Instead, he presents you with a broad, proven and effective approaches that can be utilized across your entire judo system. His in depth explanations remain tailored for the judoka interested in leveling up their game.
Tomoe Nage with my back towards the tracks as the train is coming. The ultimate street fighting gambit.
More like How to go to jail tutorial 😳
@neitherstorm9794 no, I'm landing with him on the tracks too.
Crazy man!
Sounds like a move from Mortal Kombat.

News:"New York Subway crime up."
Shintaro:"judo for the subway"
Lmao 😅 the crime dramatically reduces 😅😅
Overreact much? Looking for clicks are you?
This guy is a judo content genius
Ik it's so awesome. Consistent and high quality content. Often and high quality
i couldnt believe my eyes when i saw the title of the video -- a how to judo video for a subway altercation? hell yeah
My cousin a high level judo guy and bouncer in the 70s was sneak attacked on the platform and out in front headlock in bent over position and he told me the guy was super strong on drugs and drunk. My cousin said he had one chance only cause he's super strong so he did the tomenage and escaped instantly. He said without judo he would have been dead today.
you cant really do tomoe nage when being headlocked though (as far as i know)
@mndeg front headlock, u missed the key 🔑 point.
Judo is super efficient for self defence, much more than people think. The ability to control another person’s body through balance etc.
Love the sport vids on here but it would be great to see more Judo self defence vids from you, the simple judo logic you used for these techniques is far better than most of the actual intended ‘self defence’ systems out there.
Great vid 👍🏻👍🏻
Agree 💯. Also I did knife fighting and seemed to always end up in a typical judo throw mid way of the sequence or knife defense sequence. As a judo guy unloved knife fighting training 😆
Never thought I'd hear in my life the statement at 3:20 "The beauty of fighting in the subway"
Really feels like we are in the class. Very nice camera work. Also very nice techniques. 👍👍👍
It’s rare to see someone with the red white belt who doesn’t have grey hair. LOL
I loved that bodylock uchimata, so simple and so effective.
We have to do more of this! Outstanding!
Very engaging video. Thank you senseis
-Shintarooo, come out and plaaay-😅
I love this judo self-defense videos, thanks sensei Higashi and Eugene!
I really appreciate this situational application of judo. Excellent video, guys!
For people not in NYC or a big city this might seem way too specific, but seriously thank you Shintaro.
Honestly the subway is the one place that I feel most likely to ever get into a 'street fight' in. Way more so than the actual streets, where I can try to walk away while deescalating. Those psychos on the train won't have any of that.
Idk, ppl will attack from behind or with a sharp.
Thank you for the information
Believe me it will come in handy .
More judo off the wall with counters
Please .
honestly wtf new york lol that thumbnail is so funny

Hidden gem: Don't get in the empty subway car - true words of wisdom
Judo is so underrated 👍
I remember that when I was a teenager, I was bullied on a bus, and was pushing the bullies away, trying to keep them all in check in front of me... then I was dispatched by an old lady that hit me from behind with her cane. She gave me a serious trashing on the back and on the head, shouting stuff about how I was disrespectful of the elderly and lacking any morals...
I lost and was shamed by bystanders who took the old lady's side.
The old lady won, gargling herself in her own self-righteousness fantasy.
The bullies went away laughing.
... So the best technique for fighting on a bus would have been to keep an eye on self-righteous people who don't read the situation properly.
This is excellent! Keep it coming
A video on judo for a street fight would be great!
Thanks, my boring communte was so much fun today. Fellow travellers had a blast too. Imagine a car pakced of people screming 'n yelling 'n trampling!
That was a big Uchi Mata
I like the “and I start punching his face” after every throw. 😂
Hahahahaha 😂. We complain about the London Underground but I’ve never thought I need a black belt just to get to work in the morning. NY? No thank you 😂😂😂😂
Subway judo is the best base for mma
Always top quality videos and topics ❤
San Francisco more likely but always appreciate the street tips
That was cool. More self defence judo please 😊
Bellissima lezione! Che invidia!! Complimenti a tutti.
Oooh New York subway! I thought it’s when the guy makes my sandwich wrong ..
Love the content sensei
Love the grittiness of some of shintaros real world videos aha
Sumi gaeshi unto the tracks like that scene with the police officer in the "Warriors" Movie😂
LOL GOTTA LOVE THIS!!!! THROWS IN SUBWAY!! That's some attitude shit man!!! 😍
😂😂😂😂 had to click this video when i seen the title 🤣🤣
Shintaro with that NYC content
I am also a Judoka. In that case when we hold each other there’s very open between the two legs just left the knee straight up to the point.Party is over this is a street fight. Please, remember everything’s go.🥋
I remember there was a time when I felt safe enough to take a nap in a nyc subway...
Japan subway not needed. Everyone is respectful and polite.
Unless your a woman. Beware of Chikan! 😮
And you don't have enough room😅
I wonder if these also work in the German U-Bahn/S-Bahn =P
Harai Goshi for the minimum wage worker who put too much mustard on your cold cut
Love your content. Is your daughter still training?
Phone booth, where are you going to see a phone booth, and one that holds two people
now take the gi of and call it judo for mma, great content
Next: Staten Island Ferry judo
Yes.
Does pushing someone onto the tracks count
Sasae, either they take the throw or step on the tracks avoiding the throw. Uki waza and yoko guruma too if space allows.
Agree foot sweeps even better in confined space like arms length away
@@bobkk-ev5ls My favorite trick back in the day when I was a young man who liked to go to bars and someone (sometimes my drunk best friend) would get stupid, would be to insist on them keeping arms length while backing up. Maybe throw in a "you don't want to fight and get in trouble right?"
When they insisted on violating the boundary and they press themselves all the way into my palm...
Forward and ouchi... and get out of there lol
@marvelousmrjohn amazing fun!!! So tricky. You set them up with charm!
@@bobkk-ev5lsIt was usually enough to get my friend to back off and on the couple of occasions it was an overzealous stranger, it let me get away to safety!
@@marvelousmrjohn lol imagine ashiwaza or throwing overzealous strangers!
Key variable... you do not want to touch, not rub faces with, most people on the nyc subway in that scenario... creating space and gtf away may be preferred...
When I play judo, I knock someone down but I don't know what's going on underneath. He rolled me over, not automatically, and one of the guys pinned me. I don't know what this step is. Help me.
Its gettin real in New York apparently.
This is great especially in a phone booth just don’t drop your pager
Excuse me sir, who is your father or who were in the videos of your dojo showing shimiwaza's in the years past?
Visiting NY now, is the subway a little crazy at the moment?
always has been
У нас тоже локомотивом этот вариант зацепа называется.
Simplest judo for the subway is "judon't know if I got a knife or a gun"
sure, first and foremost disengage but if this is not possible you got to take your chances and also he could not even have chance to use his weapon successfully if it is close distance and he is thrown really quick to the heavy ground with force
Best move is avoiding the subway.
Morote Gari 🔥
Judo going back to its roots in Jujitsu. Awesome! How about incorporating a couple of joint locks as well?
That's awesome, but what Judo throw would you recommend against Michael Jackson impersonators on the NYC subway?
I work in a jail. This could come in handy.
Was thinking of gang beasts when I saw the thumbnail

What about tomoe nage inside the parliament?... wait...
That steering wheel
Phone Booth? What ? Wait....what??
Ouchi glock
What about the train's movement. How can I use the train's movement to my advantage or anything I should avoid when the train is turning or stopping.
1:00
I dunno, seems pretty risky being that close in case they have a knife like many of them do.
Do a video on some Underhook setups for the gi! There is a great instructional on bjj fanatics called killer clinch gi takedowns, talks on the topic. If you made your own instructional on that especially setups/grip fighting aspect I would buy it! The Underhook overlaps with a lot of wrestling and would make takedowns easier in the gi esp for someone who is not a judo expert
This is great but when do I give him the five dollar foot long?
Judo kiiroi sen made...😆😅
❤🚂
I didn't see a throw to toss them under a coming train...
地下鉄を投げるのかと思った。
Get a chair against that wall
This is dumb. First of all like with all such things, situational awareness is your best defense. If you should find yourself grappling on the subway, you probably were paying more attention to your phone than your environment. Second of all, no offense but you've probably never gotten into an actual scuffle in the subway if you think any of this will work in a crowded environment full of obstacles like poles. What you SHOULD do is grab the lapels of the jacket or shirt and just stiff-arm. It takes minimum effort from the person doing it and conversely maximum effort for the person trying to break through. Yes there is a judo throw that specifically addresses a stiff-arming opponent, but it is unlikely a random subway person would know it let alone be proficient in it. As anyone with a bit of judo experience knows, you can easily move to another grip from there that would put an end to the confrontation if it escalates from there but I won't mention that because I don't want to be responsible for idiots misusing it. Don't believe me? Try it for yourself in your dojo next class. Just grab your Uki's lapels and pretend you're Frankenstein and invite them to try to break through your stance directly. Bet you they can't. And you can easily keep this up for half an hour until your opponent gets completely exhausted.
It's hard to move people who might be new to judo. Double under hooks is ways to stop that.
The best judo move for the NY subway is 9-millimeter... X-D
But what do you do if the other guy is a crackhead who likes to bite you? 🤔
don't be trying that on the subs, ya'll ain't included in the protected class
Best Judo to use is in the voting booth. Don't Vote Bluemata.
What crime? Must be those republican talking points again
Good
