Scionon Grafting Shears are made out of high-quality materials. Over the last decade, Scionon has put a lot of passion and hard work into the continued development of its product within New Zealand. Since 2016 we have also manufactured Scionon shears in Germany. It's always heartbreaking to see cheap copies of our tools in the marketplace. Thanks for the comparison and for showing the differences in function and quality.
Not going to lie, the tool is great, but it costs an arm and a leg. If you had a version that was closer to 50 dollars for occasional use, I would buy it. It's been 11 years since you posted a video about your tool, there is demand for a great grafting tool, just not a 300 dollar tool.

Nick, Do you have any experience grafting onto wild cherry trees? Some of them are 45+ feet sour cherries that grow in our wetland area behind our home. They are always LOADED with blossoms and sour cherries. I just slapped a few sweet varieties onto the wild stock. Any chance they will take? We also live in PNW, Smokey point, just north of Everett, WA
It should work, but there will be a vigor mismatch. The trunk will end up being thinner than above the graft. It will become top-heavy. Grafting, sour cherry, to sweet cherry root stock works better. Chances are pretty good though Either way. Let me know how it works out!
Those $35 knockoffs look terrible. I got a pair of the Zenports and it is well made. It is $100 and I feel it is well worth it. I havent used it more than a couple weeks, but super straight clean cuts. Positioning it properly is always the most important part for getting the cut you want, so that takes some practicing with pruning scraps.
I have the same experience. The Zenport working fine.Need to sharp the blade more often(this is the weak point of Zenport).I bought one similar copy from Ukraine. Not bad,but Zenport better.I do 100 -150 grafts/year.
Good question :) Every blade can go dull with time, this is not a rewiew I would do, unless somebody would give me Scionon Grafting Shears for free or at a discount :)
1.can you use the Scionon blades on this cheap Chinese knockoff? Are they the same size... 2. you used the $165 price for the Scionon twice. Was this a slip of the tongue, or have they changed the price?

How to buy in india
Why not sharpen the blade and do an honest rewiew?
Have you try to sharpen the blade?

Try to squeeze the handle all the way and it may go ahead and make the cut
The handles were being squeezed as far as they could go

You have to pull the scion back while you make the cut
