Tying a little line to the end of the wires before you pull them out, gives you something to tie them back on, and pull them thru the little hole. Just a suggestions for next time. Thank you for sharing.
You’re 100% right. That’s how I did it in my own f100 I didn’t need to on this one. But yes that is a much easier way to do it if you’ve never done it before.
@living in a desert I did the same thing, until I remember how electricians pull new wire in construction. No doubt we learn thru mistakes (or doing the things the hard way).
@@Thecraig909 I am learning a lot from the things you are doing. I really appreciate you sharing your work, as many must do too.
There’s nothing better than working on your truck because after all the hard work you can be proud of it
Please do an update on Xavier truck when he gets it going
Awesome video look like you have lot of fun work on trucks
Awesome video man
What does he want for the floor shifter? I have a 78 F100 302/3spd that a previous owner put a floor shifter in but now its wore out.
Do you have any info on adjusting doors on 1971 F100 ??????
Hey where you bought the gearstick knobs 3 speed shift.
I have a 63 ford f100 what do I need to do for a 3 speed floor conversion will the hurst 3 speed floor shifter kit work? Just wondering
8 speed sequential on the column son!!!
Down
What did you use to coat the undercarriage of your truck?
TERRA!!!🤘🏼
A beautiful blue tower of power!
Do you guys still have the floor shifter and linkages? If so, I’d buy it from you.
There will always be room for original stock parts .. and that said what flies for him won't hold butter for you. I hold soft spots for the original, but I have always fabbed my own when it came to building bullet proof tripel sticks for drag racing style. Just touch and wala boom they hit with a vengeance into next gear no clutch necessary cause it was split second and you had to listen sharp to hear rpms to change. ... five second quarter miles ate buck fifty speeds. I like you are fixing galaxie but hope that the truck gets a lot of love on the way. It may stretch things thing... hope it ain't top roman/LOL. I hear catsup makes the best tomato soup
What size engine is the six cylinder in Xavier’s truck?
Oooo I spot a T5 sitting next to that top loader lol
Where to go with the three speed on the column specially if it comes from the factory that way
What song is that ?
6 speed in the galaxie lmao
That pickup would have come with a 240, I6, did he use that, or upgrade to the 300? I've got to say, the 300 is one powerful engine.
Good job on the shifter/collar replacement. It's a pain in the ass, but, that's the only way to do it.
early broncos will be at cruzn grand aug 2nd, maybe see the 100s then.
tower of power
I think it's great you can take time out from playing guitar with QOTSA to do these video's, thanks Josh.😉
The 3 on the tree driving experience is unique I love shifting anyway, a 3 speed column shift is a driving experience all it's own.
I have to agree
I daily a 77 with a column shift.
Have been looking at either doing the Hurst floor shift conversion or outright swapping in a 4 speed.
A unique experience, but one that gets old
Can anyone give me some advice? I have a 1969 F250 with a 3 speed on the column. I can’t drive a manual.. everyone keeps telling me these old classic trucks are not good for learning how to drive stick shift and that I should swap it out for an automatic for now.
Just drive the thing in a parking lot till youre comfortable and have fun fuck swapping an auto
Old trucks are perfect to learn manual in
Wavyy Based just take your time when learning
All these guys are right. It takes a good month to get good and confident with a stick. But in an older vehicle everything is mechanical. And you feel everything so you know what the trucks doing. I was the only guy out of 1500 people in my entire high school that had a 3 on the tree. They’re unique. And get a lot of commentary at car shows. Anyone and everyone has an auto. Stay original. Plus if you’re like me and get bored of it you can swap to a five speed and get some speed out of the thing.
I appreciate all the feedback you guys! Gives me a little more confidence that I can do it haha I will be keeping the 3 speed! 😎
Did Xavier sell his 3 speed floor shifter? I'm in the market for a used one. '65 F100 390 swb
My 68 had a three speed on the floor when I first got it.
Omg Craig again I apologize for my comment and stuff didn’t realize it was your friends truck getting a 3 speed again but the thumb nail looks so much like your truck
So I’ve been searching for this song for 45 min what is it please help
It’s funny to think I got to meet denis carpenter and got to work on his old houses ac system
not being rude but why a inline 6 do they have any benefit over the v8 or is it just preference and cost
Well in stock form an inline 6 will inherently make more torque than a v8 just becuase of the configuration. That and its kinda obscure.
Could be he wants it original. It will out pull the 302. A bud had an 1989 F150 4x4 with the 300 I6 multi port injection, 4 speed. It rolled on better than a 5.0
Because stock is cool.
Cool
I’m looking for a six speed for my 62 f-100 ( 82’ 302/351) but will take a 5 speed If you wanna sell it.
Hey, thats me! 2:25
Yes sir. Thank you!
Cheyenne?
10 speed in the galaxy
Oh how I wish a 5 speed was so easy on a FE. SBF has it made compared to FE in regards to aftermarket.
Dean Family Acres modern drive line has everything you need to put a 5 speed on a fe motor
Ryan Long oh I know they do. It’s not overly complicated, but it’s $$$. SBF vs FE builds are different categories from a cost perspective.
But great video
whats he doing with the floor shifter
I have it at the moment. The linkage should work for a four speed when I make my galaxie a stick
@@Thecraig909 4 speed has 3 rods not 2
@@Thecraig909 if you wanna sell it whats your email
You cant beat a 3 on tree shift if your getting stuck 1st and reverse are up and down from each other allowing you to get a rock going when your getting stuck.
It was clickbait but actually good clickbait
They are called Dog dish hub caps
You lied lol you never went live when u said u would for us 😂
The one the next day I talked about huh? Yea totally forgot. I was busy cutting plates for my frame. I’ll livestream here in the next week!
Your fine buddy lol you keep doing what u like I enjoy watching everything you post
Is that a 3 on the tree?
Yep.
Man you scared me
What??!
Z06 7 speed in the galaxie lol
4:29 *head not heads lol
🤤 i6
If it's the 300...its a powerful engine...high torque. Put an Offenhouser 4V setup on it...OMG..watch it burn the tires!
@@michaelcook768 yes! I have a 82 f150 300i6 it's got msd ignition box, offenhouser dual plane intake, headman headders, and a 600 cfm edelbrock. Bought it a year ago for $300. amazing engine.
@@Sam-yo1xp Kinda like a truck version of the Hudson Twin H car engine in the early 1950s. It would outrun the V8s of its day.
What wrong with a 5 speed?
Sorry, but I'm not fan of straight six engines on that truck.
Personally I agree
@@Thecraig909 I'd rather put a V8 engine if I were him.
2jz swap that beast
Naaaaahhhhh
@@lilscarred8516 i was kidding but i think his truck is cool the way it is right now
@@BigBoyz33 true true
