Fairly surprised to see comments unwilling to move a 2025 1st up to the first overall pick Atlanta and Brooklyn won 36 and 32 games respectively this year. Neither team is “blowing it up”. The Hawks hit on a 3% chance to get the first pick. The Nets pick jumped up too Yes, they are almost certainly lottery picks next season but let’s not act like they’re guaranteed top 5 picks. Sarr would unequivocally go top 5-7 in next year’s class
Sheldon the Nets are probably going to blow things up. And in my opinion Atlanta is on their way there as well. I don't have a problem with Sarr in San Antonio..... But he/his agents seem to be hell bent on going to Washington. Let's say we do your trade to San Antonio. How certain are you if you are our GM that we would get a guarantee that he would come here and not only come here but be happy with the contract that he gets. We got long memories in this town and everybody in the organization remembers what happened with Kawhi Leonard. We are not going to have that kind of situation again. So if we make that trade we better be damn sure that he is going to follow through on it and he and his agents not be playing any games.
The lottery setup is crazy now. Tanking is not worth it anymore. Those odds are little, but it is more likely to have a team shoot up to the top three then not. And you’re not only giving up a 2025 pick you’re also giving up a 2024 pick in a flat draft, no one is an allstar level type player much less a generational type player in this draft. While 2025 has at least two generational players and probably 3 all star types. Trading even a small chance at those type players is a risk, something a GM could get fired over. I mean imagine being the GM that traded Cooper Flagg and Donovan Clingan for Alex Sarr. Not likely, but still a chance that could happen. Reed Shepherd and Cam Boozer for Sarr. Not worth the risk, that’s an automatic fireable offense and they would never hear the end of it.
If I was the Spurs I wouldn’t give back the Hawks pick next year. Reason number 1, with the Spurs own pick, the Hawks pick, and potentially even the Bulls pick if it’s outside the top 10 that’s 3 lottery first round picks in a deep draft class. Reason number 2 the way the rest of the league views the Hawks franchise at this point in time makes that pick more valuable than a player like Sarr or Risacher right now. Reason 3 having 2 guaranteed lottery picks potentially 3 makes moving up next year in a better draft class or getting a star player highly possible.
Spur will say NO if this trade includes Hawk's any future 1rd picks. Spur won't want Murray back, Trae ether. With No.4+8 picks is an already winner for this year's draft.
There have been rumors for weeks that Houston wants to trade that pick. If they find a trading partner you think that they can work with if I'm the other GM you're damn right I'm asking for that 2025 pick. So if Houston's GM is smart and he wants that deal he'll go ahead and roll it over
@@rolandmiller5456 You would actually trade Wemby and the fourth pick to get the Hawks first pick? Sorry, ain't happening. The Nets 2025 pick could easily be the first pick in the draft. I see the Nets landing around 5-8 before the lottery in a strong draft. Stone is not stupid and won't offer the Hawks the #3 pick this year and the #1 pick next year for Sarr. But maybe the Nets 2026 first round pick.
Every trade outside of the OKC one is an absolute win for the Hawks. There is not much reason to move up two or three spots for no.1 and giving up 2025 lottery pick. There can be an arguement made that top 10 pick next year has more value than no. 1 pick this year.
There’s just no way spurs give back ATL unprotected 1st to move up 3 spots. That conversation only opens up when they are talking trading 8 to 1. Realistically, I don’t think #1 gets traded
I agree. It ultimately comes down to if you really love Alex Sarr and want to jump Washington for him. I think the Spurs are the most compelling case because of the value of putting Sarr next to Wemby, the collection of picks they have AND still having pick 8 to draft a guard. Ultimately, I think ATL stays at 1 (or does the small trade with WAS).
I love your trade proposals. I’ve never thought of this trade scenario involving the rockets and the hawks. it looks enticing for both organizations. Boy You’re so intelligent. I hope the Rockets org and scouts are watching this video
People have been talking about it for weeks. Nevertheless, it might involve the Hawks taking Sarr and trading him to the Rockets for Clingan after they are sure Clingan falls to three.
In this draft with no one crazy great I think it’s better to have 2 picks in the top 8 like the spurs then trading for #1 the players picked at 4 and 8 will certainly be cumulatively better than who goes #1
I’d be ok with moving up, I’d try to keep that 25 pick due to how valuable next years draft class is, like 26’ or 27’ but adding Sarr is kinda hard to pass on if you’re Houston. We definitely need a rim protector, but we have Jabari who plays with Sengun. So it’s hard to say if that’s something we should do. Can’t wait for Wednesday
Spurs have already made it pretty clear that they aren't trading back that 25' Hawks pick and that just seems like a heavy overpay when forcing Hawks to pick Clingan at #1 helps their chances of landing Risacher who they really seem to like.

A Sengun, Sarr, SmithJr frontcourt sure sounds interesting, but I don't see the Rockets trading up for another frontcourt piece. Right now the Rockets frontcourt is packed with Sengun, Adams, SmithJr, Brooks, Eason, Whitmore (SF/SG), Thompson (PG/SG/SF). Rockets have made it clear that the objective this season is to make the playoffs, and I understand that Sarr is still a raw product that needs a couple of development seasons. Also, BKN's 2025 1st round pick has a really high value, with the possibility of it ranking in the top spots of a [supossedly] much better draft class. I'd say Rockets should just keep the pick and get either Sheppard or Clingan, or trade the pick to improve the starting SF position. However, I don't think that an attractive deal will be on the table (that is, a trade that does not include any of the 6 young pieces or an unreasonable number of draft picks). 2024-2025 Lineup: Van Vleet (PG), Green (SG), Brooks (SF), SmithJr (PF), Sengun (C) / Rotation: Thompson (PG/SG/SF), Whitmore (SG/SF), Eason (SF/PF), Jeff Green (SF/PF), Adams (C), and one of Sheppard (PG/SG) or Clingan (C). Looks like a pretty good roster to me. With development from the young players we should be able to make the playoffs. I think the Spurs trade is the most likely one to take place for the reasons that you presented. Wembanyama, Sarr, Sochan, Vassell, Trade-for PG (e.g. Garland). Probably won't make the playoffs in the loaded West this upcoming season, but it will definitely be a force in the following seasons.
Last year, the Rockets had Smith and Sengun at the big with Eason/Green filling in, but neither a true big. When Sengun went down, it exposed the Rockets lack of a backup at big. Sure this year they will have Adams for one more year. Eason can fill in. But a rotation of Smith, Sengun and Sarr at the big would be awesome and each would get around 32 minutes. That is a fifty + win team with Green, Cam and Brooks rotating at the wing. Eason filling in where needed. FVV at point. Just would need to sign a back up point guard until next draft. Maybe get Shead in the second round. This year, Adams is the back up as Sarr adjusts to the NBA. Maybe starts the year in the developmental league. Can trade Adams at the deadline if Sarr is ready.

@@UtilitySports problem is Houston isn't desparate for Sar. even if they draft him he's unlikely to crack their rotation this year. if Sar falls to them YES they will take him, but I don't see Houston giving up assets for a player who is unlkely to help them this year
@@UtilitySportsit’s not about Sarr. It’s about the chance to get a shot at Cooper Flagg next year. BKN is a bottom 10 team next year and if they move Mikal or he gets injured they are bottom 3. Not trading that unless it’s for a proven All-Star.
@@UtilitySportsI personally don't know Sheldon but I have a feeling in Atlanta is not going to be very good this year so the pick is worth keeping or trading for a nice prize.
@@UtilitySports ATL probably won't improve much, and if not, it could end up right back in the lottery. Spurs want maximum trade ammo for 2025 Draft + Free Agency. We'll see what all conveys amongst our Own/ATL/CHI/CHA picks next draft. Then either package assets to move up OR trade for a veteran/star...and really solidify this team for 2025-26 playoff push and beyond. That's been the evident Master Plan ever since landing Victor.
I see the rockets trading back in this draft, not up to #1. I can see a trade with Portland or Memphis for a 2024 1st and a 2025 1st. Next years draft looks way better. Personally I really like Kel'el Ware from Indiana as late lottery mid 1st pick.
I think Atlanta should trade the pick. If Sarr is consensus #1 and refuses to work out for them, what is the point? They can still get a solid prospect within the lottery that will compliment their current set up (hopefully). They need defense (to make up for Trey Young’s lack thereof) someone who can space the floor and a good rebounder. Investing in a new young Center if a good idea given Caplet’s age. I really don’t think Houston will trade up for this pick, though.
I agree. Works for both teams. The Rockets get a rotational big and the Hawks get their center of the future. Meanwhile Capela eventually becomes the backup or is traded.
Oklahoma City and San Antonio are the only two teams with enough draft capital to be able to make a deal like that in San Antonio would probably have to throw a player or two in there to do it. Oklahoma City wouldn't have to
Rishascher and Sarr are graded almost entirely on upside with almost nothing proven in competitive games. They will most likely be considered busts in 2-4 years. Sheppard has displayed his basketball savvy and will be a top five PG within 5 years.
I’m just thinking about the sheer size Houston could roll out in the future if they did trade up for Sarr. Amen, Cam, Bari, Sarr, & Sengun. That’s scary. It may be worth it. You never know what BKN will do since they don’t own their picks. They may make a splash & that would hurt that 2025 pick significantly. Idk if I’d wanna bank on that!
I am getting cold on Sarr particularly with Flagg and Boozer as much more versatile PFs for the Spurs in the next 2 drafts. If they go for pick 1, I would rather see them go for Riscarche. That being said I think Shepphard and Carter, trade for a pick in the teens grab Durisic, and then go for two of Filipowski, Scheierman, or Mitchell helps them get better than going for Sarr. The Spurs also don't have the 3pt shooting volume that the Timberwolves have to offset Rudy's offensive limitations.
If I'm the Spurs, I start with a package of #4, Branham or Wesley, and offer the 2026 FR pick swap back to them, or MAYBE return their 2027 pick if needed (unlikely). Conditional trade for ATL if Clingan is available @ 4, assuming he is their target. Bc there is no way we're giving that '25 pick back. Spurs would take ZR #1.
The problem with that is is if we get another big who do we get at guard. The other question is is Sarr willing to come to San Antonio.... If they do and he does it's going to be really interesting.
I have been talking about the Rockets trading up with the Hawks for weeks. Makes the most sense. But not with next year's Nets first round pick that could end up being #1 overall. Next year is going to suck for the Nets. They have one more year of Simmons contract and no picks this year. So they really are not going to improve while most teams will. Spurs and Grizzlies should move ahead of them in the standing. Probably the Jazz too. They could be 5-8 next year. Then comes the lottery and boom, Rockets hold their number one pick in a pick swap. Sarr should be the Rockets target. He can play both PF and Center and would form the best three man rotation at the big with Smith and Sengun. The Rockets should offer the Nets 2026 pick to move up from #3 to #1. Works for the Hawks as they land Clingan or Risacher and pick up lottery pick in 2026. I also see the Spurs trading up with the Wiz for Risacher. So the picks would go #1 Rockets - Sarr. #2 Spurs - Risacher. #3 - Hawks.
If I'm confident in my ability to pick talent I might trade out of #1 for two picks later in the draft. Since everyone is roughly equal - - two players almost as good as Sarr is better than Sarr by himself. Would Knecht and Holmes == Sarr? Probably not.... but it might be interesting to go back and ask this question in 5 years.
If I'm Atlanta, I keep the pick and draft Sarr. You know Washington will select Sarr if you don't, so that's telling you he's more valuable, beyond the fact that Sarr has way more upside, and a switchable big is more of an asset than someone who has to be in drop all the time. You don't get a chance at the number 1 pick often, so use it. 1st pick has only been traded twice in 31 years, and 1 of the 2 was Andrew Wiggins and that happened far after the draft in the Kevin Love trade. Doesn't matter if Sarr wants to be there or not.
I think Atlanta should trade the pick, no single rookie from this draft will elevate them to being a contender, but getting 2 cheap and useful roleplayers will do wonders
2:12 - trade the pick Is this Too much? Not Enough? Hawks get - #4, #8, One of San Antonio's 2025 FRPs Devonte Graham Spurs get - #1, Dejounte Murray De'Andre Hunter
I'd rather okc trade up a couple spots and have the Williams brothers, both of them can play in the nba and the other sarr hasn't been getting minutes in okc. He's the thanasis of the sarre brothers where I think Cody Williams addresses the need at pf and you still get brothers
If the Spurs give Atlanta back their own 2025 pick, it also de-values their 2026 pick swap and 2027 unprotected pick from Atlanta. The Spurs should have zero incentive to trade with Atlanta, and instead have a trade with Washington in place, contingent upon who Atlanta picks first. The Wizards need draft capital and players.
Atlanta don't fall for all the hype. Keep the pick even if he doesn't want to play here if you draft him he would have to prove himself to the NBA that he can play. He is young and doesn't know this opportunity doesn't happen to anyone And playing with the Hawks. Is a good thing.
I think the Atlanta Hawks should see if they can remain in the top 4 by trading down with the Spurs and getting back their 2025 pick. This will allow the Spurs to receive Risacher and Clingan will possibly be available if the rockets don’t pick Clingan who I don’t think they will. In the situation where the spurs don’t want to do that I just pick Sarr. I’m not sure how much time The Hawks scouts spent with him but he was in OTE so I’m sure it may be a bit of familiarity.
If I am the Rockets, I am taking Clingan at #3 just for future trade capital. Look at the haul the Jazz received for Gobert. Rocket will draft either Sarr, Clingan or Risacher if they don't trade, which I think they will.
I thn alanta should keep the pick and draft sarr anyway get rid of 1 of your guards and ur big 3 is 1. trae/murray 2. Jalen Johnson 3. Alex Sarr Its not championship contending but its a foundation
You must like visiting Vegas. Rockets will have a better chance of landing #1 than the Pistons. They hold swap rights with the Nets who don't have any draft picks this year.
Penguin's injury exposed the Rockets weakness at Big. Sarr is the perfect player that can back up both Sengun and Smith. Adams only has one year left on his contract.

Noway, SAS give back the 1st round pick 2025. It have more valu, than the 3 first pucks of this year.
What pick do you think that 2025 first becomes?
@@UtilitySportsI personally don't know Sheldon but I have a feeling in Atlanta is not going to be very good this year so the pick is worth keeping or trading for a nice prize.
Any lottery pick in next year is more valuable then Sarr
@@UtilitySports ATL probably won't improve much, and if not, it could end up right back in the lottery. Spurs want maximum trade ammo for 2025 Draft + Free Agency.
We'll see what all conveys amongst our Own/ATL/CHI/CHA picks next draft. Then either package assets to move up OR trade for a veteran/star...and really solidify this team for 2025-26 playoff push and beyond.
That's been the evident Master Plan ever since landing Victor.
@@UtilitySports there is plenty. Flaag, Traore…
There is a lot of higher prospect next year.
TBH Sar fits OKC very well. If OKC you give them pick 12 and 3 additional future 1st then i think that is fair.
I see the rockets trading back in this draft, not up to #1. I can see a trade with Portland or Memphis for a 2024 1st and a 2025 1st. Next years draft looks way better. Personally I really like Kel'el Ware from Indiana as late lottery mid 1st pick.
I think ATL should stay in the top 3-4 if they do trade. Shouldn’t not move outside top 4 100% in my eyes
I think OKC is probably the most likely to offer to trade for #1 with the Hawks that the Hawks would take.
Oklahoma City and San Antonio are the only two teams with enough draft capital to be able to make a deal like that in San Antonio would probably have to throw a player or two in there to do it.
Oklahoma City wouldn't have to
As spurs fan, i would give atlanta their 2025 1st, 20271st, 2024 8th pick, 2 second round picks and zach collins for 2024 1st and tray young.
I would try to trade back if in Atlanta and get Reed Sheppard instead of Risascher and Sarr

Do you like at #1.8 for PG Devin Carter 6'3 195 Providence 42" vertical? The Spurs!
@@guadalupechavarria1227 100%
The problem with that is is if we get another big who do we get at guard. The other question is is Sarr willing to come to San Antonio.... If they do and he does it's going to be really interesting.
The only reason I'd give back ATL '25 FRP is for jalen johnson.
I want the extra picks in 25 if I’m the Spurs. Maybe even get rid of one or both if this year’s for a starter and a first rounder next year
I also dont think Houston will take Sarr if they trade up. I think they trade up to take Risacher if they make the trade.
Possible. But Sarr is the perfect fit as a big. But yeah, the Rockets need a good SF and Risacher brings shooting, size, defense, etc.
Damn that was mean man 😭 putting pistons in the thumbnail just to click bait me.
I think we should keep the pick. Draft Sarr or Clinigan
No way in hell spurs do that.
I think Atlanta should trade the pick, no single rookie from this draft will elevate them to being a contender, but getting 2 cheap and useful roleplayers will do wonders
2:12 - trade the pick
Is this Too much? Not Enough?
Hawks get -
#4,
#8,
One of San Antonio's 2025 FRPs
Devonte Graham
Spurs get -
#1,
Dejounte Murray
De'Andre Hunter
As light as this class is, unless I needed one of the top bigs, I'd b trading back & stacking picks
I think Atlanta should trade the pick. Unfortunately I don't think they will have a market for the first pick. It's not like the fultz Tatum draft
I think Atlanta should trade the pick, but take Sarr or Clingan if not
I think Atlanta should try to trade down to #4, IF the return is at least 2025
As a Hawks fan, I'd prefer to draft Sarr. If not, then we should trade the pick
Atlanta ain’t getting that 2025 pick from the spurs back unless they packaging Trey or dejounte in the trade
So why not play the Wizards desires against San Antonio?
Having the first pick doesn’t come often. So just keep it and draft the best player that fits your needs.
Why not trade it and pickup a future first and still get your guy.
I'd keep the pick and choose Sarr!!!
Sheldon that Oklahoma City trade makes too much sense. Oklahoma City has got more picks than anyone and this is a thing they would think about IMHO.
I think Atlanta should choose Risacher because I am a Wizards fan
As a thunder fan I’d be happy with that trade
I’d keep the pick and probably take Sarr.
But who would watch Atlanta play in 2024-25
Atlanta don't fall for all the hype. Keep the pick even if he doesn't want to play here if you draft him he would have to prove himself to the NBA that he can play. He is young and doesn't know this opportunity doesn't happen to anyone
And playing with the Hawks. Is a good thing.
Trade down as much as pissible to gain back some future assets
There’s nobody in this draft worthy enough for the Spurs to give up ATL’s ‘25 FRP
Please please please get rid of that elevator music.
Presti will fleece atl for the 1st pick all 2nd round picks we got
keep it for risacher, unless they want clingan, then trade it.
Sarr wouldn’t go top 5 in 2025. Those 2025 picks are too valuable.
Are you sure those picks are going to be top 5?
@@UtilitySports Are you sure they are not? Rockets could end up with the first pick in the draft next year as the Nets will be 5-8 in the lottery.
I think ATL should keep the pick
Hawks arent moving down 11 spots.. Theyre having a draft party.. lol
🫡My Wizards are sitting back watching and chilling 🥤
I thn alanta should keep the pick and draft sarr anyway get rid of 1 of your guards and ur big 3 is
1. trae/murray
2. Jalen Johnson
3. Alex Sarr
Its not championship contending but its a foundation
I like this taught
Atl should.. keep the pick... they aren't going to get true value trading it
no team gona trade FRP from 2025
Spurs about to go nuclear 🔥
Atlanta will draft SARR
Pistons getting Cooper Flag next year. We not even worried bout this draft.
You must like visiting Vegas. Rockets will have a better chance of landing #1 than the Pistons. They hold swap rights with the Nets who don't have any draft picks this year.
Trade the pick
Keep the damn pick fool STARR
⚡⚡
Spurs trade makes so much sense
Keep
Trade the pick to Houston
If Stone did that trade he should be fired
Penguin's injury exposed the Rockets weakness at Big. Sarr is the perfect player that can back up both Sengun and Smith. Adams only has one year left on his contract.
@@greglyon1402 you dont draft a future backup at pick 3. if sarr is the pick then sengun or jabari has to be dealt.
Please do this Houston
Rockets aren''t giving up the Nets 2025 pick. Could be #1.

Sarr is a bumm...
