HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE! I hope you all had a great Christmas and wonderful new year and for all new yearly updates regarding coaching, online courses and channel news please visit www.catchfishingchannel.co.uk Thanks for watching!
Its brilliant what Grant is doing with his fishery . The money he is putying into the project will pay for itself in time . Well Done Grant . Thanks for such insight Jamie . Excellent footage.
Great to see this. I fished there as a kid in the late 90s and snapped a top kit. The old owner came round and watched me land the fish that did it, as it took me about half an hour to land before the days of puller kits.
Great watch Jamie , Grant is very passionate about fishing and I'm sure this will be back to its former glories .
Me too mate I've no doubt he will :)
Grant and the team are doing one hell of amazing job. Just one item I don’t want him to bring back😱 that Red 4wheeler John would feed the fish from. So if your face fitted, he would drive round and stop to see how you were doing.😂😂😂😱 these were the days of the closed season, So you could see what a bonus having John or his lovely lady stopping for a chat could bring. Great memories could be told around this amazing new bar with log burner.👍👍👏👏
Hahaha oh great memories Dave!
Absolutely love seing the progress can’t wait to visit
Great video to start 2022 off Jamie i can't wait to see the rest of the videos on this lake project and Happy New year to you and your Dad mate
Thanks Thomas Happy New Year mate!
At 8.53, that looks like a section from a Shakespeare Flavia pole, not a landing net handle. It's got that raised spiral weave and red bands near the joints.
Looking back I think you're right Dan!
Hi Jamie
Brilliant idea, following the renovation of a lake
The under laying rubbish ,lost items of tackle, ridges, rocky outcrops, best holding areas, topography with a rare difference no water, it opens the thought process, can only improve your peg picture for future matches on that or other venues, great job buddy
Take care, stay safe, regards to Dad and T and keep it lit 👍 my friend.
Yes there's no wonder why we have to put so much importance on checking the depth! Thanks Stephen mate plenty more to come ;)
Fascinating ! Thank you .
Interesting stuff. Wish there was more behind the scenes stuff like this on you tube.
Plenty more to come Sam ;)
More than 20 years ago we booked a small club match (12) at Moorlands. The then man in charge pegged us under cables in a light drizzle. When we complained he said take it or leave it - he already had our money. Some were able to fish; the rest of us made use of the cafe. He seemed more interested in the cafe than the fishery. We swore we would never book again and we never did. It looks absolutely great now!
One of Jamie’s better videos hope grants efforts are rewarded with good numbers through the gates!
Amazing jamie, very interesting content and it would be amazing to be able to experience a venue being drained and see all the different treasures below the water
I'm working on a project like that so I'll keep you posted Owen ;)
@@CatchFishingChannel alright mate im always here youve got best content for fishing 👍🎣
@@owenarmstrong5265 Haha HERO thanks mate!
Loved those Garcia closed face reels back in the day!
Very geared up for match fishing with little bankside features. Must admit I would take a river over a commercial any day.
interesting to see below the water line, shows how important to check depth in various places around your peg, the most curios thing is how did so many reels end up in there not attached to rods.
Haha yeah that's true Mick!
Be great fun rooting round there👍
Happy New Year Jamie great video would love to see the progression through to conclusion excellent work by Grant thanks for sharing A+++
Used to love this place
Haven’t been in a good few years now
Great video this Jamie would love to more like this 👌
Plenty more like this coming mate :)
Top marks for reducing the peg number and providing more room for anglers.
Just watched a video on Makin's fishery cramming as many pegs in as they could. Obviously anglers are not the main consideration at Makin's.
Great video yet again , been fanatic watch through lockdown and covid time s . Seen same at Earlswood
Thanks Martin mate!
Great video, I look forward to seeing it revamped, have you tried the Engine pool at Earlswood recently, it's got to be the best winter fishing in the country for F1s.
Well worth doing a feature on Jamie.
wow that looked like a lot of tackle well over a 1000£ of it all 👍
Great video! I lost two sections to my daiwa neo carbon 8m pole in there 31 years ago! If they turn up let me know!
Look at them undercuts,
That's amazing how the carp are disolving the banks.
Madness isn't it!
Fantastic 👍
Surprised not to see a mobile phone Jamie I’ve dropped mine a few times luckily not in the drink ,thanks Jamie great vid
Really interesting video that Jamie....Might be a daft question but I've always wondered where they drain the lake water to and from what source do they fill it back up from (alot of water)?
Can be other lakes, and can refill from there. Also seen Boreholes used to aid filling. Depends on the water table and location of lakes etc.
No that's not a daft question mate and it depends on the fishery. One's like this one tend to have a stream / water flowing through them from above so that's why lots of them are built on tiers at different levels so that the water flows through them and then out back into the stream / river at the lowest point mate
you can practically touch one another the pegs are so close!.
I know i miht sound stupid but how do they drain the lake exactly ? Like where does the water go and go back in ?
Amazing to see whats on the actual bottom to what we think the bottom is like?? All themsnags waiting to cut you off!!
How did use get all the fish out?
I’ve swam in municipal swimming pools with more character than that place! 🤣
Happy NJ Jamie ;)
Happy New Year Frank mate!:):):)
That's literally my rod and reel my son kicked it in when I visited there long time ago 😢😂😢😂
always intresting to see developement on a fishery i think grant is making a mistake by making the pool really shallow at 3 ft 6 inch for two reasons one it will limit restocking ie you can only stock to the water you have got and two wen it silts up again grant will have even less depth \ water
Yes I totaly agree with you fish need the depth in winter to go that bit deeper from the colder shallows and in summer to go someware deeper to cooler depths, but to make it level all round without those varying levels I think it take away that good peg bad peg that makes a match more fun, it's just going to be to clinical and not natuaral.
Octoplus! Not seen that in years! What ever happened to them?
I'm not sure but they sure take you back don't they!
@@CatchFishingChannel They sure do and at the time, an amazing idea and bit of kit. Levelling a Shakespear box with legs, out of this world stuff haha
Fascinating to see what was at the bottom of that pool. What is the most random thing you've ever hooked while fishing?
Yes it is Brian isn't it! Hahaha there's been quite a few but I guess it was a Rolex watch! (obviously it wasn't worth anything!) How about you Brian?
@@CatchFishingChannel lol. Terrapins, swan mussels, a bitterling...I remember once catching a full can of coke by the ring-pull.
Hi Jamie, this lake is 40 years old. Was there also commercial fishing at that time.???
The commercial 'scene' here in UK really started in the early 90's but I'm sure there must have been commercial type waters around much earlier mate
@@CatchFishingChannel then we are way behind. Because here in the Netherlands it's not really happening yet. And most competitions still take place on natural water
@@janjr7357 They are becoming more popular though aren't they Jan?
@@CatchFishingChannel Do you know what it is Jamie. fishing here is popular. but if you know that Anja Groot has been 3 X world champion with the ladies. And no one around me knows who she is. But I think everyone who fishes knows Bob Nudd. And that's why the commercial fishing is also coming slowly
At least it's not just me that looses winders in the lake XD
Hahaha we've all done that mate! Haha
Lol I nearly lost my s36 winder stack unit once thank God it floated so I could get landing net under
Hahaha NO WAY! I'm glad it floated for you Mick!
@@CatchFishingChannel me to or I was going for a swim
Amazing to see how much natural life there isn’t in these ponds.
Exactly. Massively overstocked lakes are not much use to other wildlife such as insects. Personally, I would prefer to fish in my aquarium, as it would be a wilder angling experience.
No weeds or algae or grasses, what the heck could live there.
Where can we watch the video grant was on about maTe?
Found them on Facebook: facebook.com/moorlandsfarmfisherynew/videos
@@DaveKinetic Thanks Dave yes Aaron I think it's on the Moorlands Fishery Facebook page
That's too much crap thats in that lake. Probably repeated on fisheries the country over. We all need to take more responsibility when gear ends up in the lake. If you cant net it out, report it to the fishery owner. It's bad enough with the rivers and canals being full of bikes, shopping trolleys, houselhold items, you name it. We can prevent that on private fisheries though. And wouldnt it be great to see rivers and canals dredged like they used to be, prior to that EU directive preventing us from doing so!
Awfull no weed just a barron mud hole might as well stock your bath and fish for free
Aint the brum accent the most boring ever jokes aside bet there's many a novice fishermen watch there rod fly of the rests never to seen again
