Lovely looking Poles. Good competition for the Preston, Matrix, and Maver Poles. The only disappointing bit with the Shimano is that you have to drill and fit your side pullers yourself which is the as Middy. This makes me favour the other Manufacturers.
Tested this against air z pro and guru 900 also garbo uk1 hp and will say the shimano was light and felt nice in hand! not as stiff when striking or slapping than garb or guru! felt not very strong in my opinion! Air z pro is best pole on market
What would you put the X7 against for its price range? Is it better than the MTX4 and Preston X70 or X90? I currently have the MTX3 original v1. Very heavy pole and wish I didn’t bother. Won’t go for a V2 because they are even heavier so I’m looking for a pole £2,500-£3,000.
Not sure it seems like a bagging pole. 18 elastic max… I know a lot of top end poles aren’t designed to be that. But I have to say my uk1 hp is sublime and I have no problem sticking red hydro in it and pulling hard when I need too. And it’s poker stiff too. No way as light but balance is everything. Not sure this video tests the shimano to its limits… mugging an 18lb carp or fishing long down the edge on a venue that you are looking at putting 300lb would be good to see. Short kit small fish. Maybe that’s what it does best… be good to really see some different scenarios in these reviews. F1’s, mugging, big carp in the edge. That way you really know what it’s designed for and can handle
It’s because shimano don’t have there own pullas and they won’t use other brands same as guru they didn’t do it either I don’t agree with it I think there no excuse for it these days
So yet another pole manufacturer sellinga a 15.5 metre pole as a 16 metre pole. I noticed you call them butt sections shimano call them true length extensions.
Also you use the short butt section to take pressure off of the end of the section when striking/slapping etc. Cheaper to repair a dolly butt. Also such a bizarre thing to be annoyed about, does the pole reach 16m? Yes.

I got the pro, class but of kit
If I had the budget I'd have an x7 - looks good and nice enough for catching small stuff
Alex is back🎉🎉🎉

No side pullers ????
Still use my exage ax absolutely brilliant
Under 1300g @ 16m I'd just be bit worried for strength. That x7 would be the one I think
No side pullers? My MTX 3 come with loads of top kits and side pullers, cupping kits, Butt section and an Ethos Pro carryall >.< £1300
And free breaking 4/5 sections😅

@@Jbirdoffcialmusic Totally agree with you. You spending that type of money you want a ready to fish Pole. Also adds additional costs.
@@dennyb965I e had my MTX3 v1 for a year and never had a section break. It’s always down to the angler and not the pole
no spare no 3 or 4 sections with the x7 but you get them with the x5 hmm.any reason for that or is just a money grab

It's a 16 metre pole, Alex is just using a short f1 kit which reduces its length and then the extension to push it back out
