When you watch G3 as its own thing, I think it works. The animation looks nice imo and the friendship dynamic seems cute. It feels like MH is going back to their roots too, with more spooky elements and drama. I think I can get used to these characters if I don't compare them to G1. I would even say Frankie has more personality than in the previous shows. I did have an issue with this plot though. Draculaura was doing something against her family's tradition, which can be a real-life issue. However, if everyone accepts something as illegal, then I don't think this sends a very good message.

i think draculaura and being a witch is not really give bad messages as it is less about her breaking the law and more about her breaking tradition.
it doesnt matter if it’s law or not, it shows the perspective of someone that could be in danger and even be abandoned by family due to others prejudice of something harmless that is a part of them, it teaches empathy towards groups that are discriminated (sometimes even legally as well)
Agreed I’m very hopeful for G3 I can’t wait to see future episodes and I really hope other will give this series a chance
Makes sense for Toralei to have European routes. They really did their research in comparison to G1 that was a little all over the place. Probably have to elaborate so let me go full mythology/geography nerd.🤓
Her accent initially came off as either Irish or Scottish to me but, no matter what "ish" they were going for(Polish and Finnish work) they are regions of Europe with a wide spectrum of mythical beings with one being cat-folk. They were practically just ware cats who were either peasants, merchants, or thieves. They are also a very popular race in Dungeons and Dragons campaigns(Europe is not the only place to have cat folk. Japan has the bakeneko and Indigenous American has the wumpus). While werewolves have multiple interpretations across the globe, Brazil has an entire town known for a cryptid called lobisomem and the United States has a wolf man cryptid for all states but Hawii, werewolves or even wolf walkers are mostly known for being apart of Scottish and Irish mythology. I actually find it interesting how one person with narrative routes dating back to Great Britain and England being opposed against someone with narrative routes going back to Irish and Scottish myths knowing that these two regions were at odds a few hundreds of years ago. So, yeah. Toralei being "bri'ish" still makes sense. Try comparing that to G1 Lagoona Blue being inspired by The Creature of The Black Lagoon, a film that took place in South American but, she has routes with Greek Sirens and is a Great Barrier Reef native which is off the coast of Australia.😵💫

I'm actually supposed at the more creepy elements in the show considering how kiddy they seemed to be aiming. Cleo pouring her heart out was legitimately kind of clever. They also got away with saying devil and maybe I'm out of touch but that wouldn't have flown in a kids show when I was a kid.
*SPOILER ALERT*
IN episode 2 , Frankie finds out that their dog Watzie was originally created to protect Monster High from something, and then Frankie goes "What could possibly hurt Monster High?" and then finds a severed hand that doesn't belong to them. So my guess is that it's gonna be mostly anthological, but will have an overarching storyline about the thing that Watzie was created for (Protecting Monster High) Also, I'm actually liking G3 Lagoona. Of Course she couldn't be any more different from G1 Lagoona, who will always be the best, but I think it's cute that she's a little scary now. Like, she's mostly sweet and nice, but has random carnivorous outbursts.

Honestly I like what they’re doing with Lagoona better so far because it’s wayyyy better than the tiring romantic drama with G1 Lagoona and Gil I mean seriously they should’ve broke up because everything involving her was centered around Gil ( or involved him) at least they are doing more with her personality this time around

Personally love Toraleis new voice. I am British and she was always my favourite character, I seriously almost cried when I heard her voice!!!
I like the new G3 cartoon. It's cute, zany, and fun to watch. While I do think it's an interesting spin to have Draculaura being obsessed with witchcraft, I also realized that this means we won't get much of witch characters in G3. Witches are one of the most common characters in Halloween-themed series! Does this mean that we won't get to see characters like Casta Fierce or any other witches in the future?

I am so hyped for this Monster High animation series 😭😭😭😭 I really enjoyed the full episode 😭👑💖 Also I think it makes sense that Torelei is British since the UK is associated with cats.
Well now all I can Toralei being is a British Punk Rocker, a big deviation from who she was but this is great for her character in the long run to make her more than the antagonist she was in the original webisodes and movies. This Lagoona is a complete 180 from her original self. Deuce was desperate enough to eat salad but then the spell got one thing with his food right and he thanks whomever did that. I guess these phones have filters that can take a visible picture of Vampires. This was a pretty good episode. Thank you for sharing it ^^

In theory, Toralei with a British accent would be a pretty cool thing, but the way it's delivered makes G3 Toralei sound less like a Bad Girl and more like a Karen.

Toralei’s accent doesn’t really bother me like that (I’m guessing because I wasn’t really close to her like that). It’ll take a little adjustment though, but it’s not that bad to the point where it bothers me. It’s actually cool!

YAAAAAY!!! I've been waiting for this video before this episode officialky came out on Monster High and Nickelodeo YT channels! I mean,I found it posted in a relatively bad quality in some channel before the official release so I commented about it under one of your videos and also DM'd you on ig about it. But then it officially came out which is great cos you got to make this video with good quality pics^^ I was kinda surprised that Toralei's British now but I guess it fits cos in G3 she comes from an elite family and British accent is typically associated with royalty and aristocracy so maybe that's what the creators were going for. Lagoona is absolutely adorable but her idea of romance is a bit twisted lol. I mean,I don't think that ppl in couples devour their lover and make decorations out of their bones,haha. But she's still so sweet no matter what^^ Overall the episode was pretty funny, can't wait for October 28th to see all the rest(if they'll post all of 'em at once of course. Technically since vampires don’t have reflections, Dracula shouldn’t even show up at all

i like to think that he's constantly wearing full body makeup so he can appear in photos/film
In the OG Monster High it says that some students used mirrorless camera lenses so that vampires could show up in pictures so the same rule might apply here.
They should bring back CA Cupid in Nickelodeon monster high series
Toralei has an accent. When it was announced that Abbey wouldn’t have one, people praised it because they said it was playing off on the foreign student trope or something……so abbey won’t have an accent but Toralei will? Still liked the episode though, Frankie has more personality trait than in the past. Can’t wait to see more!
Toraleis voice actor is probably british. Abbeys didn't use to be a voice actor with an accent.

I was at work so when I got home I started watching the Movie from the Classroom song until the end and I saw the Food fight episode of the MH SERIES and another one focused on Frankie thinking they're cursed and getting Watzie...It was cool 😎 the Episodes were 12ish minutes each though.
I like the episode, it may take some time in getting used to, but I still had fun. I'm just excited who are the possible students in Monster High. I hope they have but new and old characters.
The cast is great but I honestly miss Draculauras accent

I adore Frankie and I’ve already begun to head canon them as being autistic (I’m autistic myself and non-binary, so maybe I’m just projecting because I related to their behavior so far) The episode was a bit face paced in my opinion, but I’m guessing it’s because it’s one of the first few episodes that are typically used for establishment of the character. I’m not a big fan of Clawdeen’s new voice, she sound a lot younger than the rest of the main cast. I also have to say I’m quite enjoying this new Deuce, he’s just a goober! Cleo only had one line but her new voice is so nice, she also has one of my favorite designs. Her and Frankie are definitely my favorite designs for this show. Lagoona is also very cute and I already like her more than I thought and want to see her get more screen time, same with Cleo. I feel like they’re going to slowly intrigrate more ghouls into the main cast and are just beginning the series with Draculaura, Clawdeen and Frankie. (I hope all 3 of them get to be the main characters of this series because that’d really nice to see.) I didn’t mention her but I enjoy the new Draculaura as well!~

Uhmm... this show is not an anime... it's a western cartoon animated series not japanese... but this toralei looks more cuter than g1.
The thing about British people is they can take a regular word, call someone said word out of anger, & it's near equivalent of an American person swearing. Like a British person saying "You nob!" or "You git!"
The teacher character reminded me so much of Scary Godmother.

The animation is perfectly fine. The show has some promise but this episode showcases that the writers maybe haven't hid their stride on how much stuff to put into ten minutes or not. See with super short episodes everything had to be succinct and snappy. Now with more time they can put more in, buuuut maybe they tried to put in too much cuz everything felt rlly rushed. Made it hard to take in all of the jokes. The voice acting is, well it's not giving it for me. Some characters do work like Frankie works fantastically and ironically lagoona shows promise. Not a fan of cockney torelei either as now she's more like a rumpleteazer from cats reference. As is I hope this is just pilot pains and they get better

it could be either the voice acting or its mentioned in Draculaura's song "Here for life" that shes very fluent in english and thai, which means shes probably had the ability to lose her accent

I like the idea if her being British, but the VA is American and as a British person, you can really tell she's not originally British. It sounds jarring and cringeworthy to me. I feel like if they wanted her to be British they should have employed someone with the accent already. I know it's not a new thing for voice actors to try and portray different accents but I feel like they could have done a better job than this
