Are they the oem splitters? I already have splitters installed but I dont know if they are oem so Im unsure if the oem lip will fit with third party splitters.
Hi! Die Schablone ist bei der Lippe mit dabei. Siehe Bild: www.schmiedmann.de/de/produkt/1962028-neu?produkt=51-19-2-410-360 Ob es die einzeln gibt weiß ich nicht.
I'm getting ready to do this install myself. Your video is really helpful. Did you glue the splitters or just use the double sided tape? It's been over a year since you installed it, how's it holding up? Your car looks pretty low. Has it gotten beaten up?
Hi! I'm glad it helps. I used Betalink K2 as described in the instructions from BMW. But for that you still need an applicator gun, which I didn't know, so I mixed the glue with a spatula. Her is the video: ruclips.net/video/egJ6vGBen1I/видео.html So far everything is holding up perfectly. Since the lip is drilled into the apron through the carbon flaps anyway, I would use Betalink K1 or tape. But keep in mind that betalink will damage the paintwork if you want to take it off again. I can't go up steep driveways, but I don't have to anyway. I've slightly scratched my lip a few times, but you hardly see any scratches. It is very robust and stable.
@@AndreasBurkhardt1 I'm just about done and mounting lip and those little plastic tabs are giving me a hard time. My lip spoiler is painted so I'm trying to be extra careful. I tried a small screwdriver like you suggested.
Theoretically, you could install the lip without the splitters, but then the lip could be slightly curved because of the missing distance between lip and front bumper, that the splitters add.
@@AndreasBurkhardt1 that was the thing I was worried about. Whether it would just make contact with the part that's already there? The splitter is quite thin isn't it
@@MatthewM770 It's not just the thickness of the splitter. Because of the accuracy of fit, the splitter does not lie completely flat on the apron. So the splitter adds approx. 0.5 cm more distance in total, if I remember correctly. Here you found a picture of an F80 (the red one) without the splitters and the resulting bended lip. f80.bimmerpost.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1516512

Fortunately there are people who share their passion because the BMW assembly instructions are not very clear. Thank you 😉
Thanks bro!
Very helpful video, thank you for posting it. After watching it I feel more confident to install mine!

Yes, oem.

Super Arbeit
Hast du die Schablone noch?
Woher bekomme ich die Schablone?

thanks for the helpful install, did you use double sided tape to install the splitters?

Next time I would use Betalink K1 or 3M double sided tape.

Was hast du für Spurplatten drauf ?
Mit den Yido Felgen keine. Mit den originalen M437 vorn 10mm und hinten 12mm Spurplatten.
I have this lip but without the splitters, do you think it will look right without them? The little clips are on top right?

@@MatthewM770 Mhh.. from this site it is not clear whether you need the splitters or not. I would ask their support.
@@AndreasBurkhardt1 Besten Dank.
The middle 2 screws came off of mine so the lip is hanging loose in the middle. Any advice on the best fix?
If the screws can no longer be tightened because the thread in the upper adapter (2:48min) is damaged, then you need to replace the upper adapter.
@@AndreasBurkhardt1 i just put a zipyie through the holes and tightened it lol
@@arthurjames9450 😅
can we install the mperformance board without the flaps ?
MGM it won‘t fit 100%
What if, install without two carbon flaps. any gaps??
There will be a gap and this will make the lip crooked when screwed down.
@@AndreasBurkhardt1 ta for info!
I hate the drilling part i still have to install mine
I assume you needed the heavy work gloves to drill plastic with a masonry bit? Lol!
