Love the discussion. I completely agree that wearing braces (or a belt) is unnecessary if your pants are fitted so you don’t need them. Regarding the old rules for combining braces, belt, and/or waistcoats, you were both right. In the past, braces were purely functional and weren’t supposed to be seen except in the most casual situations. The purpose of the waistcoat is to cover the waistline of the trousers and the button straps of the braces. Shirts were considered undergarments. When belts came in, they were considered stylish, so you did not wear a waistcoat to cover them - and, since they fulfilled the same function as the braces, you didn’t wear both. (There were exceptions for specific functions like braces that supported heavy tool belts to keep the weight off the hips.) Regarding “esquire,” many others have commented on how it’s used in the U.S. In is also an unofficial (usually self claimed) title for an untitled gentleman.
You guys should do an episode of your favorite American "Things".. Movies, TV shows, Sport teams, Actors, Cities.. Etc.. Since you mentioned Homeland which is one of my favorite shows also.. J.G. from NYC
If ur wearing pleated trouser, always put on ur braces. It'll make your trouser drape better & helps those pleats to stay sharp as razor blades all day long.
Your attitudes are so chill and carefree...I love it! Great as always...
Thanks Demetrios 🙌

Where do you get the horseshoe with the lapels. Thanks
I love your guys style, really cool, a lot of swag. Thank you!
What are your thoughts on matching waist coat lapels to jacket lapels? If one is pique, should they both be pique?
Can one wear a lapel pin on one's waistcoat/vest, even when it has no 'lapel' as such?
That blazer with the patches????? 😯🔥🔥🔥🔥
