This vid is such a lifesaver!! i just started color guard and i chose to do flag and riffle yet i've only practiced with the flag, now im expected to practice over winter break with both and i was really stuck before watching this vid
I feel like I'm doing it right until I catch the first spin. I always grab on the black part or right under it, I occasionally grab it in the right spot. How do I fix this?
Hey! sorry I just saw your comment now, if you're grabbing on the black part (the Bolt) that means you're grabbing too soon and you're only doing a half spin. If you're grabbing right under the bolt that means grabbing alittle too soon but you're getting enough rotation. You'll know you did it properly if you start and end in the neck :)
It means you're either over rotating or over doing the spin itself or possible grabbing it way too soon so it can complete it rotation. If you catch it anyway other than straight up and down (nose up or down depending on what side you're on) then that might be your issue
In this video I am using tan gloves by King but normally when I spin I use tan Everdry gloves by DSI which I like more because there is more padding but King gloves are great if you want a thinner glove where you can have more grip on your equipment :)

Congrats! I know how hard it is to get your drop spins when you're first learning. Happy for you!

Why is my hand not staying in the same spot after I do a spin

What brand of gloves do you use?
