- 🌱 After 3 months I finally have my Tokyo Apartment Makeover!🌱 This is an older Japanese apartment building but I think it adds to the charm. In this makeover I swap out and build furniture, use contact paper on my kitchen cabinet, make organizers from Daiso, hang curtains, add my plant friends and more.

Ya it's not ok in most apartments in Japan! The current apartment I'm in now definitely doesn't allow nails in the wall. But for this apartment my landlord didn't mind at all so I was very lucky! And thank you!:)

the print of your "terrifying" curtains is the same as traditional finnish ceiling decoration called "himmeli". irl they're actually quite pretty. people make them out of straw and thread and stack them like that to make them look really complex.
Those curtains and rugs made a huge difference in your bedroom! And I loved the door knots! Small things and changes for big results 💜

I once lived in the typical old japanese apato during my uni life too. My room became crazy cold when it comes to winter since the window doesn't have latest technology to keep the room warm. I recommend to buy a real good heater to ^^

I actually like the original design and then can make aesthetic transformation. If only i can have something like this in singapore i would love to. But here its so expensive because you cannot have your own apartment. You need to coshare or else u get the entire unit or rent a studio type but this two were very expensive for foreigner worker like me
That’s cute girl I got my bed frame from ikea I love my appointment I live alone to in Colorado sometimes it gets lonely but that’s why I have my birds 🐦 for they keep me completely.

All i can say Japan usually have the coolest and high tech bathrooms/ shower-rooms but the kitchens in general are like holly molly

You should invest in some gadgets to prevent earthquakes! There’s many options online and in stores in Japan. There’s also videos to watch to help you decide what to do get. It’s just a safety precaution.
Let me tell u that kitchen is sooo big like DAMN! 😃✋ that much space even after tht washing machine 🧍♀️

Only having a sink to make the dishes, brush the teeth and wash the face may be not practical at all, but imagine only having a small bathroom sink to do all of that, aka the joy of living in a student apartment.

Hahaha mine bends a little bit so it doesn’t feel too stiff! But sometimes I throw a little blanket on it if I’ve been sitting on it too long

Nail the nail to the wall... Is that allowed? Because many rent house in Japan doesn't allowed you to damage the wall with some nails or screw. Even the sticky back hooks.
