That's why I never pull my darts until I know for sure that the marker has it right or has at least said the score out loud. Not sure what the WDF rules are on that, but there's only one way to make sure you're scored the correct amount.
Simple rule. Don’t pull your darts till the checker has it right. Your only proof is to leave the darts in till it’s clear!
Exactly
That is the golden rule 👍
Size of him if he said he said every dart was in you wouldn't argue
Exactly 🤣 if he said he finished 176 he could have had it
@@Edgartvdarts finished 501 pal
Great darts well done
I would go with the wrestler against a bodybuilder in the mentioned case ... Matthew could attack his knees.
Darts? completed it mate 🤣
I'd like to see Adam Smith-Neal play Daniel!
100% it was 100. As a player, it's your responsibility to hear the marker's call, and dispute immediately BEFORE removing your darts if you disagree. No use crying after you've removed them - it's a done deal then..
It's blurry but I would also say it's a 140
I haven't played at that sort of level Matt, but when I have played around here the accepted rule is that the marker will say the score before the player takes their darts out of the board. That way there is no confusion and any debate about the score is quickly resolved. Taking your darts from the board means you accept the called score. I take it there was nothing similar in place.
At first I thought the last dart was hiding behind the other darts, but looking at it frame by frame I noticed his final dart enters the board on the LEFT from the dart that is already inside the treble 20. So to me it looks like a 140.
I looked at the wire to see if the pin covers the bottom of the wire, meaning it would be a single 20, but I think it didn't. The color of the wire became a bit darker, but I think it's because of the shade from the dart rather than from the dart itself
I would say it looks more like a 140 than it doesn’t, but if you told me it was 100, I wouldn’t have thought much about it. But I’ll address the elephant in the room, the roid rage. 😂
Absolutely no rage shown here, educate yourself and don’t just spout catchphrases you’ve read online. If one is prone to a short temper then it’ll occur with or without anabolic usage. Clearly Daniel looked extremely composed up there, as Matt also said. So, whether or not he takes anabolics is none of your business nor concern and Daniel handled himself immaculately up there; the absolute worst thing that happened there is that either Daniel or the marker miscounted. Nothing more.
Roid rage isn’t an Internet catchphrase, it’s been around since at least the 70’s. 😂
@@herschelsquirts2338 where did anyone say it was an internet catchphrase?
@@Charlie-xt1ft you literally said “catchphrases you’ve read online” 😂
@@herschelsquirts2338 doesn’t make it an internet catchphrase, it means Ryan has seen it online and just thrown it around without understanding how it works, what it is and what nonsense those who misuse it spout
Similar thing happened to me up in Yorkshire. I hit a big treble to leave 32 - checker put in the wrong score which meant my partner wasn't on a finish. I now always double check all scores to ensure they are correct.
It looks like a 140 to me too, but the footage is blurry.
The bottom line here is why is he getting in your face? He should be talking to the score tracker. All he was doing was intimidating you and it worked.
Did look like a 140 from the footage but really hard to say.
Unless he insists on reviewing the cameras, which he didn’t because he carried on in the leg. At that point he has accepted the referee’s decision. Verbally moaning afterwards is not a good look. Imho
This video didn't address a key point: what was the scorers' vocal call? If it was 100 then Daniel must accept this. Players complaining and wanting VAR is totally ridiculous. I also thought it was poor form of him to keep badgering you about it. It's nothing to do with you. What difference would it have made to look at it afterwards? He would have only done that if he'd lost. The vocal call was key here, 'one hundred' doesn't sound like 'one hundred and forty'. Once it's entered then that should be that
Play at pub level and had similar happen to me but I’d pulled out the darts before I realised and so just kept quiet. Lesson learnt.
I would say that it was a 140, since the last two darts are so close together, but it is really hard to tell since the camera quality is not that good and zooming in doesn't make it more clear either.
Lucky he wasn't on cycle that week or else someone would have got bench pressed through the window
Check it a few times and that's for sure a 140, 2nd dart went in the triple and the 3rd is just to the left of it. I'm guessing like a few other have said that the marker/s are calling the scores.
clearly a ton, attached a pic under Matt's first tweet about this. (best quality available)
@@adamplays9594 Don't use X. Still think it a 140 being that dart 2 n 3 are side by side. Either way that doesn't answer the question about if the scorer/s were say/calling out the scores.
You listen to the score called by marker then if you want to dispute it you do so before you remove your darts. I am axe thrower, rule is you can dispute the score before touching your axe (a second judge checks score, their call final), once touched axe original score called counts.
This why i always say my score before pulling my darts so if the chalker has a different # we can address it.
Couldn't agree more. I even go as far with some chalkers as saying my score
What do the WDF and PDC rulebooks say about video review? There is no provision under the ADO rules to allow for it.
It‘s always very unfortunate in a situation like this. I‘ve had a similar situation myself when in a tournament, I hit the required double, didn‘t see it was in though, so I threw another dart, which went into the single. Everyone said, that was 'no score', even though I knew it wasn‘t. I tried to point to the official rules but the guys watching all said that they didn‘t know of this rule and that I busted the score. That feeling of unfairness increased as I then went on losing the match (this all happened in the deciding leg). So I completely understand Daniel‘s reaction here. Very unfortunate. He will most likely learn from it to leave his darts in the board and make sure that the score is marked correctly!
Wth that's so nasty
@@LiamT170 unfortunately that still happens… I’m not a very good player, so it‘s even worse when something like this happens in a match like the one described in the video
maker couldn't say sorry. , I've zoomed it too now and there are 2 points on red.
clearly a ton, attached a pic under Matt's first tweet about this. (best quality available)
Really hard to tell - always horrible when this happens as it throws people off big time.
Who was hoping Matthew would have taken out the 124 😁 I have learned from experience sometimes it is very difficult to say what a darts score is as turn the board slightly and it can look very different. Only sure fire way is don’t take your darts out too quickly. Remember that double twelve a while ago was it in was it not in. It looked out from one angle but no it was in. I’m sure football officials have the same problem when determining if the whole of the ball has crossed the line.
Unfortunately, this was an S..t show of a game
Not only is the marker the one who is responsible for the score, the darts were retrieved.
AND this distracts Matt which stinks.
If he has a problem with it, he could’ve taken it up with the organizers
Matt should NEVER question whether he should WIN THE LEG!!!!
Get your tour card back mate miss watching you play on pdc
Didn‘t they call out the scores while marking? Otherwise he couldve just corrected the marker while leaving his darts in the board. Found it pretty disrespectful that he was still keep on talking to you even tho he still won the leg, i would have been very mad but fairplay to you for staying calm there😄
Awe, that's shitty. Seems like everyone handled it in good form. Good to see. I can see how that would frustrate him AND make you and the marker feel awkward haha. And yeah, during the throw in question you were messing with your equipment and Daniel didn't see that so he probably thought... what do you mean you didn't see it? haha
140 hit. Chalker needs to go to Specsavers. This is why it's imperative for the chalker/referee to call the score before darts are retrieved.
I zoomed in, that’s clearly a 140. He ended up winning the leg anyways so it was time to move on.
I see a 20, 60, and a third dart below dart #2 but it's inconclusive and looks more like a 20 than a 60 to me.
what about people around watching what did they see?
Definately inconclusive , Obviously single 20 1st and treble 20 second but the point of entry of the 3rd dart is not Obvious even when you zoom in . So looking back at the cameras would not have proven anything.
Did you need a change of pants? You look genuinely scared! Don’t blame you, the bloke is a unit!
He needs to learn to respect his opponent clearly it through u off I think your being to fair Matt
Size of him 😂 “yes sir it was a 140 don’t take my head off”
The arms on him, if he said he scored 190 id agree with him
Surely he should have queried it with the Ref as soon as he called a100 and not 140
One of his fans appears to be wearing a bum-bag, surely there's no excuse for that.
I hit a 140 last week and scorer only give me 100 I just carried on and went 180 121 out lol
2025 Specsaver Balaton Classic sponsorship already in talks
Why did he not challenge the score at the time?
if that guy said it was a 180 i woilda said ok, hes a beast
Looks 140 to me.... I've had something similar to me happen it's not a nice feeling
Shitty situation, but that's why we have the referees. If he makes a mistake the players are knda shit outta luck, cause the same mistake could have been made for either.
Daniel lookin like a scary Alpha Dartmale :O
Definitely two trebles....
Should have left the wood in the board to make sure. He's juiced to the gills BTW
140 not even a debate.
That was good sportsmanship to say if he thinks it was 140, it's good enough for you.
I dont pay attention..I run through my mind the process...ny job isnt to worry about ny opponents score..thats on him and scorekeeper.
I guess this was a 140, but it's blurry.
It is hard to tell 100% but initial impression for me is its a 140.
its a 140, the 2nd dart is a marker for the 3rd dart into the treble 20
clearly a ton, attached a pic under Matt's first tweet about this. (best quality available)
Ref called it thats it
he’s tried to correct it at first available point without interrupting your throw
Every player knows what they’ve hit etc
Last dart looks like a single, ref said 100, darts pulled, it was 100, no matter what he may think.
it was 140.
What? the guy counting, dropped the mic, should have hear it loud and clear.
I know sod all about darts, but even I can see that was a 140
Definitely a 140 but he handled it very well
I would have to say it is a 140 for sure.
You weren't going to hit a 124 though anyway were you! 😂
100% 140
When somebody tells me it's a 140, it's a 140
Definitely 140
It’s a 140
I'd say he didn't get his roids in a twist. He handled it well.
140 100%
The angle suggests the 3rd dart is sitting on the barrel of the previous treble. I definitely couldn't say it's not 140
Tbf if he hit a clear 26 and claimed a 180 I’d just agree with him
That's 140
I'd say a 140 there to be fair
does look like a 140, next time dont remove the darts till sure though.
Looks like 140 to me.
Looks like 140
It was clearly 76 😁
Looks like a 140 to me
It certainly looks like a 140 to me. Although I think Daniel should have left he's darts in the board if the marker thought it was a 100, easy fix while your darts are still in the board.
That for sure was a 140. I could see it. Daniel needs to wait a second or two before pulling and scorer needs to pay closer attention, especially in a ranked match final. Good on you Matt for sportsmanship and keeping things calm for Daniel.
deffo a 140
It was a 140, not your fault you never saw it.
U hit 85 not 100
Looks 140 to me
Defo looks like a 140
If he says it’s 140, it’s 140!
140 all day long
If he says its 180 its 180
😂
140 all day 👍
"incident" . no, just not smart enough to listen at the caller and claim a mistake before you pull the darts out. its easy, if you missed that moment you have to live with a 100 and check the 124.
Dont make others responsible for your weak moments. lel
Looks like a 140 to me but it’s a bit blurry so don’t know
clearly a 140 lol
Your lucky his roid rage didn’t make him snap
zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
Should be interesting 🫡
Guaranteed 140
Angle of last dart is in t20
Definitely 140
