually AAA causes less damage. I limped back home several times after AAA hits.
It's not the original from 1998 (Falcon 4.0 by Microprose), it's official release from 2005 developed by Lead Pursuit. More info here: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Falcon_4.0:_Allied_Force
@@capitutoriales8044 IIRC it was something like CTRL + arrow keys (or ALT), because by default arrow keys alone move your radar cursor. You can bind the keys as you like, but without joystick it's really hard to make sensible control scheme, not to mention you're losing the analog (precise) control of the stick.
Going with SEAD flight is always a good idea. But if you go low no one can save you from IR homing MANPADs, well maybe except for a bunch of flares ;).

The offical LeadPursuit page is no longer available, but you can access it through Wayback Machine, or you can get the patch from my archived location: drive.google.com/open?id=0B0lKDHW-A6jqb0J0M1BSMV9zM3M
Is this better than Falcon BMS?
No, it lies between original Falcon 4.0 and BMS.
Is there something wrong with your audio here? I remember the engines sounding higher pitched in the cockpit view...
I don't think so, I even watched other F4AF videos on youtube and they sound the same.
I played the game on XP before and the sound was the same. The video you linked is from 2007, maybe they changed something in the subsequent patches. I'm using the latest official one - 1.0.13 which was released in 2008.
finish lieutenant colonel
Why does it switch keep switching between 4:3 and 16:9?
2d cockpit view is restricted to 4:3 by the cockpit art assets, 16:9 aspect is for any other 3d view (including 3d cockpit view). Back when the game came out 4:3 aspect ratio was the norm.
I can't get this to show full screen on windows 10. Can you please help?! lol
There are bars to the left and right of the screen and it's cut off and squashed-looking.
Well, it's working but not in the full screen, the way you have it on your video. :( lol
Do I have to invest in a certain type of joystick?
For starters if you don't have any joystick I recommend a basic HOTAS setup (stick, throttle and rudder axis). I use Thrustmaster T Flight Hotas X. It's pretty cheap for what it provides. If you can spend more you can check out Thrustmaster Warthog. Ideally for Falcon you could use Thrustmaster Cougar (Falcon's HOTAS replica) but it's not in production any more, you can buy one used though.
Falcon 4.0 Allied Force was the shit!
Główny sterownik ekranu :D
Tak to już jest z polskim Windowsem ;)
Hotas support with bms?
If you mean does this has HOTAS support, then yes, it has. You can bind averything whatever you like.
Is this a block 40 f-16?
No. This is Block 50 or 52. Block 40/42 has wide angle HUD.
Here's Block 40/42 ruclips.net/video/k5YFiANmHmg/видео.html
@@damsonn ah thanks. I see a few cockpit differences from the DCS block 50 version that's why I asked.
Lock 'em up!
I have it 32 bit. Where did you get 64 bit?
It's running on 64-bit operating system. The game executable is 32-bit.
How do you get this running on windows 10
I installed it on older machine and moved the installation folder. I didn't tried installing it directly on Windows 10, but it should work that way too. I also used official 1.0.13 patch (link in vid decription), game works fine on Windows 10.
@@damsonn I have it working on windows 10 but when I installed the patch in the link the game would Not let me fly it gave me some error.
So it was a MANPAD that shot you down? i saw tracers i guess that was from AAA?
If I remember correctly from the debriefing - yes. Although you could see a lot of led flying around. Usually AAA causes less damage. I limped back home several times after AAA hits.
Did you use HiTiles in this video?
No, it's stock install with 1.0.13 patch applied.
where did you get a copy of the game??
allegro.pl/falcon-4-4-0-allied-force-pc-cd-battlefield-i6868735955.html
do somebody post the music's link ?
You mean this? ruclips.net/video/CWOGKjELMmg/видео.html
no look for 2.38 i mean that music
That's hard to find. But you may look for other F4AF videos where it may be showcased longer than in this video.
How to play an full screen
Install the latest official patch, link in video description.
Is this just the original
Game without bms?
It's not the original from 1998 (Falcon 4.0 by Microprose), it's official release from 2005 developed by Lead Pursuit. More info here: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Falcon_4.0:_Allied_Force
can you play with keyboard?
Probably, but you would have to rebind some keys in control options. Though I would highly recommend getting a joystick for this title.
@@damsonn Ok, sir
@@damsonn But what are the keys to fly? to guide me better
You can also play it with a ps2 controller, I'm currently doing it and I must say it gives you a lot smoother experience.
I think you could have used some SEAD support to have taken out some AAA and their radars :)
Going with SEAD flight is always a good idea. But if you go low no one can save you from IR homing MANPADs, well maybe except for a bunch of flares ;).
Game is for fun, there is no fun to read 750 pages of simulator aca control instruction. It's fun for pilots not Gamers.
It depends, for flight sims enthusiasts reading manuals like this is pure fun, for casual gamers not really...
It's a sim not a game, sometime shortly after its release we lost those.
Hello, good video. You can leave the download link Falcon 4?
Thanks, you can find Falcon 4 Allied Force [2005] on ebay. Falcon 4 [1998] is available at Steam and GOG, and latest BMS4.33 [2016] is free, but you need to have Falcon 4.0 [1998] installed to install and run BMS and be registered to access their forum with download links:.

Ok man, thanks. Another question, the latest version (4.33), works with 64-bit operating system?
Yes, it has both 32 bit and 64 bit executables.
Ok. thanks man.
Great video, what specs does your computer have?
game is good but glitchy as fuck always crashing no sound half the time....more aggravating than anything..
Post your updates to my Facebook page falcon 4.0.
