Watching the videos of this F100 is bringing back so many memories. When I was like 7 years old my family had a beat up 67 F100 that someone had put a 390 in. It was years before I got into cars, and I always regret not convincing my family to let me drive it out in the desert. We eventually sold it when I was still little, and I always miss that truck. I now have a K20 that I built a 383 stroker for, but someday I want to get a F100 and build it similar to yours. Your truck is beautiful, so keep having fun building it! I also wanted to recommend running diesel oil because it has much more zinc, plus some other stuff to protect the cam. I know some guys that do sprint cars, and they were saying that they always run diesel oil in their flat tappet cars.

I think it's time for some Nice Cobra Fined aluminum valve covers that will come with the proper baffles. And yes a PCV Valve is a must to relieve crank case pressure! Running a flat tappet cam It's imperative that you use oil with zink at all times! Valvoline Racing oil will work as well..
Nice truck, great to see more f100 builds!!! I love my f100 we built a 390 for it. Got our lifters from summit, knock on wood they have held up well to the comp thumper cam we re-used. (Budget Rebuild) I also recommend the zinc additive or zinc rich oil. Probably the only reason we got away with running new lifters on a used cam. (I used 2 bottles of the Lucas zinc additive on the first two oil changes) I'm running Rotella 15w40 conventional until the break in period is over. (390 FE)

Sure seems you got a handle on things now.

Lifters can be such a pain sometimes....baffles 100% and must have pcv valve or you will have 100%crank case pressure which will blow out your rear main seal and will reduce engine life...truck sounds awesome!!!
Just an idea, on the right hand valve cover use an oil filler cap with a hose barb then a short hose and a piece of steel tube or conduit and run it down below the oil pan to make a road draft tube which were used until 1965.
Its sounds fantastic!!!! Get a catch can those filters always do that. Only thing you can do is zip tie a rag around the filter to keep it clean, you have done a great job and the ( friends ).
You should go solid roller cam and lifters and never look back. Im mean how many times have you already had the rocker covers off. With a small lift roller cam you would check the lash at every oil change
I ran small block Ford’s with solid lift comp cams 290 duration with 512 lift just because I didn’t like the hydraulic tappets. Sounds great and looks better.
Nice job on the rebuild Craig... break that baby in right for at least a few hundred miles.... then dial her in & visit the local 1320' when you are ready .....oh & make sure you post a video ! ✌😎 BTW: Truck sounds wicked ☺ What kind of 1/4 mile times would you be looking for... 15's - 14's ( that would be my guess ) Unless you buy a bigger carb , hi- rise manifold, possibly a nitrous kit 😉 & some racing gas ! I’m a big fan of old fords and this one is so awesome. Even though Id own a stock height truck. It’s just an awesome truck. That truck makes me really want to get a patina truck even though I’m not a big fan of patina. I’m thinking on 5 speed swapping my 92 bronco 4x4. With the 351 Windsor.
After rebuilding your front end with wheel bearings and king pins, how bad is your camber now? I put 3” drop coils on my 72 f100 and I need to go through the front end but I’m curious on how much it helps the camber? Thanks
My big block had same oil leak issue I believe it was Moroso makes grommet that fits on valve cover with built in baffles then your breather just slips in cheap fix 5 or 6 bucks
There a guy on Facebook 79-93 foxbody page that take old factory radios and ads Bluetooth to them so you can keep the factory look. I bet he could do that to one the old Ford truck radios to.

Keep lots of zinc in your oil since you are still running flat tappets. Love your content.

Lucas makes oil with the zinc built into it so it saves from having to buy the additive, I use it and love it

I'm not for sure, but it looks like those valve springs are for a hyd. roller, not a flat tappet. JMTC So glad to see you back on here.

They make a rubber grommet baffle for your breather. I think advance or auto zone may carry it. Great progress on the truck

Not sure if your alternator is 3g or not but thats a great easy upgrade for that truck for voltage. Mid 90s taurus has what you need among others

Roller lifters are the trick man. Trust me. Pcv and Moroso baffled breather will fix your oil issue.

Hook up the pvc velve and put the bathel under the velve cover and that should get rid of the oil spill over

Put your ground strap back on the engine cylinder head (to firewall) to fix the electrical issue,
I run 6psi of fuel pressure on mine with a 750 edelbrock. Like holley better but it was free so that's always nice.

I purchased a sleeper truck. It's a 1987 Ford 150 Lariot XT Longbed extended crew cab 2x4 with a Cobra 351cu.in. Police Interceptor Engine.
I noticed a couple times in your video that the voltmeter only read 12 volts while running. Is that a known thing, or does your alternator work?
Wipe it down in line seed oil vgg does it all the time and they look amazing
