I’m looking for 5 Overweight Judoka working a 9-5 who want to get into fighting shape w/o dreading the process. Apply here if that’s you: forms.gle/Z1DmY4v8LGKkpGHj9
I think boxing + judo is perfect for self defense, using kicks from martial arts for the street can be extremely dangerous. Utilizing head movement, rolling, duck-unders from boxing are fairly safe clinch entries. Mayweather did it all the time minus the judo 🥋 obviously.
Agreed mate, front kick maybe, can't count how many injuries I've seen in competitions & dojo from ppl leg checking or hitting someone's knee or elbow. Ouch
@@nikes4444 BJJ or Judo is plenty for self defense. While BJJ lacks takedowns compared to other grappling arts, it's takedowns are more than enough for untrained opponents, just like the amount of Submissions in Judo lacks compared to 10th planet, but is enough to finish someone in the street
What if the opponent is much taller and or very much heavier than you, then can you still do a hip throw and how? Do you have a video where you teach how to do hip throw. I don't know martial arts or how to fight so please let me know and thank you.
Yeah even with a hight/weight difference hip throws can still work pretty well end relatively easy. If you want to do more research on them, I would suggest searching for Judo specific tutorials since there are a lot of them and hip throws translate very well into no-gi. My personal suggestions for self-defense are: O Goshi, harai Goshi, Koshi Guruma and Tsuri Goshi (although the last is actually pretty bad for your scenario and more of a general suggestion, plus it needs quite a lot of clothing). If you want to look for more hip throws, I would advice you to look up the Kodokan RUclips channel's "Koshi-Waza" (Japanese for "hip techniques) video which is a compilation of hip throws.
The bigger and heavier it becomes, the easier it is to throw, in fact this is the main philosophy of judo, someone smaller will throw someone bigger, don't worry about it!
Was with you till you the end. conservative christianity has become a cancer to America. I hope you will be able to find rationality and actual, real compassion for others in your life. If you do you will probably become less and less comfortable around people who like to associate with each other based on those identity markers. Peace.

Good idea but what about some basics like low shin kicks, maybe some basic elbows, push knee?
People only know judo as Sport but traditional judo , judo as a martial art has striking techniques called atemi waza.
keep it up boys👊👊
Nice throws. I do struggle with the hip wheel against wrestlers though. Any tips for how to pull it through anyway?
