Halo can't even save Halo
I clicked on the video literally just to comment this.
@m0urn1ng5tar5 well I hope you liked the video too! Haha, thanks for being here 😀
Haha had the same thought
You mean 343.
Halo is so dead not even bungie could probably revive it
Man, I’d do anything for a new classic Halo game (or remake) with no sprint or any modern mechanics. Just as it always was
i respectfully disagree. Those features are what brought me back to halo after years of not playing. I saw what 343 did to Halo as a natural evolution of the franchise.
@@eternalwonderofficial we have different opinions, which is fine. I’m not against sprint in a big mode such as Battle Royale. But when it comes to campaign/arena, classic Halo feels much more fun and natural to me
@ That's fair enough.
Short answer. No.
The studio refuses to listen to their community. They treat their community like trash. They Hate you, and they Hate Halo.
With all due respect to you, you are wrong. I work with many of them often (unpaid) and I can tell you they all LOVE Halo. At least the ones I've talked to. I truly believe the engine was the problem among leadership issues that were fixed.
@ActiveOnHalo I can't help but feel that current leadership still does not care. They refused to help the digsite team with updates to MCC to allow cut content and certain features to work. They didn't see their work as 'real' work. It's been nothing but Forge maps made by community members when it comes to content updates. Otherwise it's just cosmetics for the shop. They have the right to deny such requests, but the fact that they didn't want to let Secret Level have a Halo episode is a real bad move. So the game just gets practically no PR. I can't in good faith sit down and play Infinite when the gameplay has been catered far too much to high octane fast paced competitive play where we lost features like physics based objects in maps. Vehicle maps are less open, and restrict you to a lane. Vehicles in general are made of paper. Players that were reporting latency/ netcode issues with MCC saw their complaints being mocked, and laughed at for having "skill issue". They let some film studio make that abomination of a TV series where so little care was put into it, the entire purpose was to jump on the Mandalorian hype train. Their leadership style is not leaving room for any creative freedom that could push the series to evolve. They are out of ideas, and instead decide to leave us on some nonsense cliffhanger with Atriox. So back to square one on remaking CE, and possibly completely rewriting it ruining what had already been laid out. I can't trust them. They've delivered nothing but disappointment to me. I'm upset because they don't show the same amount of passion and care that Bungie did. Same is said for the other studios out there. It's all corporate now, little to no soul left in these industry giants anymore.
@@ActiveOnHaloThat’s good to hear. I love combat evolved’s campaign so much and play it still constantly.
I’ve seen what modders can do with it (like Ruby), but it requires attention to detail. They can’t just have a million copy and pasted save the marines missions, art that’s so detailed it’s hard to look at, 1 biome that’s copy and pasted, and a boring story for angsty teenagers.
It’s ambition and trend chasing that will be their downfall. If a smaller studio had the property- one not concerned with meeting AAA expectations of fidelity, not concerned with trends or if they’ll be liked, and dedicated to sticking close to the source material- then we’d have a masterpiece.
With the right vision halo studios could make a masterpiece better than the classics in every way. Please… we need it. You’re so close halo.
Honestly, love your videos. Always on point and no empty talk.
I think we can all agree arena shooter genre is more demanding than others. Here's hoping next halo makes a worldwide comeback.
Really appreciate the kind words! I'll try and continue to make them better over time! This one I think I could have talked about what Halo needs in the next game but I'm just going to make that a separate video!
I really hope the next Halo is fulfilling, I think we that have been patient deserve it!
If it were being made by another company and not just 343 rebranded then sure but that's unfortunately not the case
The quick answer is … YES … why ? It’s Never too late for Halo and if anyone says otherwise just talking crap for clout
Maybe it’s nostalgia but I love Halo and I love arena shooters
Doom is alive and well, maybe its just multiplayer. But like tou mentioned for pvp you need content that continuously introduces new gameplay/new meta whether that be sandbox alterations or setting changes. I also feel a lot off people dont want to sweat it out but just have some quick fun. I think a more pve styled experience could help reach that as you can tailer the AI to be as good or bad as you want.
Which brings me back to campaign experiences like doom. Or maybe something like strikes /raids from destiny. To transition that laid back gaming style back into a multiplayer.
Halo is such a cool place for the arena shooter DNA to rest. It made so many changes to the gameplay loop that it's barely like any other arena shooter, rechargeable shields, slowed down player movement, etc. But all those changes were a direct answer to the core problems that arena shooters had, so it's literally a genre "evolved". I think if we engineer gameplay like this, we can really bring any formula or genre back from the dead.
Really well said. Thanks for watching!!
Halo has had the last 15 years to save Arena Shooters. 343 industriest, more importantly MICROSOFT, have kept it from happening. Every day more and more is revealed about how BROKEN 343 industries is. It is gut wrenching. The final blow is microsofts new contractor hiring system which I believe is the final nail in the coffin for Halo
Nice video I'll follow. I miss the good old days of Halo and slower strategic gameplay. 😂
My only problem with the HALO title is the fact the devs completely changed the game’s tone and personality.
In halo infinite’s multiplayer trailer, they showed an adult civilian female get saved by Spartans. Then all of a sudden that civilian turned out to become a Spartan. Made no sense, Spartan 4’s were selected based off their military records. So how does a black female civilian turn into a Spartan? Oh wait, cause they needed a black female to represent the Spartans.
Great content! 🔥
My biggest worry is that they’ll focus to much on the visuals and they’ll end up looking muddy and over the top. With that showcase video it makes me concerned. Arena shooters have to have intuitive maps not ones where you’ll get information overload from looking at foliage.
But… they’re on the right track with biome development and a classic art style. They’re so close to greatness- just don’t lose track that gameplay should be above all.
I think arena shooters can still exist as long as the game has solid gameplay
The ideas that Halo Studios could do is endless 😍
100%. They can do so much with this franchise!
AFPS is the best genre. Miss it so much :(
As do I.. as do I 😞
@@ActiveOnHalo nice video btw. I really had hope for Diabotical... the 200th attempt to revive AFPS, but that to failed so badly.
@DaaxPlays thank you and yes it did, it was fun too, just not enough content
If HS does good on the CE remake, hits the ground running and releases a top-quality feature finished product with Halo 7 as a sequel to Infinite, absolutely
I'm cautiously optimistic tbh. Infinite was a step in the right direction as far as story and gameplay go. I just hope they don't do the "live service without the service" business model again. They botched live service SO hard.
also; really nice video man :) subbed!
Better question is if Halo can save Halo.
I’ve moved on to the FGC. Still has that grass roots feel that MLG had. Street Fighter 6 and Tekken 8.
I think a battle royale mode could be fun.. Imagine you get set on a miniature Halo ring and it breaks open at one place. Then instead of having the classic circle/storm like pubg/Fortnite, the crack in the ring keeps growing and thus reducing the play zone and creating high intensity combat situations. How cool would that be?
And add small objectives like the enhanced enemy camps in Infinite, where if you clear them you get their weapon for example. I think BR could fit really well if done properly, but then again it`s 343, just in a new coat. I have kind of given up on the franchise, although I keep being carefully hopeful for the future. Sad
I would not get my hopes up at all for whatever 343/halo studios does. Just look at the skybox, the CE remake will likely not be faithful. If halo really wants a larger audience they simply need to bring back the higher ttk or do a high ttk for an odst multiplayer project. I do agree creating a unique arena mode would help. Maybe they will even go a different direction with a battlefront style mode, extraction, or improved firefight.
Before I answer, I wish you would have said that the number of players was steam only.
I meet more xbox players than PC players.
I did some research a while back and found there are way more xbox players on Infinite than PC players. I also found out that most people play more social playlist than ranked.
Now, currently, Halo tracker is tracking 50,000 Halo accounts. If we account for smurfs... that's probably about 35,000 ranked players.
So to conclude, I think if Halo Studios delivers us a Halo game...
We will see a return to form.
Now the biggest question is:
What makes Halo, Halo?
Really good point, that WAS steam only. Apologize for that one!
@ActiveOnHalo all good man, I know you mean good for the franchise. Hell you've been here since H2, correct?
I'm seeing all the comments and most of them are pretty generic 343 bad. I'm optimistic though. We'll see if Certain Affinity was really making a Halo Extraction Shorter (Ekur) 👀
Honest to God, being an Arena shooter IS holding Halo back. It could be so much more without copying other Halos.
Infinite was refreshing, but I'd like to see something different. Let us be able to t u n e our Spartan to an exact play style with it's own career. It can be done
W content. Halo can make it back to the top but it’ll take effort from corny ass halo studios
*Could* Halo save arena shooters? Possibly. *Will* Halo save arena shooters? I doubt it. I simply do not trust 343 ("Halo Studios").
Probably one of your best videos! Well done, really enjoyed this one
343 has done nothing to earn your trust. I appreciate your enthusiasm and I would LOVE to be wrong, but the ship has sailed on this franchise. The folks who made it what it was are long gone and in their place are a bunch of corporate ladder climbers with no investment in the Halo universe.
Well done on the video, I honestly never got into halo because I unfortunately never had an xbox during the golden era
content content content content content
if king of the hill isn't in the base game and added in an update im out
343i video over
arean shooters are the most popular single player shooter right now lol doom the one robot one dusk warhamer 40k boltgun and more are all massive
Terminology is blurry and not set in stone but generally "arena shooters" refers to PvP
@ doom 2016 and not nessasarly true
changing game engines isn't going to save this dead franchise. It's 343. Bungie not only started the franchise from the ground up on an in-house engine, but eventually went on to make modernized games like destiny. I hate destiny and none of OG bungie is at bungie, even for a lot of destiny 2, but it just shows the sheer incompetence of 343.
Also, I had no idea you were sponsored by MS/"halo studios"
think halo7 will be a make or break for a lot of halo fans if halo7 is not good i feel halo will go down hill
Yeah I agree, I think this is the last shot.
@@ActiveOnHalo Downhill? If Halo 7 fails, Halo is as dead as a doornail unless Microsoft gives Halo to the fans or id Software, no other game developer within a 100 miles will touch Halo as a franchise, if Halo 7 fails alongside a decade of incompetence from 343 Industries.
@@iLegionaire3755 I don't think they will fail this time. I truly dont.
The huge problem here is that the next halo could be another free to play live service. And I think we all know that those do NOT do well so the next game SHOULD be halo ce remake instead of another f2p multiplayer
Campground
Not under Halo Studios.
nice video :) youve come a long way with editing
Thank you sir 😁
Halo isn't an arena fps. Halo can't save itself. Wtf you talking bout skin
I'm excited to see Splitgate 2 release this year and I really hope it blows up! It has a unique formula and I think it will be a blast and has large skill gaps, but also a good entry level mechanic to make portals more manageable. That being said I do believe moving to UE5 is a great move for Halo Studios, but I think confidence in the studio has bee lost by a lot of Halo fans. Halo Studioes/343i has an uphill battle that wont be easy to win players over due to their track record with all of the previous Halo games they have been in charge of. I am rooting for them and I want them to succeed, because just like you, I love AFPS games and I want to see one on the top again.
Splitgate is going to be huge, I agree! And it's true, Halo will need a lot of trust back from fans!
Can Microsoft release Halo from Xbox jail?
The quick answer is NO.
I disagree but we can revisit this when the next game comes out ♥️
Titanfall3. Easy.
