He had a '69 Torino GT Fastback back when we were kids and sold it to buy a family car. He hadn't stopped talking about it for 35 years. It took me 13 months to complete it. While it wasn't quite the same as the Torino GT, it was the same body and he loves it. I did the same thing, made it a driver and showed up to his house randomly and handed him the keys.

Matt, you and your dad have both said in your videos and in his video your dad is a Corvette guy. I lost my dad last November. ( Miss him like crazy.) He was Ford guy in 1972 fresh off the showroom floor he bought a 1972 Mach 1 Ford Mustang Red with white interior. A few months after I was born my mom asked him to sell it and he bought a 1976 Ford Mercury green with white interior. My Dad was a volunteer firefighter (45 years) 2 weeks after selling the Mustang to a guy he goes on a call for a vehicle accident well the guy that bought the Mustang wrapped it round a telephone pole. My dad tried to buy it back but there was just so much damage to it. My Brother and I for years tried to find one for him but they were either to damaged or not the right fit. One thing I will always remember about my dad is when he, my pap, and brother rebuild my brother's 1979 Oldsmobile Delta 88 from the engine up for 2 years and the look on his face the day when my brother got his license and finally moved it out of the garage. My brother will never forget working with them on that car.

It was my MOM's and she drove it as our daily for my entire childhood. lol.. I lived in that car for so long that I literally got sick of it.. Engine screaming down the highway with the windows down and the radio blaring. So it's kinda funny how every loves these things, but I'm personally over it. I just discovered your dad's channel because of this car. What a perfect vehicle of love (in every potential meaning)

I’m melting 🫠 as a ole gal in her 50’s, I’ve always wanted one of these,,, I was raised loving these and all classic cars from being tiny setting with my daddy looking at all his Hot Rod magazines he kept since he was a teenager. He still has them! He taught me so much.. as close as I came was a 92 T-top, and a 94.. but those days are also came and gone😩 now I don’t even have a car 😂 This was just fantastic! I love what you did ! PRICELESS

That’s exactly why I own a classic. They draw people together, it’s something that is lost in current vehicles. I have new as well. But I love rolling around in the classic.

I think this might be the favorite series you've ever done! I also think this is the favorite car you've ever had on the channel.

Dr. Lee doesn't want the car. He likes Corvettes. That is basically the reason the car was never finished over the last 20 years, and why he gave it to Matt. The only rule was Matt could not put a diesel engine in it or make it a competition burnout car. Matt made his Dad proud.

I thought this car was going back to pops, I musta misunderstood... The Camaro is bad ass tho! and.. There is no better sound than a big block loping.. that and the smell of burnt rubber are an instant adrenaline rush
