    I generally keep the battery gauge on percentage, as that makes more sense. The mileage shown there by default is not actual usage. I use the energy graph that gives you an estimate based on your current usage. I wish they would just change that value with the battery gauge to use the value from the energy graph.

    Driving range: Same on gas cars, you cannot trust the miles available, either. It depends on your driving conditions, style.

    I don't own a Tesla but I did drive one (Model S) for a few weeks. There was a lot I liked. Just to name a few ... the speed, regenerative braking, 100% electric and a bunch of other features. What I didn't like the most about the car is ... I'm afraid they are rushing to put these together so it shows with a few manufacturing flaws. Not horrible just that it could be better with the amount of money being spent. One thing with the car I drove ... it made a lot of creaking noises which sounded like some things were loose. I've heard many other stories. I didn't like the HORN at all. The size and position of the button is actually kind of ridiculous. It's a very tiny button on the steering wheel. If you need it in an emergency, most likely you won't find it in time or simply miss it entirely. That needs to change. As for the autopilot ... it's very nice but I found myself not using it much (just on the highway). I definitely would not spend the extra $10,000 for the upgrade (unless I had money to throw away). In conclusion ... I really liked it but I may wait a few more years to buy one.

    Hey thanks for posting your video. I'm ready to but my Tesla Y and I'll leaving towards the P over LR. Do you know if Tesla will give you the P but at request downgrade the 21 to 20 in? Also your issue with incorrect range, could that be due to you changing the size of the tire?

  • @fred_harmon
    @fred_harmon 3 года назад +4

    The driving range is something that was puzzling to me until I realized I was driving too fast. :-) Once I started driving 70-75 on the highway versus 80 or higher, it was more predictable.

    I've heard a couple of stories about MY's phantom braking problem. One of my friends faced this issue quite frequently and when Tesla refused to admit it, he sold his car. have you ever experienced this?

  • @stillak

    Use percentage for battery display and navigation estimates instead. When you route to a destination, the arrival range estimate is quite accurate based on standard driving in my experience. It takes into account elevation as well.

    Hey Cody, Thanks for your videos! I'm thinking about getting a Y Long Range and wonder whether or not you've had any issues with the all glass roof. I live in Arizona and almost always drive my X3 with the slide cover closed to keep the sun out of the car. Do you wish you had that capability? Thoughts?

    • @CodySteckRealEstateVideos
      @CodySteckRealEstateVideos  2 года назад +2

      That’s a great question, I think if I lived in Arizona I’d probably wish I had that option, but the tent that comes standard on the all glass roof is actually really good. I tinted the windshield and front windows As well, and that makes a huge difference when the sun is blaring down on the car. I think it’s worth considering, but I don’t know if it would necessarily be a dealbreaker. At least for me.

    Hey buddy, did you notice better acceleration with the 20s? And did you go with the the mild or moderate option for the springs? And lastly were there any camber issuer after lowering? Thanks

    • @CodySteckRealEstateVideos
      @CodySteckRealEstateVideos  2 года назад +1

      Moderate option for the springs. You always get a slight camber adjustment when lowering, but it hardly noticeable in my opinion. I didn’t notice any difference in acceleration. Probably slightly less if anything due to smaller and different tires

    I thought I recognized those mountains in the background. Yeah, no all-weather or no snow tires is an issue here in Utah. Funny thing is, I've seen more Tesla's in Utah Valley than I have ANYWHERE else. The nice thing about that is, there are lots of charging stations in the area.
    I'm still not sold on a Tesla for my next car. But, I really apricate your videos. I'm starting do my homework on what's available and the pros and cons. You've done well at pointing out the cons as well as the pros instead of being a Tesla cheerleader.
    So, Cody, do you have any recommendations on solar panels? I'm actually leaning towards Tesla for the custom house I'm having built. But, if you have experience on that, I'd love to hear it.

  • @woodyalexander6
    @woodyalexander6 6 месяцев назад

    Ummm no… model y does not get 2.9 seconds to 60mph. The performance model y is only 3.5 seconds for 0 to 60… in peak conditions. Model y long range is 4.8 seconds, with the boost it’s 4.3. The standard range or real wheel is only 6.6 seconds.

    Your all-season tires are probably reducing the range

  • @movesmatter4514
    @movesmatter4514 3 года назад

    You name off facts this entire video and almost all of them are wrong. Your car doesn’t lose range in cold weather more “just from driving” it losing range from the heater taking more energy and heated seats if you use them, your batteries don’t make a sound so that’s not what you’re hearing when accelerating, and your car doesn’t go 0-60 in 2.9 it’s more like 3.8 to 4 seconds depending on the battery’s % of charge.

    • @CodySteckRealEstateVideos
      @CodySteckRealEstateVideos  3 года назад

      I disagree. It is widely known that all batteries drain faster in colder weather. You are correct on the 0-60 though, I misspoke!

    • @movesmatter4514
      @movesmatter4514 3 года назад +1

      @@CodySteckRealEstateVideos Batteries do not drain faster in cold temperatures. This myth come from the use of lead acid batteries in normal ICE cars and their loss of efficiency in colder weather. Lithium batteries do not suffer from this same loss of efficiency in colder conditions. It’s only after the temperature has reached below 0C that the lithium Ion batteries suffer from a capacity loss. So what you perceive as “faster drain” is actually just a lower state of charge.
      TLDR: Cold weather makes the batteries hold less juice making it seem like faster drain.
