Loved your firm response to the deliberate throwing of rice. It hasn't happened to me 'yet.' I am constantly repeating the promise that you can only use it if the rice stays inside. I wish I could leave a voice recording of the rules playing beside them 😂 🤣
We are far enough into the school year where they know deliberately throwing rice everywhere is not okay. I didn’t even give them a warning. The bin got closed immediately. We gave them one reminder when the bin was opened the following day and no rice was thrown. They knew the bin would once again be closed if it happened.
Do you allow the children to move freely among the centers? And, do the children have access to other toys and things during this time? I’m having trouble with a few kids who constantly run around the room chasing either other with whatever toys they can find, such as cars or dinosaurs or even blocks. I’ve tried natural consequences of taking away the dinos for example. Just wondering if I’m allowing too much freedom or if this is a one off group that I need to muscle through. It’s my first year in 3s. Thanks for your videos and resources!!
We have free choice centers. If you do a search for “centers time” I have a video about it. Also on my blog there is a post under “preschool centers”. I also shared a video recently on how I handled running during centers time by rearranging the furniture a bit so that there are not open spaces that encourage running.
