Menzies is lifting his game , only a matter of time ,
Challenge-Tour should make out about the first 10-15 players in the ranking, minimum, to be Tourcard-holders for the next season. They proved a constant good form over a whole year. And they could manage time, work and family. On queue school it is enough to have one good day or a few days in a week to qualify. Some players who qualify on queue school are often not able to be a professionel dart player for different reasons.

And you certainly "do it all for you" very well, Matt... dissecting it all up for us. Great overview. Heta is struggling, too... good to see a couple of 6-0 wins in the mix, despite the average. Yes, very scary board for the top 16 to face! Good info... no comment on your last question, I don't have an opinion ether way on that.

It is absolutely crazy to me that we have 14 different winners in 14 players championships this year!
Well done to Plaisier as well. He looked fairly impressive at times at Lakeside this year so hopefully he can kick on and get a tour card this year
I say 7 or 8 players from the Main Order of Merit are going out. It wouldn't surprise me if more than the half is going out, but also some players like Luke Littler or Gary Anderson could get not easy draws like Luke Humphries, Michael Smith or so where Humphries or Smith win maybe after 2-clear-leg-rule.
It will be a great and exiting tournament.

Also, can't Plaisier just get a tour card now? 😂 2 back to back finals is amazing for a non-tour card holder. He's definitely better than a lot of the tour card holders

Living the dream
Its been a great two days of darts looking forward to the draw tomorrow's at 12pm gonna be absolutely amazing as am going on 20th and 21st July ill be watching it in pubs and that so should be an amazing two days in Blackpool for me all of the tournament gonna be so fun
Still an amazing day for Menzies. Has, for all intents and purposes, already qualified now for ally pally and minehead, and now in a provisional grand prix spot as well. Has a real opportunity now for the rest of the year to kick on and climb the rankings and take the next step in his career.
It’s great to see puha nice win against lauby and a 4-6 loss to price certainly improving
Two things that really stood out:
First round Dimi goes out averaging 107 after being 4-0, Simon Whitlock won 6 legs in a row. The last 4 all in 15 darts. The king of the last dart finish.
And that 115 average of Robert Owen in the last 32!
Vs a 105 was incredible

It pains me to say it but I predicted Joe Cullen's crash two years ago…His throw action is AWFUL, so when things go wrong (in his head) it was always DESTINED to fall apart!…And again, I take NO pleasure in saying so. 😥

hey Mat, any chance you could make a video about copyright issues in Darts, specifically regarding peoples nicknames etc? specifically James Wilson comes to my mind, who had issues with his nickname, had to change it, but now has changed it back. Are there any regulation from the PDCs side or are you good to go with whatever nickname you want until someone from the outside interferes?
asking because players like Ricardo Pietrezco (probably horribly misspelt that one) have nicknames that have to be copyrighted, Pikachu for sure being one. any chance they could get into trouble for their nicknames as well?
Copyright will be the same for any copyrighted item. I think ricardo has been lucky to avoid action so far tbh
@@Edgartvdarts yeah, Nintendo can be unforgiving. They have to know it's being worn on stage. They must be ok with it for now.
Raziel, I think the nickname should be fine but he has a full Pikachu on his back. That's the biggest bit. Like Van Barneveld having Barney on his back, he had to take it off.

Dear Edgard, have a question for you. how can Plaisier having no tour card play in players championship? You said “if he keeps winning, he will have a tour card” I thought tour card was a must to take part in the players championship, and Q school is the only way to get it. Am I missing something here? I am planning to register for Q schoool for 2025.

Why is there a 2 year ranking ?
What is the reason to not use a 1year ranking to define who can stay on the pro tour or not.
The only thing I can see is that the worlds takes to much in the ranking.
Is that the reason ?
I've been saying this for ages, Littler will not be a permanent figure in darts. Nothing to do with ability either.
As an Aussie I love to see Whitlock win, however these wins here and there just aren't going to cut it long term.
