I have only ever cruised once on Cunard Q E. Amazing 23 nights to Caribbean. £1200.Inside cabin No upselling. The entertainment was first class and different every night. Lots to do every day and a beautiful ship. Highly recommended. This was pre covid. I would not go on an American ship having seen them in Caribbean ports. Massive and loud!!! Interesting vlog. Stay with P&O it sounds much better and not ripped off at every point.
I use the similar gun, find it great
I use it on my arthritic knees daily and find much relief
Good luckCarla
Interesting video ladies. I get really cross when tips are added on automatically too.
P & 0 in Australia is being taken over by the Carnival Cruise Line. I'm unsure if that is happening in the UK. If it is and you travel with Carnival in the future, it will be interesting to hear what you think of them. Good to have Tammy's input too.
Very interesting and lots of great points to consider - thanks Carla and Tammy!
Thank you both.👍👍
I've only cruised with Marella (formally TUI) Cruises. 4 times so far with 2 more booked. I've loved every bit of them.
I feel really safe and well looked after. The crew are amazing, and nothing is too much trouble. Cruises are 'all inclusive', so drinks and tips are included. You can upgrade the drinks package but so far not needed too. The ships although a little older, and smaller (which i like) well maintained and spotlessly clean. The food is pretty amazing too and there are speciality dining restaurants at an extra charge if you wish. Personally, i havent as yet.
I don't think I want to change cruise lines, though I am interested in other people's experiences.
Enjoyed this. Thank you, LADIES.
P.S. I enjoy everything about airports, I'm always excited lol. I always fly to join my cruise. I like to be in the sunshine ASAP.
Really informative thank you😊
Most interesting! Never cruised myself but it's good to have the inside track f i ever do!i
Good Morning thank you for the insight xxx Lesley xxx
I agree with everything you said about tipping enjoyed the vlog ladies ❤
Hi Carla and Tammy. Bloody love you pair chatting. So funny!!! Especially your no spends. Love the cruise blogs really helpful. And I was watching this BBC Scotland programme you might find interesting called lipoedemia Lorna's story. Anyway love your vlogs. Thanks for the entertainment xx
This was very interesting
I have to agree with you about the upselling, we haven't been with Royal Caribbean since pre COVID and noticed a massive difference! If one person asked us about speciality restaurants 20 did.
Prices were very high but we don't really spend once we've paid for the cruise so it doesn't affect us😂
Ship wise, she wasn't a favourite of mine (beautiful ship but layout not the best...IMO) and the smaller RC ships are lovely. Food wise I also agree with you...RC do food and service sooo well! Great video Carla, can't believe we missed you by a week 🥰
That was really interesting. We get cruise ships that stop in Greenock, 10 minutes from where I live. I would like to investigate what ships stop there and where they sail. It would be very handy if I could board at Greenock. That massager looked great. I have a bad knee, too.
Only cruised with P&O (Azura) loved it , going again October but on ARVIA 😊, haven’t been since 2018 so will see what’s changed since the pandemic era as people saying lots has changed.
Would ever go on a cruise those ships are death traps
I think you've answered your own question, P&O all the way !! x
Last week on Ventura it was hit and miss with info, some got ship maps handed to them we didn’t - we did have the horizon quite late each night but I found it funny they are trying to cut down on waste and not give disposable cups but the horizon had the same sheet containing meal times everyday 😝 also we kept randomly getting a tv guide sheet added when we already had one, I didn’t know p&o took cases away I popped them under the bed. The films on the cabin tv were quite out of date. I did like the look at the virtual window though we could have done with that on Ventura as the mast camera always seemed dark and not a true reflection of outside I also got annoyed with people hogging the smoking area on the top deck including children 😳 personally do not smoke around children so that felt so wrong also no biscuits on p&o for us some did by the tonnes some didnt 🤔 p&o overall seemed hit and miss with a lot of things quite inconsistent
❤ I really enjoyed this video, immensely. I jotted the info down and have more of an insight on the tipping system on both ships as well as what to expect. Both cruises sound nice. They both sound appealing and luxurious. The British ship, I was curious about the food. I’m American from Florida so very curious about what would I expect? Anthem I would pretty much expect. Thank you!❤
Worked for Princess Cruises for 5 years, 20 years ago as Pursers staff, mainly as Captain or Chief Engineers secretary and loved it so many great memories and it’s where I met my husband but not sure I would want to cruise as a passenger, seen too many things (had to do a cockroach count in the galleys at night when I was Night Manager and caught the crew members picking their nose with no gloves whilst making the pastries for breakfast)!!
Yuk
We've done P & O, MSC & Princess. Really enjoyed Princess & would recommend. Also big fan of P & O. Enjoyed your vlog about this, nice to hear a good comparison, thanks.
Last year we sailed on both Anthem and Iona. We much preferred Iona probably partly because we were an adult only party. If we’d had young children in the group then I am sure they would prefer Royal. I agree with everything you said. Royal Caribbean are known for ‘nickel and diming’ once you are onboard, constantly trying to upsell. The tips are ridiculous - we much prefer P&O for this, plus the drinks are much cheaper. The main dining room food was dire on Anthem but we enjoyed the speciality restaurants, having bought a package of 3 meals in advance. We loved the speciality dining on Iona and again it is much cheaper. We struggled on Anthem to find anywhere to sit in an evening as every bar was packed. We never had an issue on Iona and there were 2 extra people in our party on that trip. Hands down Iona wins for us. It would take a lot to get me back on Anthem!
I much prefer P&O to any of the American lines our worst cruises and we do go for balcony rooms where RCI & Celebrity , Princess where better , we love P&O , Cunard ( Although American now ) and Fred Olsen --- the best food at sea !!!
Great Video. I haven't been on a cruise as yet so this was very informative. Here in Australia P&O has just announced that they will shut down in Australia after 90 years in March 25 and be integrated into Carnival Cruise line. They were our budget cruise line so it's quite sad to see them go.
My hubby wrks for p&o crewses x
I live in Australia and P&O have recently announced they will cease coming here 😢 many years ago I cruised with Oriana loved it but was much younger drinks were duty free and cheap ...REMEMBER those days 😂😂. 2020 cruised to NZ with Ovation of the seas RC it was fabulous but agree they want money for extra dinners and drink packages we declined all. The food was fabulous we had a balcony, and have to add we managed this trip just prior to Covid-19 and NZ shutting their borders. A great summing up of your ships food for thought if I cruise in Europe ❤🇦🇺⚓️🛳
We've done P&O Azura twice, Britannia twice and Iona once. We havent yet ventured on a different cruise line as we really arent into gimicks or pushy sales teams. Going to the Caribbean in November, with P&O, were there in 2018 so will be interesting to see if the service has changed much.
We very much choose the cruise fot the different destinations and a comfortable cabin. 😊 hope to meet you on board sometime 😅😅
Just got back from a week on Iona with P&O - absolutely amazing. The app for booking stuff onboard works really well but glad to still have the horizon each day too. Always been with P&O and would take a lot to persuade me away from them. Service from start to finish so good. Brilliant review ladies
That gadget looks like a mini Dalek!😂😂😂😂😂
👍👍😊
Really enjoyed this video - never cruised - I suffer with claustrophobia so windowless cabins have always been a no no for me , but the idea of not being able to see out of a window almost everywhere on ship 😮!
I know this is a random question but what is the deal with the clock behind you both ? It seems such a random place to be 🤷♀️.
Thanks again for such an interesting video xxx
😂😂 I've wondered about the clock, too. We're 'twins' as I need to see through windows, too, or I'd panic. Not to mention my PTSD from watching Titanic a few times. I'm scared of the Sea. I'd love to try the River Cruises, totally different I know. The idea of sitting on a sun lounger ,whilst watching the Scenery pass, really appeals to me. Very interesting video
Carla, enjoyed this. Do you stop at differents ports on the cruise or where exactly did you spend the week as such. I've never been on one obviously. !!! Tammy is a ticket ... ❤❤
We stopped at four ports in the week - La Rochelle, Vigo, Bilbao and La Caruna .
♥️🛳️⚓️💕🫶🏻😘🥂
Good video, girls. I've never been on a cruise so it was all very interesting. Have a lovely day, ladies. xx
Do you have to pay extra for the food? Or is it included . I know you mentioned about the drinks but wasn’t sure on the food side ?
All food is included with the exception of the ‘speciality’ restaurants.
@@CarlaJenkins excellent ! Thanks for the info loved the video!
❤❤ xx
Great vlog ladies. We’ve done P & O, NCL and MSC. Favourite was NCL. I would never set foot upon another MSC boat as they like to cram you in and I do occasionally like to sit down! I follow Bob and Brad, their exercises are really good and might be useful for your leg circulation Carla, I have a massage gun and it gets well used! X
P and O your cases fit under the bed!
I'm a new subscriber, who could listen to your beautiful voice all day ! I'm busy watching all your old Vlogs. I just want to congratulate you on how much weight you've lost over the past few years. You are amazing, so pat yourself on the back for your success...You look great, and are on your way to even more amazing losses. Well done 👏👏
Im a loyal P and O cruiser, just did my 7th this time on Azura and filmed a what I wore everyday video for my new channel. Good to see this comparison, I’ve been wary of big American cruise ships ( I love Iona and Arvia). I always get refreshment soft drinks package on P and O as can order from any bar, always worth it. However got to admit I’m going on a taster MSC cruise soon and got alcohol package 😜. Already feel I’m going to prefer P and O 🥰
I went on the original P&O Oriana ..back in the 1960’s
You need to fly from Stornoway or Inverness they’re very friendly and it’s always enjoyable
I must be so out of date, I thought the meals came in with the price of your holiday . Don’t forget lots of Americans have a lot of money, so this cruise wants to part them of some of it
Meals do come as part of the package, but there are also ‘speciality’ restaurants on board where there is a surcharge.
Several friends love cruises, but I have never been on a cruise, so this was very interesting. Glad that the massage gun will help your knee, Carla.
