I couldn't help but feel like it's the perfection of a style of platformer that has been slowly developing over decades. Super Meat Boy comes to mind as a predecessor. Nothing will ever be another Celeste
I've gotten into casual speedrunning of celeste last year during my livestreams. Got to do Core% for charity in december and finished 1:30:00 after only a month of training. Really hyped to keep training and getting faster. Events like this, and runs like these inspire me. This is a great mod, a great couch and definitely a great speedrunner. Cheers to all of you!
Incredible run! An extra fun thing about this is that I was able to understand pretty much all the tricks, because playing through the compilation has been teaching them to me as I've gone along. I'm getting toward the end of Advanced now, but this is tempting me to revisit some of the Beginner levels again.
This was an amazing run! I only started playing Celeste a year ago and started Strawberry Jam a month ago! I’ve somehow made it to the advanced lobby and am incredibly proud of myself! Everyone who worked on this collab did an amazing job!
After watching Talia skip the entire second half of over the city I finally got the motivation to get the rainbow berry for the lobby by using the skip. Best video ever 10/10

After giving up with Celeste at 3A of the main game, the release of Strawberry Jam is what gave me the motivation to pick up the game again and play this amazing beginner lobby. Thanks to all the devs and modders for making such an awesome game and levels to play and I hope to be better soon
theres 5 lobbies in ascending difficulty: beginner, intermediate, advanced, expert, and grandmaster with gm having some of the hardest modded maps you can find
So based on the mod that sorta standardized the 5 difficulties assigned to levels, spring collab 2020, the hardest level in non-modded Celeste, Farewell, is intermediate difficulty with one or two rooms that could maybe be considered advanced.
For some added context, it took me about 200 hours of grinding to 202/202 the base game. I've put about that into sc2020 gm lobby and am not done clearing levels once.
I should add that playing Strawberry Jam has pretty much doubled my skill level in Celeste. The gyms in each lobby that teach you all the required tech helped A LOT. I never would've expected to be able to pull off the tricks and movement tech that is required in advanced and higher levels. I've beaten about half the levels in the game, plateau-ing in my skill level at the yellow levels in the advanced lobby.
If you look up Celeste Endgame Contest and find a video that showcases the lobby there, you can see a super well-structured grandmaster style lobby that requires a pretty high skill check just to make it to the levels! (It’s also super cool and well designed)
I hope more of this collab and more of modded Celeste has a chance to be showcased at GDQ. The amount and quality of content that the modding community have released over the years is unbelievable.
Huge shoutout to the training rooms in this mod. They were a huge help to me for Chapter 9 of the base game (and for Internediate lobby of the mid). Would 100000% recommend playing this mod even if you’re not a speedrunner! ❤

Celeste was the first game I ever just didn't finish because it was too hard (and my pride couldn't handle using assist mode lol). As insane as this looks, anyone who has played this knows it must be 10x harder than it looks.
Love Celeste, love this Mod, love the run. In fact, it made me reinstall it and downloading the mod myself! But how can people watch this whole run with the Screen Tearing going on? I don't even see ppl mentioning it. Its unwatchable!
It's not unbearable for me but it was pretty bad, it was especially noticeable in a few levels. Haven't watched a lot of this year's AGDQ so I hope it wasn't something recurrent :(
certain strats in the run have a very small window to perform them (on the order of a 1/60 second window to perform them) so to make them easier to perform runners sometimes use pause buffering. when you pause and unpause the game, you can press the button a few frames before the game actually resumes, allowing you to step the game frame by frame and consistently perform inputs that would otherwise be very precise.
