    Great to see this. I fished there as a kid in the late 90s and snapped a top kit. The old owner came round and watched me land the fish that did it, as it took me about half an hour to land before the days of puller kits.

    Grant and the team are doing one hell of amazing job. Just one item I don’t want him to bring back😱 that Red 4wheeler John would feed the fish from. So if your face fitted, he would drive round and stop to see how you were doing.😂😂😂😱 these were the days of the closed season, So you could see what a bonus having John or his lovely lady stopping for a chat could bring. Great memories could be told around this amazing new bar with log burner.👍👍👏👏

    At 8.53, that looks like a section from a Shakespeare Flavia pole, not a landing net handle. It's got that raised spiral weave and red bands near the joints.

    Hi Jamie
    Brilliant idea, following the renovation of a lake
    The under laying rubbish ,lost items of tackle, ridges, rocky outcrops, best holding areas, topography with a rare difference no water, it opens the thought process, can only improve your peg picture for future matches on that or other venues, great job buddy
    Take care, stay safe, regards to Dad and T and keep it lit 👍 my friend.

    More than 20 years ago we booked a small club match (12) at Moorlands. The then man in charge pegged us under cables in a light drizzle. When we complained he said take it or leave it - he already had our money. Some were able to fish; the rest of us made use of the cafe. He seemed more interested in the cafe than the fishery. We swore we would never book again and we never did. It looks absolutely great now!

    Top marks for reducing the peg number and providing more room for anglers.

    Really interesting video that Jamie....Might be a daft question but I've always wondered where they drain the lake water to and from what source do they fill it back up from (alot of water)?

    • @sjmclean0
      @sjmclean0 2 года назад +1

      Can be other lakes, and can refill from there. Also seen Boreholes used to aid filling. Depends on the water table and location of lakes etc.

    • @CatchFishingChannel
      @CatchFishingChannel  2 года назад +3

      No that's not a daft question mate and it depends on the fishery. One's like this one tend to have a stream / water flowing through them from above so that's why lots of them are built on tiers at different levels so that the water flows through them and then out back into the stream / river at the lowest point mate

    always intresting to see developement on a fishery i think grant is making a mistake by making the pool really shallow at 3 ft 6 inch for two reasons one it will limit restocking ie you can only stock to the water you have got and two wen it silts up again grant will have even less depth \ water

    • @malcdicko6727
      @malcdicko6727 2 года назад

      Yes I totaly agree with you fish need the depth in winter to go that bit deeper from the colder shallows and in summer to go someware deeper to cooler depths, but to make it level all round without those varying levels I think it take away that good peg bad peg that makes a match more fun, it's just going to be to clinical and not natuaral.

    That's too much crap thats in that lake. Probably repeated on fisheries the country over. We all need to take more responsibility when gear ends up in the lake. If you cant net it out, report it to the fishery owner. It's bad enough with the rivers and canals being full of bikes, shopping trolleys, houselhold items, you name it. We can prevent that on private fisheries though. And wouldnt it be great to see rivers and canals dredged like they used to be, prior to that EU directive preventing us from doing so!
