The rear screen attached to the seat is a safety issue. In a car accident, the screen would fly right into the face of the passenger. That is why Tesla has a smaller rear screen down low on the console. It let's them maintain the 5 star rating for safety. Otherwise a great looking product.

I agree. I got ceiling mounted tablet mount for the Y when my kid was rear facing, now I got the backseat headrest mount that he is front facing. I am already on my 2nd seat mount because it broke even after adding epoxy for extra strength. These kids just kick and hang onto it when getting in and out of their car seat. I have an X also and never used the rear screen. I don’t want my kid looking down the entire time so it’s only good for adjusting climate and what not. One thing I did change was change the tablet holder to a MagSafe mount. It’s personal preference but I’m MagSafe everything.
So, if you drive for Uber or Lyft, could you lock down an iPad so the passenger doesnt have all functions but you can offer as a nice perk for the rider?
My first reaction to Tesla's rear screens in the Model S refresh was it was nothing short of being a kick magnet for kids in their carseats and the car itself, into a vomit comet as backseat passengers would have to look down for significant amounts of time, making carsickness far more likely. Given how much Tesla is still tied to charging for their vehicles, a screen in the rear of each of the front seats seems a much better option. Of course, Tesla is looking to reduce cost and complexity first and foremost, so practicable customer comfort is not always a priority.
It's overrated for my use simply because I'll never sit in the backseat, and you have to really angle your head down to look at it. Makes it uncomfortable
The greatest shock is that my M3 RWD LFP is the last acceptable tesla, (because the Model Y will soon be a stripped-out one when it’s updated). The commonwealth countries have numerous roundabouts and this profit boosting idea is going to be seen as just another example of American auto manufacturers being incapable of producing world market cars. Ignorance is deeply ingrained.
I never have rear passengers but if i did im not sure I'd want a giant tabet flying off in their face in an accident. There is a reason Tesla bolted down their screen with so many screws. Its about safety.
