I bought a Mini Max a couple of months ago. It's fantastic. I used to run a Hartke 3000 amp, but this has improved everything, mostly sound and portability. Well worth the £289.
The Psychoacoustic comes from the Peavey Kosmos Rack Unit. That Page used when Led Zep's catalog was being remastered from the original Tapes that were crumbling & the audio had lost bass mids & treb…. That Button is the Bomb.
Consider playing Bass "lines". Slow, grooves...with space between the notes so one can actually hear the character and weight of the amp tone. Maybe take a few minutes prior to recording a video and find the settings for some nice tones and then, just dial 'em in for us. And when you find a nice tone...leave it alone for a bit. Let's hear how it responds to a few different things. Constantly moving the knobs doesn't give us much;) Big fan of Andertons...keep up the great videos!
Oh boy.... Fat sounds! First class D head I really like! For those who don't know, Peavey has been designing their own gear for years and years and they have class D power amps for decades now. So they have allways been at the forefront of development. And now, when they launch their new bass class D stuff they..... KNOCK IT WAY WAY WAY OUT OF THE PARK!
Do sounds like for bass. It would be so good and you wouldn't have to do it every episode but like twice a month pleaseeeee. Do it for all the bass players out there.
Could you please cover the power section of the Peavey amps like this one? Peavey is on the forefront of Class D power amp design. Wich is very very different from Markbass and others who purchase their powersection from one business to business manufacturer.
Can we get a review of some acoustic basses? Namely the Fender Kingman, i'm really interested in buying one but there doesn't appear to be any reviews of worth that I can find.
Could we see you guys review some more Rickenbacker stuff? The only video you've done is on the 330 & 360. I'd love to see you do the 600 series, 12 strings, and 4003/4001 basses.
I tried the mini. I thought it wasn't a neutral amp in that it colored the sound a bit. I was trying it with an Ampeg and Agular (sp?) cabs. I didn't think the amp helped with a soul / r n b sound that was easier to find with a Genz Benz or Ampeg on the same cabs. Just my observations.
The trans tube feature sounds like distortion only which does not mimic a tube amp at all unless you over drive the heck out of it. It's missing the harmonic overtones that a tube amp has, Tube amps were colorful not distorted. I don't get it Peavey?
I wish they had used a different bass. The fret noise seems to be the only treble coming from it, and it's just maddening. Good for slap, irritating for fingerstyle. Personally, I feel the bass amps and cabinets, particularly the cabinets, are Peavey's best products. They're cheap, have a decent sound, and are durable as can be.
You can hear it clearly if you listen to the podcast on headphones. It's loud enough that they turn the amp off while they are talking. And make an excuse about it when they turn the amp back on.
1. 12:54, play that funky music, brit boy! 2. it occurs to this old guitar player that when Nathan plays a bass riff with no accompaniment, one could record it to his or her multi-track on their computer and make a good jam track, or is everyone already on their phones with this stuff? Or maybe people already do that. I'm so old. 3. For younger players, how 'bout a quick tutorial about speaker cabs? Or has Rob already done this?
Why the fuck does not any of these companies make a 2x15 cabinet any more. i grew up on 15's and cant stand tens alone. i want good old school 2x15's. my acoustic 320 with the 408 has 4x15's in it and there aint a cab and head out there today that is going to out throw and perform this over thirty year old rig that i have owned since 1979.
Check out Greenboy's fEARful and Fearless cabinets: you will discover that making bass cabs like proper speaker cabs instead of traditional bass cabs yields results which make a 2x15 almost superfluous.
Bassists look at RMS. They don't care about peak or other values. Companies like Bugera abuse their 'peak power' ratings by a large margin. Yes, they got 2kW for the first millisecond, but who the fuck cares? Who even cares about peak power? What is important, is sustained RMS power. That's the thing that will carry the bass notes on a live stage. you got a 600 and 500W amp there. Fuk all the other ratings!
Number one when when you master 4 strings on a bass get an extra string did you even hear how many bad and off notes you play? I'm still trying to master 4 strings. I am considered one of the best bass players in my area and I am in high demand and looked up to by my fellow musicians and help anyone around me to be the best musician the can
however, that set-up looks like seriously good value for money. Shame i already have my (surprisingly similar) Carvin bass rig, or else i'd have to give this serious consideration.

I tried one recently on a gig going through an SWR 4x10 cab,and an old Fender PBass. Sounded great!

Glad to see more stuff for Bass on this channel.
+Art G Thank you Art. Check out the bass playlist, there are loads of bass videos....
DDT...like the wrestling move? :P
I love the sound of this. This looks like a worth while purchase, and I only dabble in bass.
i have this Peavey Mini Max 500 Bass Amp together with Phil Jones Bass Cab Compact 8. love it!
Oh boy.... Fat sounds! First class D head I really like!

Just got this. Running it through two old school epifani 112. I think it's gonna be money!
Could you please cover the power section of the Peavey amps like this one? Peavey is on the forefront of Class D power amp design. Wich is very very different from Markbass and others who purchase their powersection from one business to business manufacturer.
The Mid knob tends to make the sound lose all its width but the Treble one gives some good clarity. Nice little puppy anyway, thanks for the test. o/

I am so tempted to grab a peavey mini max... there is one locally for a decent price.

Please, PLEASE, cover the reverend basses you've started stocking!
Video in the works..
+Andertons Music Co why did I ever doubt you!
Fan cooled? All I needed to know. Thanks

I'd love to see the Flea jazz bass in the show. :-P

Maybe some bass accessories reviews?
I might get to retire my peavey XR400B now, damn thing is almost twice as old as me XD
When Jake the Snake isn't wrestling he uses Peavey bass amps
Could you do a video showcasing various acoustic basses, I got an Ibanez AEB10E the other week and it's a different but rewarding thing to play.
I wish they had used a different bass. The fret noise seems to be the only treble coming from it, and it's just maddening. Good for slap, irritating for fingerstyle.

What about the fan noise? I read on Peavy MniMax is very loud? Is it?
You can hear it clearly if you listen to the podcast on headphones. It's loud enough that they turn the amp off while they are talking. And make an excuse about it when they turn the amp back on.
More Vids should start with Mark King style chops!!!!! Awesome!
it is my dream to share a coffee with lee
Ibanez makes a Chaos Bass!!!
hey Lee your my favorite

Eric Lund. Leg end and long lost brother of Ron Jeremy.
I waited since this series started for some explanation of the "GU1" in the title image and nothing. Can anyone explain it to me?
That is the postcode beginning for Guildford... Also, Google "Abbey Road signs". :)
Thank you very much!
Well...5 pounds is little bit lighter than my peavey mark IV
Dat intro solo doe
What is the ohmage on this head?

Sad that Fender makes 5-string basses but not 7-string guitars...
n 6s bass. 😕 hmm squier did make 7s strat guitar. around 2003++. hope fender makes 7s guitar. its 2016 god sakes. 😂
Fender made the first seven string guitar
Jerrod Rushford They maybe did, but I'd love a 7 or 8s HH Telecaster. That neck is delightful to play.
Gretsch, Epiphone, and Kirk Sand beat Fender.

Anybody would think this guy thinks he's Mark King or something!! 😁
Nathan always seems so hard to please.
I think he does us all a service in that regard.
Rob is probably crying, watching this...
***** cuz he is jealous...
Carvin BX250. :)

The Captain obviously has no idea how to set up a bass amp for any time of grind tone. that thing as usual sounds like it is farting out a football.
Does anyone talk about the damn amp in the video? Geez

Oh fr?
Unfortunately, Peavey sucks. #undercoverbosses
lool yeahhh... that show really turned me away
Still waaayyy toooo much talking… we want to Hear the Amp…
Am I the only one who looked at that bass and saw uneven frets? I'm a fret leveling nazi.
Why is everything a SLAP VIDEO. Nauseating
I do know about Ohm's law, and you didn't!
And it's impedance, not resistance that's important!!!
however, that set-up looks like seriously good value for money. Shame i already have my (surprisingly similar) Carvin bass rig, or else i'd have to give this serious consideration.
Impedance is AC resistance: the term is meant to prevent confusion.
You are almost certainly better off with the Carvin. I have GAS for the BX1600, and I do not even play bass!
Don't buy peavey.
Brandon Davis lol having a bad day?
+NightPanda Nah just a Peavey fanatic haha
buy drungs!!
