the problem with track by track reviews like this is that you ignore how the tracks come together as a whole. now that’s fine with most albums but for an album that’s meant to be consumed as a concept record, you ignore a vital part of its making. albums like this are more than the sum of their parts, so it’s pretty weird you don’t address the concept at all in this review
He didn’t talk about the concept at all, which is surprising given how much of a big deal it actually is. Eminem attempting a concept album in 2024 should be something that is met with a lot of attention, it was the main selling point of the album after all. But this guy brushes off everything and it’s clear as day it flew over his head because he misses such obvious stuff. Like Brand New Dance actually being an Encore song as confirmed in GC2, or the Slim voice being A.I, and why there are so many uncharacteristic edgy jokes about the disabled, fat and LGBTQ. The album’s storyline isn’t perfect and I agree with him on some stuff (namely Road Rage being bad) but it’s not exactly subtle as to what it’s trying to do. It’s a story about a man overcoming his past and killing what he once was so he can move on and grow. And this guy completely missed the point.

I don't think he's saying half as much as many of his fans think he is. I think bringing Slim Shady back in is a desperate attempt at relevance that's not the wholehearted comeback fans think it is. He's talking about saying stuff that would get him canceled all over this thing, but his edgy humor isn't anything more than dad puns you'd hear during a recess or PE in high school and he repeats the same points like the Caitlyn Jenner thing over and over where he seems more uninspired than anything
