Absolutely love this music, it touches my heart and soul and I am amazed of the way that you present it. You feel the spirit of the music, its really rare foreign musicians to presen bulgarian folklor music in such an authentic and magical way. Love for all of you!
Wonderfully played. Bulgarian songs are something else altogether but instrumentals such as these sometimes remind me of Northumbrian pipe music (I love both musical cultures having lived 35 years in the UK. and the last 6 in Bulgaria)
Het doet me zeer goed dat deze prachtige Bulgaarse volksmuziek door jongere musici doorgegeven wordt! (Sprak de 82 jarige darbuka/davulspeler) Nogmaals: vrlo lepo!!

I used to dance this at dance parties in the 1960's in the SF Bay Area. Great flirty partner dance, where you never touch your partner, but a handkerchief is passed between the 2. I love seeing that a new generation of young people is taking up the old traditional dance tunes, playing ancient instruments that are rarely heard these days. It makes me happy to know that the music and dances are going on into the future as us old folks fade away. Our eyes and ears still work, so this is a real treat. Thanks
That drum in Bulgaria is called tupan. Since it is a Bulgarian tune (rachenitsa) it seems more logical to list it with the Bulgarian name, especially when you have Gaida, Kaval and Tambura, which are all Bulgarian instruments. The lyra may easily pass for gadulka as well.
What does it matter. The sound and music are very well. Music connects all people, does not make sence where you are coming from. I have danced folkdances from Roemenië, Hungary, Montenegro, Macedonia, Greece, Servia, Bosnia, Bulgaria, Slovakia, Slovenia, and the whole rest of Europe and some other parts of the world and I liked it. From Nederland, as known as "the Netherlands" or Holland.
The origin of this music and rythm is from Thace (Eastern Romilia).
