    Thanks for a great video. It solves problems I ran into when cleaning my gun. By the way, just a suggestion, when you set up your camera, you might put narrow, colored, tape on the mat around what's showing on the screen. That way, when you're working, you'll know what the boundaries of what the camera will catch are.

    Love all your videos! Thank you for all the help you’ve provided all of us! I do have an issue. My fcu is from a first run x5 and it does not look like this. I do not have the disconnector between the sear housing and frame and have a small round spring with two tails that popped out from somewhere? I think I found that is called the safety spring. The x5 doesn’t have any external safety for this to operate. Any direction would be grateful.

  • @UncleDon226

    I have absolutely no idea how the FCU works. I watched the whole video, and I still dont know.
    But, I was given an FCU in parts for an 80% I am working on and I was able to follow along step-by-step. Did not have any problems, did not have any questions, and it all fit together as it was supposed to. It is very impressive that a novice like me can follow along to this and in under 20 minutes I have a functioning fire control unit. Great work not wasting anyone's time but also being thorough enough to follow along, thats a hard thing to balance

    I do have an interesting question that no one has been able to answer.
    I have a new sig p320 but there is slide moment up and down on the last round and during dry fire. I have sent the gun into sig and was told this was not an issue at 10 yards so they will not replace the fcu. This is not an issue with any of my other p320's and short of getting a new fcu, I do not know a work around. It seems the tolerance between the fcu and slide is the issue, and since the slide doesn't have that issue on the other FCU's that I have put it on, I am let to think I have a bad stock FCU housing and sig is refusing replace this.
    I again am open to thoughts and options

    While reassembling the pistol today (p320 AXG classic), somehow the FCU got caught on the slide and came out with the slide. I’ve taken this pistol down quite a few times and have never seen this happen. When I pulled it out from the slide, the Sear, and the larger pin on the left came out flinging the two little springs on the sear into the air. What a mess! My problem is that I can’t seem to get the sear to clip back into place. I’m assuming you need to get the sear all the way down before the pin on the right (larger pin), can be reinserted? Because I tried inserting the pin before and after trying to push the Sear with the springs attached, and neither worked. This made me believe that I might actually have to disassemble more of the FCU than I’m comfortable with doing. Do you think that this is true? That I will have to disassemble the back end to get the sear back in correctly? Or am I missing something here?

    • @SigGuy
      @SigGuy  2 года назад

      It came out by itself so logically you would have to think that it will go back in the same way. The seer can be removed and installed by just removing the pin and performing that task. Sometimes the takedown safety lever needs to be moved forward in order to get that pin in all the way. Either way even if you completely disassemble the whole thing to reassemble it it’s really not that hard once you’ve done it a couple times. Watching my video and following along you should have no problems completing the task. You’ve for this.

  • @zinccx2280
    @zinccx2280 9 месяцев назад

    Some may find it easier, if they have a full set of punches, to use the same size punch as the pin. This allows a smoother push out of the punch with the pin and avoids the circling motion of the punch.

    I've tried your method of installing the P320 trigger spring and I can't get the hole to match up with the nub on the trigger. I've read that the newer FCU's are more difficult. Can you please give me any hints.

    • @SigGuy
      @SigGuy  3 года назад

      The newer legion trigger is a little tighter fit because the pin on the trigger sits in a cavity sort of speak. While lining up the trigger bar you actually have to pull the trigger bar forward to line up with the pin. Just keep moving it all around as you’re pushing the trigger into the FCU in it will eventually line up. It does take a little extra time and patience. It will go together though. The little leg on the end of the trigger bar instead of being behind the sear housing it’s actually out towards the side so you can pull the trigger bar more forward to get it on to the pin.

    Just a heads up for anyone having the same struggle I did, I had to end up putting the trigger and trigger bar together then put the trigger into the frame with the return spring end of the trigger bar disconnected. Then you can put the straight(ish) end through the bar from the outside and rotate the hook side up into it's hole from the inside and you're done. Might have just been the AC +10% return spring I was using but I couldn't get the trigger bar to sit behind the trigger with it attached at the spring end.

    • @SigGuy

      The way I do it prevents people from bending or distorting the trigger bar spring. If the spring is deformed then the trigger will not operate properly.
