Between you and the Sig Guy I have really come to understand my P320. I really love the in depth videos that you have supplied. Keep up the great work.

OMFG what an absolute fucking legend you are sir. I don't own a SIG yet but want one bad. I can't even begin to imagine why anyone at this point would even attempt to make a video like this, the bar literally can not be set higher.
I used to be hesitant when it came to tearing down my FCU. Thanks to your videos. I am now able to take it down and re build it with confidence. It has also helped me understand how my firearm functions. Thank you.
You have a very fine and complete video on the teardown and reassembly of the Sig P320, without any doubt it will be my go to video for the 320. Great work!!!
That was awesome. Love the clean all white back drop. Smooth and methodical. The part numbers were a nice touch. The speed run at the end was a confidence builder. I took a screenshot of the complete parts lay out lol. Perfect video.
Spectacular video! First time taking apart my FCU and I was VERY thankful I had your video to walk me through it and reference. The shots were all very clear and up close so you could see exactly what was being manipulated and the info was concise. Keep up the great work!

@@SIGMECHANICS I actually was installing my Grey Guns competition trigger kit so as you can imagine the anxiety was high with it also being the first time disassembling the FCU but I had the parts and figured I might as well throw em in. Pre-travel is not really a mechanical goal with the GG kit. Since the only tuning you can do is post travel. However, if you watch my video on my DIY competition trigger job, you can buy a trigger bar, modify it a little and remove (up to), all your pre-travel.
Thank you! I tried hard to make it like reading a book. There’s just so many parts and I remember when I started off it seemed like a lot. I made this video as if something I wish I had at that time. Glad it helped!!
This is probably the most detailed videos on the FCU. Thank you!!! As a side note, I was trying to disassemble the FCU the other day and for the life of me, I couldn’t get the trigger bar to move out of the sear housing. The problem was that I had previously replaced my trigger with the Armory Craft’s trigger. So I had to back out the pre-travel screw before the trigger bar would budge. 😅😅

@@SIGMECHANICS small, round, with the ends almost opposite from each other. The Compact shoots fine, which is where the spring came from. This Compact is an older one, before the voluntary upgrade, which it was upgraded. The legion didn't have it
@@SIGMECHANICS Sent! Yes I believe you're correct. I wonder why Sig put it back in it when they upgraded it.. either way, I only noticed it when I disassembled both and discovered this spring from the Compact one, and it dry fires no problem, when reassembled..
Yeah, now that I saw the picture, 100% it’s the older safety lever spring. If they kept it after the upgrade, it’s because they kept the old safety lever that has a little notch to receive it (not sure why). You can easily take care of that by buying the updated safety lever. I would put it back in there though, even though I’ve done it myself… since it’s safety related don’t play with it.
Did everything step by step in this video for my stripped FCU p320 in .45acp. The only issue I keep getting after purchasing two trigger springs is the trigger system with the kit my lower parts kit came with. Whenever I press the trigger to dry fire, hold down the trigger, rack the slide back and forth and let go of the trigger, the trigger will not reset. I can use my finger to push the trigger out and it’ll disengage again but other than that it just doesn’t reset. Not sure if it’s the trigger bar or if I really just have two bad springs (one came with the parts kit, the other one I actually just bought recently and still have the issue). Any help would be awesome to know why my trigger can’t reset while holding it down l, racking the slide, and releasing the trigger after the slide rack.
The number one cause is an incorrectly installed trigger that’s causing the outer frame of the trigger (the part with the pin on it that connects with trigger bar) to rub against the grip. Usually caused by the trigger shoe not being pushed all the way through the FCU. I would disassemble and try again.
Everything but the take down safety lever bar (black bar on the left side) which is made for the .45 P320. The FCU is also different but only the extractor at the top. Other than that the rest is the grip, slide and barrel but not much on the FCU.
@@SIGMECHANICSthat shit broke on my Legion. Literally broke in two pieces 😂 still works without the broken part but never heard that this happend to someone
While I was trying to install the FCU into a Wilson Combat Grip Mod, the Safety Lever Pivot Pin fell out. I'm not sure why that happened. I put it back in the correct hole and the pistol seems to function as it should. I have not had a chance to shoot it yet to make sure it works with live ammo. When i did put the FCU into the WC grip mod, I had extreme trouble putting the take down lever back in. It just would not go. Not sure if anyone else has had this problem.
Those seem to be two different issues. The pin falling out is actually a common occurrence, no big deal. You did the right thing, so long as you can see the safety rise and fall with your trigger pull you are good to go. The takedown lever not able to go in is also common, you just need to rotate while turning, sometimes a solid smack of a nylon hammer helps too. (Assuming the issue was the last few millimetres for the lever to sit flush with the grip). I hope this helps!
Yeah, you’re right. It’s an ejector. I’m just so used to calling it a mag stop bar because so many people bend it out of shape when they force a magazine in there.

Hi @ Mort Tucker. Everything is fully functional.

@@SIGMECHANICS thank you
I love my 320 to death but disassembling and reassembling the fcu sometimes makes me think otherwise😅 (and this video is extremely helpful btw)
What are the numbers on the bottom of the FCU referring to?
Those are just stamped references to which location the FCU was made. Nothing too special about them as they are more for internal reference.
Are there any plastic components in the FCU?
Yes, there is a small plastic spring post which hold the slide catch spring. Other than this everything else is metal.

The plastic top spring post broke!?? That’s an absolute first!
How install safety lever spring? Not shown in your video
@Don, Are you talking about the takedown safety lever spring? Or are you talking about the Pre Upgrade FCU that had a safety lever spring?
@@SIGMECHANICS Thank you so much. No I feel better about it.
Magazine stop bar? I thought it was the ejector.
Yeah, you’re right. It’s an ejector. I’m just so used to calling it a mag stop bar because so many people bend it out of shape when they force a magazine in there.
@@SIGMECHANICS lol. Damn. Appreciate the videos. Some of the best I've seen for sure. Some methods just work better than others.
👌
I got one
