- An "allegory of a man's life falling apart", or so they say. Since I don't play the flute and don't think a MIDI flute sample would do this song justice, I decided to do a keyboard solo instead. Hope you like it.
If you want to know how the piano part is played, check out my tutorial here: • LOCOMOTIVE BREATH pian...
Train footage produced by PaulD- downloaded from the Internet Archive at archive.org/det...
RUclips's loaded with cheesy covers of this song, but this one's a winner. Excellent job.
This is my favorite Tull song, and my nomination for the best rock song of all time! Good cover.
Thanks Steve
the piano solo is very interesting. well done sir, well done.
The keyboard solo ROCKS!
This is fucking GREAT. I love the flute solo of this song. I bought my transversal flute because of Jethro Tull and this song. You're great, fucking great. This song's powerful, not easy to cover the cover the vocals either.
Thanks Lily
The piano solo gave the whole song a new dimension! Pretty sure Ian Anderson would love it!
Oh man it just keeps getting better.
Can't recall anyone trying to cover this unique Tull effort. But you've nailed it. I love the piano interpretation and the bass. Really well done.
Thanks rod
Simply amazing! Great voice too, thanks!
I'm now in the habit of watching this vid on a regular basis. Today I noticed the shadows on the wall (at 2:20) caused by the shadows of the leaves outside in the wind. Lots to like here ... the train footage at 2:40, followed by the great energetic piano riffs beginning at 2:56. Will be checking out the rest of your stuff soon, thanks again!
Just got to know your channel, and just got addicted to your videos!
Full proffesionalism !!!
Excellent performance !
The vocals are spot on. Hell, everything is spot on. Glad you didn't incorporate the flute too. Haha the guitar work is very David Gilmour-esque. Great cover!
thanks!
What Jeremy said! It's a pleasure to hear this, mate.
Cheers from Melbourne.
anyone that even attempts the vocals on this song is very brave indeed, ok, you nailed it ,awesome job, in fact the entire band stayed true to the essence of this song, great job guys,
Great voice also; making Jethro Tull proud!
That's it! I gotta subscribe to your channel. I'm totally blown away!
+warpspeed1988 thank you!
Great rendition. Missing the flute but the piano was good. Your vocals on this are amazing!
Will learn the flute one day! First I have to get my hands on one.
@@FridayNightLullaby i.. well. the piano part instead of flute part is, well, almost the flute solo!! :) (: :)
What fun! Great work all around. Very impressive.
Woe JIM!!! You freaked me right out with this! Bravo, my friend, it was truly EXCELLENT!!!! :)
Good, very good!!!!!
Absolutely brilliant! Your broad talents, including the singing, is amazing!
Thanks!- stay tuned in next week or 2 for another one from that album.
I cannot wait! What do you have in mind, if I may ask?
Brilliant, love it!
that was a frigging excellent cover
AWESOME!!!!! Love the keyboard solo! Will watch this over and over til I can play like you. At least that's my hope!
I'm gonna try it also. The solo will be the hardest part.
You, sir, are brilliant!
That is my thought too. :)
You really came close to sounding like Ian Anderson.
thank you- appreciate it!
congratulations, great job, really good....
Outstanding!
Thanks!
Great job! Awesome vocals as well
Thanks!
Well done - the piano fill where Ian's flute would be worked very well. Proper job!
Really fantastic job!

+MITCH Weingart Thanks Mitch- check out the tutorial I made for the piano intro, I think the link is in the video caption.
Superb! Again. Thank you for sharing.
Very impressive. Keyboards are fantastic. Best cover of this period!
Thanks Jeff
Nice. Great piano work!
Absolutely love this and, since your voice sounds so much like Ian Anderson's, the piano solo was a brilliant choice on so many levels.
Thank you!
Nicely done!

Such a great channel, so inspiring...

Comme d'habitude Superbe Merci Thanks for posting!!!
Enjoyed this alot ...WOW! Nice work on a Tull classic!

Although the flute is irreplaceable,The keyboard solo kicked ass and was the best it couldve been. Thumbs up!
very awesome cover loved it!!!!!!!
Your a musical monster lol!
Very well done
Really nice!
Thanks!
Very well done gentlemen. I'm a beginning pianist whose sight reading skills are also infantile but I was hoping to learn this intro. The slowed down version should be a big help. It will be an incredible journey. Much thanks.
Thanks Ernie!
You're pretty good, the only modern rendition I've heard that matches the original well. Keep it up.
thank you- sure will
AMAZING!
Great job!!
Thank you!
Amazing

Top Notch Man! None better!

Simply no replacement for the flute in Tull's music but everything else was really good.
Yes have to try to learn one day
Couldnt be better at all!
Thank you!
nicely done sir....didn't you play drums for Last Licks
can we get the piano sheets somewhere for private use .... thanks
Don't have them anymore but check out the tutorial video I made - link in the description.
🤘
\m/ \m/
Who's in there?
Do you have the sheets for it? Cause there are some parts which sound different than when I play
No but there is a tutorial video- it's linked in the description
is possible to have the piano score of the intro?
+Filippo Bianchi I'm trying to set up a website with tutorials- if I can locate my handwritten notes I'll try to post, they must be around somewhere.
+FridayNightLullaby Very good
can you send the intro piano part to me via email? I need to play it for a gig in November
btw, you are awesome on keys!!!
Is there no END to your brilliance? Why don't you make a record/CD? or start a Cover Band? I have never heard or seen anything like this. Ever.
0.0 wow..
thanks
@ 2:57 to 3:28 :)
sounds great man! be careful tho... that muted guitar is out of tune on some parts
Sad that the bass sound disturbs everything.
Go back to sleep.
I like !
