Thanks for a great play through. One strategy tip, it’s definitely worth the 20 influence to take at least one catastrophe to stop a crisis as you get the bump in resources or corruption removal.
Hey, thanks so much for checking out the video, Nigel! Congrats on a fantastic game! I've definitely taken that advice on most of my harder difficulty plays. A well-timed catastrophe token can be a life saver! Or at least mean I lose by fewer points than I otherwise would. :) Have a wonderful day!
You inspired me! So I was struggling hard with this game, losing by nearly triple digits each game. I read "tips" online and most of them talked about how people would plan out their entire cycle before they played a single card. That's way too much for my brain to handle, so I thought this game was going to be too much for me. Watching your playthrough, I saw that you seemed to not play EVERYTHING out and that gave me hope. I also noticed a few things I was doing wrong, which helped me go back and play again. Turns out, I WON! Thank you for this playthrough. I now enjoy Voidfall haha. Keep up the great work!
Yep that settles it! I have been following the channel for the past year and can confidently say that your content is among the best for solo playthroughs! Well done Shaggy, for me you are up there with Colin. Bravo
That is a very high compliment. Colin is fantastic and I've enjoyed his stuff for a while. Thank you for supporting the channel and I hope you continue to enjoy the videos!
Just discovered your channel as I needed some help to understand the flow of Voidfall. Excellent playthrough. Really cleared up several points that I hadn't fully grasped. Thanks for the very clear, measured, concise playthrough.
Amazing video production qualities again. You've become my favourite channel for gameplay. War cards don't get the +1 for cycle two and Three. That only applies in the evaluation step C conflict. It's printed in that step as it only applies then. Not an issue just thought you'd like to know for future games you play.
Other quick correction (15:50): +1 Voidborn Fleet power for cycle 2 & cycle 3 printed on the galactic board applies ONLY during evaluation skirmish (not during war cards). 😊
Finally found a rule I was doing wrong! I was resolving the war cards before I did my actions on a turn. That makes it quite a bit easier to deal with actually thank goodness lol.
Yeah, I was just about to mention that on your previous comment. Thankfully you get a turn to prepare for the war. Still can be tricky if you are caught with a full crisis board. Thanks for watching!
Haven't finished the video yet, but what a gamble on that second turn of the 2nd cycle! If you had drawn a war card you would have lost either the sector you just took or the one right next to your home world given the voidborn would have attacked with a power of 3.
Would love to see more voidfall on the channel, only been in the hobby for 6 months but i cant imagine anything that would knock this game out of first place imo
not 100% sure but at 8:48 resolving the crisis card: it's not when gaining/having an agenda card in your hand, but when playing one from your hand, if I'm not mistaking (see the difference in iconograpy). But let me just say your playtrough is very good and interesting to watch!
There is also a limit on how many minis (aka. Ship tokens) you can have in one sector at the end of your turn. You can only have at most 2 minis on each sector at the end of your turn. If you had more, you'd have to rearrange cubes, or reduce your fleet power. It can be tricky if you are dealing with more than one class of ship, because you can't transfer cubes between different classes of ships.
Exactly. This didn't come up in my playthrough on the channel, but has definitely been an issue in other plays. Careful managing of a diverse fleet can get tricky.
Yeah, my plays on easy haven't always been so easy, but normal kinda kicked me around a bit. It is harder to teach a game when the game is beating you down, I find. Ha. Thanks for watching!

I’ve got to try this strategy out!

These are so well narrated. Well done!
I'm happy you enjoyed the video. Thanks!

Ah, I didn't realize that. That's the second way I was making the game harder. That will help me a lot on my harder difficulty plays. Thanks!

"Otherwise minus three food...We might be able to eat that..." 😆
Ha, I wish that was my wit or sense of humor, but it is just my awkward way of speaking. Thanks for watching!

I really like your board setup, pretty space efficient. Great series!
Yeah, I spent a while figuring out how to maximize space and fit everything on camera. Barely managed it. Thanks for watching!

oh excuse me, I just noticed you've corrected it a bit later in your video!
Those ship minis seems completely unneeded? Is there a reason to not just have the cubes on the sectors?
There are technologies that allow you to construct different classes of ships.

Easy W xD

@@TotallyTabled I'd say twice as hard at least!
What Space Empires 4x makes it easy Voidfall makes it hard..
11:37 why didn y u pay the resources?
