Hmmm. Everyone around me for decades always had access to therapy. What does a color have to do with seeking therapy? I begin to see that Black people experiences is what separates them from other Blacks. Because I can’t relate to a lot of my own people.
I don’t believe we don’t change we just “shift” that may be a woman’s perspective because that’s her experience. As a man when I found God he/she changed my life and turned it around. When I look in the mirror I see a whole new person who I am proud of. I no longer think the way I used to think. It’s evolving. When ever you evolve you change you don’t “shift”. To add even to shift is to change. When the Earth quakes it shifts the land causing that land to become disrupted. Thus changing the land scape. Therefore technically if you shift, even if you are suppressing something you have changed the way you perform that habit, because you don’t blatantly do it the same as you once did. Shifting is an action once you move anything you have CHANGED where it once was.

I get 100% what Nick was saying about being raised in a Christian household and the rhetoric one inadvertently hears about them being above everyone else because Christ is with them. What Christ said was pure, but man’s hearts are not pure. Therefore broken people with a list of dysfunctional behaviors and childhood trauma get ahold of scripture and turns it into a weapon to be used against their fellow man. I don’t know how many times I was told I was anointed to preach, God has a calling on my life, Gods favor is on me, I have Gods grace and so on. All these things are ok but I was never taught through scripture that I had a bad attitude or that I lacked self discipline and restraint. My parents didn’t help me understand that I was greedy and full of pride by correctly using Gods word. There is a such thing as Christian Narcissism. Nick was explaining what that looks like in the life of someone who grew up with care givers who had an imbalanced interpretation of scripture.
Such an important conversation to be had … cudos to Nick for his leadership and vulnerability … I hope the ones that need to hear this receive it from a healing perspective

Never ever believe what comes out of a narcissist's mouth, especially in public. Nick is giving you all you want to hear, and you are all falling for it. It's all an act.
Go back and watch. It wasn't softness... it was performative. Think about this.. If someone accuses you of being an actual Narcissist, your response is going to be 'I love that he said that' with a smile? And just like she accused Nick of doing the previous episode, she dug herself out of it and escaped by pointing the finger at Cam with her assumptions that Cam was triggered because 'It meant, not him' then Nick laughs because he sees through it and asks her sarcastically 'did you pick up on that?' ... Great episode! Nick and Cam seem to be remixing how some African civilizations lived. Being an African , let me point out that there are ancient African ways of living where one man fathered kids with multiple wives. However, the key word is wives, because everyone lived in the same household/compound. Kids grew up together, mothers had to sign off on any additional wives, they all shared responsibilities, and the father had his duties under the same roof. This structure is almost non-existent now.

40:09 Cheyenne is right, black men needs take accountability of their actions but black women should also be held accountable for dating/having babies with low functioning men.
While accountability is important for both sides, it's important to acknowledge that the reality for many Black women is that the pool of 'high-functioning' Black men is limited, often due to systemic factors like economic disparities, mass incarceration, and lack of access to quality opportunities. This makes it even more crucial for Black men to address these issues and work toward self-improvement. Real change starts with tackling these larger challenges that start with black men not black women.
I told a friend that I wish she had been there for me in my time of need like I was there for her. She ended the friendship. Sharing your feelings will show you how people are.
I respect and appreciate everything she is saying, and has said in previous interviews. There is NOTHING wrong with her not having children and to those who have a problem with HER life you need to take a good look within because that’s a YOU problem.
Leaving women with children with no intention of building with their mother is irresponsible. Deadbeat dad isn’t the same thing. But the child does miss out in some regard going without both of their parents
@cmichelle6888 I think the difference is you can be irresponsible while financially taking care of your kids i.e. not a deadbeat. A deadbeat is irresponsible and financially neglectful.
What is amazing with what has been discussed is that after therapy and learning to sit with myself and ask the uncomfortable questions it has drastically changed my perspective on life. Would love another one of these 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
I can do all things through Christ that strengthens me is more about Christ strength and ability than our own strength and ability. I’m able to do what I do because of the strength of Christ at operation within me.
A couple of observations: 1. Nick's jacket is fire. 2. Dr. Bryant plays a lot of semantics with the way she labels things. After a while, the labels lose their value. 3. There is an interesting dichotomy where Nick is very open to the critiques, however the attention he receives in being picked apart may actually feed his narcissism.
Nothing can lose value If it is indeed valuable it only gains value through out time. The question would be what is valuable to you personally not the weight and value of what's being said. In my opinion.
It's always about the other person never trying to see what they got going on...then take what you say and use it to make conversation that's sad.......cause they can't even get a simple conversation out with using your words and thoughts
With all do respect to Dr Cheyenne and all the good that she is- it sounds like she attracted herself (aka men with the same core wound of abandonment) in the past relationships she referenced. And that likely played a part in the magnetism of the relationship. This kind of intense attraction/paradigm is a trauma bond. Where people relate from their wound and not their worth. The men that she was in relationships with also seemed anxiously attached to her (implied by their unwillingness to assert healthy boundaries with someone who was well practiced in violating boundaries (aka controlling behaviors). The anxious-avoidant dance is common.... I hope these brothers see, validate and choose to tend to their own trauma/wounds.
This is a very high-level comment! Very few will register this. What’s your take on who people typically end up with. Like attracts like; opposites attract; we marry our mothers? i can’t seem to put my hand on it

As someone who's been watching Umar for over a decade I can't believe that he would attempt analyze someone's personal relationships when he has never brought his children or exes on any platform. I would love to hear from them. If he's, at the least, manupulating the community for over a decade for $$$ for a school that has never opened what do we think the extent of his manipulation of his family is. We already know he lied about his ancestral ties to Frederick Douglass because his real family came out. I need people to put him on pause until he's held accountable for his own life.

Love love love! Keep working Nick my Libra brother! I love her. Could totally be my therapist.
This was such a great conversation. I identify with being a hybrid but I still have work to do.
Thanks for differentiating: good, healthy, bad and toxic. Self regulating warrior for all the healthy will be mostly good in the long run
Leaving women with children with no intention of building with their mother is irresponsible. Deadbeat dad isn’t the same thing. But the child does miss out in some regard going without both of their parents
@iyannai09 Very true!
I don't understand the difference. A deadbeat dad is considered irresponsible dear.
@@cmichelle6888 I think she is speaking of the difference between a being husband and a being father.
@cmichelle6888 I think the difference is you can be irresponsible while financially taking care of your kids i.e. not a deadbeat. A deadbeat is irresponsible and financially neglectful.
what do you say about Eboni k Williams and others having test tube babies?
I need nothing outside of me to support my mood. This is my mood forever.. I choose positive energy at all times…
I appreciate this transparent conversation. Much needed.
I'm dealing with a narcissistic and I gave him exactly what he need to hear......
Thank you Nick for keeping it lit with substance conversations
What is amazing with what has been discussed is that after therapy and learning to sit with myself and ask the uncomfortable questions it has drastically changed my perspective on life. Would love another one of these 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Wow how much you can learn by listening to people talk.🗣️💯🤝🏾💯🗣️
I love how vulnerable she is
This was so good!!! Loved the element of addressing it right away and not having issues or drama in the community.
43:05 I need to see Cheyenne & Umar do a podcast episode together whether it’s on Nick Cannon’s or Cam Newton’s podcast.
Yes, maybe on Shannon Sharpes show.
I can do all things through Christ that strengthens me is more about Christ strength and ability than our own strength and ability. I’m able to do what I do because of the strength of Christ at operation within me.
Good interview! I have so much respect for a man who can state his heart! Good for you both! I am definitely working on it.
A couple of observations:
Nothing can lose value
If it is indeed valuable it only gains value through out time.
The question would be what is valuable to you personally not the weight and value of what's being said. In my opinion.
Number three is spot on. Any attention is good attention to Nick. As long as it is all about him.
3. was a great observation
I actually agree with this
keep going…they’re both just stroking each other’s “egos”
Wow wow wow , Dr. Cheyenne 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 thank you 🙏🏾 mam’
As she talks about her father the light bulb is going off in Nick’s narcissistic head .. describing him to a tea !
Beyond Food For Thought!! Great Conversation/Dialogue. Thanks For Sharing. 👏🏾👍🏾👋🏾
This conversation makes me feel better❤
Thank you for clarifying. We came from a broken family.
When Nick claimed wearing a turban made him feel like a king, I knew he was delusional. He looks like Tyler Perry's character Madea.
“Does This Reality (perception) Serve You?” 🔥
It's always about the other person never trying to see what they got going on...then take what you say and use it to make conversation that's sad.......cause they can't even get a simple conversation out with using your words and thoughts
This is such a mature conversation. I love to see it. Props to nick.
Holla! Dr. Umar. I like the analysis of what Cam said and meant.
This was good. We need Dr. Spirit on here!
WISH my Dad were like yours Dr. Bryant.
With all do respect to Dr Cheyenne and all the good that she is- it sounds like she attracted herself (aka men with the same core wound of abandonment) in the past relationships she referenced. And that likely
played a part in the magnetism of the relationship.
Like attracts like; opposites attract; we marry our mothers? i can’t seem to put my hand on it
The men that she was with were just men..some were perfectly fine. she is broken. Been broken.. thats why she's single. No kids. No family.
Period.
I bet 1000 bucks most of her exes are in amazing healthy marriages with kids right now..
She was the problem
Yall talk so much shyt about her but keep posting her. She’s doing something right 😂❤
That was a great session for both of them and myself as well, thanks Doc and Nick
hey 👋 counsel culture and I hope you’re doing well today I love you ❤️ and awesome 🤩 Conversation and have a great 👍 Friday and have fun 🤩 weekend and god bless you and your family .
Thank you same to you
I love this!! And Love, Peace, and Prosperity to you ✨️ 🙏🏽 ❤️
She dishes it, and just proved she could take it. Great episode
He keeps trying to re define the definition of broken home.
I see Nicks growth.
Tony Gaskins will approve of this outfit😂😂😂🎉
EXACTLY 💯‼️🤣
she switched it up real quick 😂
😂😂😂
Whose father is he?
Chile PLEASE. 😂 Tony ain't nobody to be assessing what is and what isn't appropriate. That's a grown behind woman.
yes keep bringing her back!! i love her
I did like this episode, Nick was more receptive this time, I'm so glad.
on the issue of abandonment...it's aslo key to see if values align
Adding an early comment because the drip is supreme in real time!
These are therapeutic just listening. Her and Dr Umar interview will do big numbers.❤
Love love love! Keep working Nick my Libra brother!
Yo Nick if you’re able to get Dr Bryant & Dr Umar and the same room 😮💨😮💨😮💨 sooooooo much will be impacted!!!! . That will be major in so many ways 🙏🏾
I love that Dr. Bryant listened to Umar’s feedback without getting defensive.
Very refreshing, it shows she takes her job seriously, it's not about her going at people and polishing her ego. She's genuine.
Dr. Umar didn't say anything different from what she already said about herself previously.
Nick I’m proud of you as a black man interviewing a black woman. You are very different with her in this interview. As a black woman I felt angry during the first conversation because I felt she was disrespected by your responses and body language. But I feel healed from this interview from the same thing-your responses and body language. Thank you for respecting her and having a very nice conversation so I can learn from her genius as your guest and enjoy the conversation. I appreciate you bringing her on again. Thanks. You are a real one.
That would be dope to have a round table and/or panel…
With at LEAST a moderator to keep it civil, and functioning, not that they couldn't or wouldn't on their own but just in case.
All of this is great, I love psychology but, I just wish Nick Cannon did more movies during those “Love Don’t Cost a thing” years.
That’s the entire message.
16:57 I loved how Dr Cheyenne called Nick out and I love how Nick said Dr u added sauce with the no one else matters on that ,
As someone who's been watching Umar for over a decade I can't believe that he would attempt analyze someone's personal relationships when he has never brought his children or exes on any platform.
