I don't understand why ppl would get so scared in this scenario 😐 if the elevator doesn't move after a minute or so, find the phone or help button, tell the person in the other end ur stuck, and wait to be saved. It won't just randomly freefall down the shaft 😂

Yep, I would expect to get stuck in a brand new elevator like that, because it still is not complete (software wise) and may have a few bugs in the system that have yet to be caught. It's not just old or poorly maintained elevators that get stuck!
The software used on the logic is still recalibrating so the lift is choosing to apply the emergency brake instead of continuing to fly through the roof of the shaft. I actually would rather get stuck on a lift then have it fly through the roof.

Actually Sherlock doesn’t make those horns. EST (Edwards) does.
It looks like a lot of new ThyssenKrupp elevators have EST Genesis horns for alarms, I saw another on RUclips that had that horn when the alarm was pressed.
This is why I do not like that tone

The alarm in this elevator makes the same sound as fire alarms in the majority of schools in my district nowadays.
Star City Elevators rode the Red 1 garage in Lincoln, NE right after it opened and one of it's 4 Synergy elevators also stopped abruptly when going down, looking like the same or similar issue.

There was one other video, I think you were in a Dover elevator, where it seemed to be stuck, but then it opened up after hitting the alarm. Makes me wonder if there are elevator controllers that are designed to somehow "reset" if the alarm button is pressed
dickcheney6 that one for some reason needed to reset itself, and Dover's are supposed to go all the way down at leveling speed, the doors just so happened to open when he hit the alarm, which I found pretty funny.

It probably hit the overrun switch and whet out of service for a bit and then releveled after resetting
I believe that in newer elevators, hitting the alarm will reset the computer system

I used to go to an elementary school and they had an off brand elevator with unknown fixtures and was branded “Millar”.
I was going home from there when I was 8 and it suddenly got stuck, then the person I rode with had to call the office, and then as it was going down, it was buzzing loudly nonstop and was scary to hear back then.

The 2nd one might actually be the service elevator even though it is allowed to have passengers because it has two sets of doors on it and one appears to lead to a restricted area

It seems that the selector tape is out of adjustment, the elevator forgot where it was and was trying to find itself, which it did and you were able to exit
I got stuck in a elevator once at the beach! It took 45 minutes to get out it was on the 11th floor I damn near shat myself!

But seriously, if it is brand new, why would it fail?
It probably failed because when you get in, it brakes down half way up then expects you to press the emergency button.
That’s how the elavator works.

Just imagine if that building had Edwards EST genesis horn strobes for the fire alarm system and the elevator alarm is a Edwards EST genesis horn then people will be confused of what alarm it is and won’t take the fire alarm seriously when it goes off thanking that it’s the elevator alarm which is a real safety hazard if that building were to ever be on fire and people will run out of the building when someone pushes the alarm button on the elevator thinking that it’s the fire alarm.

Just a thought. Need time you get stuck in an elevator, press call or the button with a phone on it before pressing alarm. The phone will call the front desk or other types of help.
