2K is a far superior product. You can play franchise w no microtransactions, you know. I’m in it for the gameplay, and I believe 2K would put a better on-the -field product than EA.
I just find it ironic how the NFL is all about experimenting and looking into the future as of late (e.g. kickoffs, guardian caps, streaming services, international games, etc.), but won't budge on who makes a video game after several years of criticism. "Madden is a top 10 game for the year, per weekly play time", but compared to who? You can't brag about domination when you have no competition.

We need 2k simply for the fact they will make A NFL myleague and MyGm style franchise. People sleep on 2ks offline modes and forget how in depth and rewarding it is the amount of customization in myleague is unreal! 2k has the best franchise experience out of any game and we need that for Madden bad.
2K's version of Franchise mode is good, but it's been the same for 10 years. They don't ever change anything with their NBA games. They have the same bad habits as EA when it comes to not really improving anything. Just tweaks here and there.

I had a damn apartment and had to use my agent in Madden 2006 for contracts in superstar mode. Insane how much is missing and tricking people into thinking its new when they add it back 😭

WWE 2k24 is good, it’s just died after a couple of months and no one plays it anymore
@@noobispro5697it started off good but after recent updates I've seen a couple glitches like the AI is terrible with setting up tables they'll pick up a table in either stand there for 10 minutes or throw it right back down on the ground I've also seen some trouble with created superstars because sometimes they'll either come out bald or with a different hair color entirely
I have always felt the decline of Madden came when they got the exclusive license. We need competition in the video game development market and its good for all parties and creates more jobs if such exclusive license agreements do not exist. I hope this does happen for the sake of the gaming community. We have a generation of young people that never experienced the option of being able to buy a none EA football game.

Bro 2k has been working on their “arcade game” since 2021. By next summer they’ll have been working on it for 4 years. Yall gotta ask yourselves why 2k hasn’t released it yet. In my opinion, the NFL told 2k to make a Sim game, they’ll see how it plays when 2026 rolls around, then they’ll give 2k a share in that license. That’s why 2k hasn’t dropped their “arcade game”. There’s no other reason. I bet you by next year, or summer 2027, we will have a sim 2k NFL game. The nfl market is HUGE and only getting bigger. There’s no WAY 2k gets a chance at eating off that plate, and says no. Especially when they KNOW that people miss their football product. 2k will be back in the next year or two. That’s also why EA took the risk of making the college football game. Cuz they KNOW 2k football is coming back. And that’s why Madden has changed so much the last 2 years. Gotta read the writing on the wall
i hope so , it is odd that their arcade game hasen't come out yet and why just make a arcade game that only about half the fan base might buy . what i find weird is that 2K said they were also come out with a "non sim" game so was that a low key way of saying that they are just waiting for the nfl license to be open and they are working on it right now
@@dmx1721 the writing is on the wall man. 2k is working on something they’re waiting to release. It’s no coincidence that it’s right around the time of the exclusivity agreements ending. I bet you the NFL lowkey told them to make their game, and the NFL would be open to it. There’s no way the NFL looks at the hate madden gets every year, sees how well 2k is handling the NBA, and goes nah we’ll stick with madden.
A lot of people say the NFL won’t offer the license because ea keeps making them money. That’s dumb. They’d make money off 2k too, and it’d open the market more so they could make MORE money than simply staying with EA only. It’s a no brainer.

What kills me is the belief that people would only buy 1 football game a year. If Madden is as good as they say it is, it wouldnt be effected by a new game on the market. People would buy both. Having the licenses exclusive makes no damn sense. The NFL is a huge market. They dont need EA. EA needs them. EA will still buy the license even if its not exclusive because it makes them so much money. I dont understand how they keep convincing NFL execs this false premise that the exclusive licenses benefits the NFL. In what way does it do that? They would have control of any studio that has the license as they do with EA. They make more money by selling more licenses. The same people buying Madden will buy the other games. Hell they already spend thousands on Ultimate Team. I think they can spare an extra $70 a year or whatever. And theyll have the untapped sales pool that they saw with CFB25 of people who are sick of Madden and want something different. It just blows my mind that this is still an issue 20 years later.

EA says in that article that theyre not scared of losing the license but to me them announcing and releasing CFB says otherwise. less than a year after 2k announced that deal with the NFLPA, EA announced that theyre bringing back college football. I know that deal definitely scared them to release another football game just in case 2K's game starts taking sales away from them. At this point all 2K has to do is release a football game with a deep team customization and the community will take care of the mods and putting in nfl teams. Football gamers are begging anyone to release a football game even if it doesnt have the license.

i played that game on the ps1 they also made a NCAA game , i herd that 989 studios is the one that makes MLB THE SHOW and i would love for them to make a nfl game i'm not a MLB fan but i looked some of the vids for their game and the presentation is what caught my attention first then gameplay

Back in the days of NFL QB club, Gameday, Madden, 2K, NCAA, Blitz, and NFL street ,we had great games every year, and EA was always the best. Without competition, they haven't had to inovate. It's just an MUT/CUT money grab nowadays.

It doesn't need to be exclusive at least not to EA sports that was the worst decision to NFL made since JaMarcus Russell...ea spors hasn't tried hard to make a good pro football game since 2005 ... 2K should be making all the sports games if you ask me... They try way harder than EA sports... That Monopoly just made them lazy.
Honestly, the NFL should rotate developers. That way each team has more time to make the game. Example, say the exclusive deal doesn’t exist, give the NFL license to EA for 26, then give 2K 27 then rotate. That means each company gets two years, instead of one, to get the new game out. I know it won’t happen, but imagine it did

I will never understand how they have 99% of face scans in NHL even when they’re rookies, but Madden doesn’t get around to as many. NHL has guys in random leagues around the world with face scans too. I just think it’d be a really cool thing if everyone had to get the face scan.

As an avid NHL player, I’m desperate for 2K to try to revive their NHL games to push EA. Unfortunately, EA doesn’t even have an exclusive license for the NHL, which means it’s not going to happen

Another factor is the MCS. EA is going to do all they can to keep this deal because that in a way is their biggest marketing tool.
My advice to all of the EA programmers who might be worried about losing their jobs is: learn to code.

I bought the madden/ncaa bundle and to this day I have still not played madden… now that I have college football back, I’m no longer interested in madden.
The sales stay high because it’s the only game. People forget that the last year of 2k in 2004 blew away madden. But because they didn’t have the money that madden had to fight for the rights. 2k was a better game, and if it could be upgraded with the players every year I’d still be playing 2k over Madden

Bru you obviously don’t play Myleague or MyGm. We need 2k to save franchise. NBA and NFL are different 2k won’t focus heavily on an online money building scenario. 2k has gameplay issues but they have the best offline modes of any sports game that also reward currency to use in online modes. We gotta stop hating on what 2k does great. Football needs them!
Tell me anything from madden in the past decade that competes with 2k? Other dude talked about myleague/franchise so I’ll talk about career mode, 2k allows you in mycareer to run around the arena before a game and do a multitude of things and with that (even though it’s not well liked) I think the City was a good idea for innovation. What has Madden done? Uhhhh can’t think of anything
Just because a company like 2K does not have the exclusive licensing doesn’t mean that they are not working on a professional football game right now they just can’t put the game out but nothing can stop them from actually making a game so in fact they do get the exclusive licensing or get permission to make a professional game I think they would be ready just look at what they’re doing NBA 2K so to put some of those movements in those engines into a football game wouldn’t be that far-fetched they would probably be for sure ready within a year or so

2K5 was the best game. We need the NFL to open the license up to other companies so that EA has some competition to produce a game worth the asking price. Back in the day we had Sega with the 2K series and Sonys 989 Studio's with NFL Game Day series.

If you compare the animations, optimization, responsiveness and general gameplay between modern Madden and NBA 2K, it’s night and day. I can’t think of anyone better qualified to deliver us from EA’s tyranny of sloppiness.

EA AND NFL will just resign an agreement. Nothing is going to change. The exclusivity has killed the Madden franchise from a creativity stand point. 2K series was a much better game in the day from AI logic, gameplay, awesome half-time and weekly shows. Madden has never came close to replicating anything like that.
For eeryone going oh 2K save us. I'm just going to point out the current 2K is not the same bunch of people from 2004. The gaming industry has changed, and 2K will likely stuff an NFL game full of microtransacations, and then ride the NFL's we are a luxury sports league up too a 100% dollar basic version and a 200 dollar MPV if they could get away with the latter one
