Several things Nooblets: 1) Next time you should make a trap. SEEROWER made a really good mosa trap based on his wyvern trap that has no moving parts and can be used to tame other large sea creatures such as dunkleos and plesiosaurs, you should check that video out for inspiration. 2) It's a good idea to harvest the jellyfish after you kill them because they give you biotoxin which is more potent than narcotics and is used to make shocking tranq darts and for passive taming the electric eels that attacked you. 3) Like I stated before the electric eels that attacked you can be passive tamed with biotoxin (a trap would be best otherwise feed them after they discharge electricity and are running away). If you get a lot of them you can use them to knock out large, beefy sea tames like the mosa. Also know how fortunate you are that they were nerfed recently and don't knock you off your mount anymore. ;)
What you needed for this was a pair of Basilosaurus. Immune to electric eels, immune to jellyfish. They are very tanky, they have massive hitpoints and they regen health. Only flaw is that they can't stay down too deep for too long or they start loosing health. Mine was a 145 tame, it's nowhere near done leveling, and it has like 80k health if I can trust my memory, so, even if it loses a little health, it's not problematic to take it to down past its depth range for a while. Have fun with your new Mosa!

Nooblets, the reason your crossbow wasn't working is because everytime you were in the process of reloading you jumped back on your shark. So, when you jumped off it had to reload but the animation wasn't working...so those times were it wasn't shooting.. it was reloading.
Hey if you use a basilo you can not only tank a lot of hits, but you can also easily find a level mosas don't go over because that level just so happens to be the exact level the basilo starts taking depth damage, and its immune to jellyfish as well

I found a 384% ascendant crossbow in one drop, and since I've started using tranq arrows with it stuff goes unconscious in a fraction of the time, it's crazy. Feels a bit cheaty actually.
Only just started playing Ragnarok. But Mosa's are much easier to knock out using a frog (beelzebufo) with a good saddle as you can shoot from it's back

That took a painfully long time... You needed to have some balls and shoot it when it was coming for you once you got ahead of it as well as having someone else shoot. Be relentless, show no fear and only move at the last possible second.
You place the gates close enough together that the big fish can't swim through, place a door on both ends keeping at least one open to kite the beast in, then trap it in by shutting the door as your ride tanks the target. Trust me, I've been doing it for years. Painless (minus the time and effort to make the gates).
So how about I took a long break bout season pass and my first underwater counter was jelly fish my brilliant idea was to try and bite them with my shark and died
nooblets.com if you time it correctly and have good gear you can just swim round in circles with it and it will never bite you. It's annoying to do but it can be done lol
tranq harpoons are a lot more effective in underwater traps ;) It is a shame the mosa trapping boat does not work anymore nowadays, not without adding the Moby-dick-less mod, or disabling leedsichtis (but the latter solution means you won't have access to dragon arena not tek cave on alpha difficulties...)
I'm not impressed by those harpoons too. My friends and I were looking at maybe trying to get a mosasaur and we thought we needed harpoons. But looking at how they perform in this video is atrocious. What a waste of resources. I'm using tranq arrows.

The harpoon bug disappearing happens with the longneck as well. It’s just a bug where the loading animation doesn’t play.

Why not use 4-6 behemoth gates at the bottom on the shelf so you can tame whatever you find easily, and without risk?

You would have to have some kind of ceiling on it but it would work fine. The only problem would be kiting one you want over to the trap.

Megaladons need a buff, btw are eels still overpowered? Haven't played in a few months.
Bioshock El Ammo Bandito no eels now have a timer so they can only stun you about every 10 seconds. When they do stun you it’s only about 5 seconds
