Full disclosure - I usually don’t usually have strong takes except I had been screaming into my empty bag of Doritos for at least two years before the Ravens drafted Lamar that the team needed to move off of Joe. I bring that up because this interview shows why Harbaugh is so good at managing media/ fans whatever and why he’s such a good HC (I also think the ravens have had good GMs and ownership- it’s well run). These last few years with Joe when he just wasn’t good, Harbaugh never criticized him publicly. At the podium, never pointed fingers. I know it’s the right way to coach but as a fan, frustrating. I remember those weeks when Joe was supposedly “injured” in 2018 (and the injury was suspicious because people like me were saying play Lamar - like I’m listened to, lol) and Harbaugh relentlessly say it was just an injury - neck, if I remember- and to hear from the beginning Harbaugh tell the team he’s making the switch of QB reassures me that he made the switch earlier. (It looks like he lied to the media and fans and that’s fan - a lot of fans are morons that still wanted Joe to play; just win games and they’ll shut up). My own take on Harbaugh on the hot seat is that ownership/ GM wanted this QB change too but it is of course the Head Coach’s decision but he was being told that unless he made the right decision it could be his job. (Btw, if the ravens ever fired Harbaugh - then or now- I think he could easily find another gig quickly although I think he likes it here.). John Harbaugh is loyal sometimes to a flaw and he keeps coordinators a little longer than most would and a starting QB that had won him a Super Bowl 5 years before as well. But once he switched on that he was all in on Lamar Jackson and has been his most vocal advocate since. People who don’t get why he’s been HC for as long as he has mostly don’t know what they’re talking about.
